Douluo Continent: The Underworld Emperor Halosa Lets Three Fly

Chapter 23 Destroying the Fragments of the Origin

For a quasi-god like him, this suction force is manageable, but for those with slightly weaker strength, contact means a rapid loss of soul power and life force.

This pure devouring property instantly reminded him of a legendary artifact—Tang Wulin's Golden Dragon Spear!

The legendary artifact of the scoundrel, Harosa even suspected, wasn't made from the dragon god's rib, but rather from a scoundrel snake.

That artifact's power was nothing short of "cheap": it absorbed the life force of all living beings for its own use, replenishing its own energy, enhancing its own strength, and even breaking through magic barriers. After killing a creature, it purified its life force and returned it to the user. It was precisely with the Golden Dragon Spear that Tang Wulin was able to quickly rebuild Shrek Academy and even accelerate the growth of the Tree of Life and Tang San's mother.

The strange black seawater before him, with its pure devouring properties, actually gave Harosa a glimpse of the terrifying power of the Golden Dragon Spear... a hint of its origin!

"Is this... the divine miracle left behind by the fall of the God-Kings?" Harosa murmured to himself, gaining a more direct and profound understanding of the immense power at the God-King level. If merely the fragments of power dissipated from the fall of two God-Kings could create such a bizarre and powerful phenomenon, what kind of being must the true deities be?

His path to godhood seems to be even longer and more difficult.

But this black seawater is of great use to him! Perhaps it can be used as material to create his own divine artifact.

Harosa no longer hesitated. He connected with the Skeleton World in his mind, and his vast Divine Origin Realm spiritual power locked onto the entire black sea area within a 300-meter radius around Devil Island. The Gate to the Underworld opened silently, forming a massive spatial vortex.

Rumble!

Like a whale sucking in water, the deep black seawater was frantically drawn in by an invisible force, continuously surging into the Gate of the Underworld and pouring into a huge depression that had been pre-carved out within the Skull World!

The volume of seawater was enormous, and the depth of the area within a 300-meter radius was not shallow. When the last trace of black seawater was drained, revealing the equally dark seabed below, a strange scene unfolded—the surrounding normal azure seawater seemed to be blocked by an invisible barrier, unable to flow into this drained area! It was as if an invisible "membrane" separated the inside from the outside.

"The rules of space have been permanently distorted?" Harosa was secretly shocked. The influence of the God-King fragments had indeed penetrated deep into the essence of space.

Just as Harosa was focused on collecting seawater, about a hundred meters above him, seven distorted and ethereal figures, radiating powerful mental fluctuations and intense emotional auras, were silently suspended in the air, like seven swirling black clouds.

Their empty or distorted "gazes" were all focused on the audacious intruder below.

The seven phantom figures seemed to show obvious confusion and bewilderment at Harosa's painstaking extraction of seawater, which was of no use other than for consumption.

The intruder's behavior was completely beyond their comprehension.

"What the hell are they doing?" Instead of coming to find the Seven Old Demons, they're stealing seawater from across the river?

Greed, rage, jealousy... a variety of emotions surged silently within them, yet there was no immediate sign of them launching an attack.

They were observing and assessing this uninvited guest, whose powerful aura even made them feel a little wary.

Harosa stared at the empty seabed area isolated by an invisible barrier for a while, and after confirming that there was no sign of the black seawater regenerating, he stopped and turned to walk deeper into Devil's Island.

His gaze fell upon the dark, twisted trees along the way. His Divine Origin Realm spiritual power meticulously scanned their structure. These trees had complex compositions: at their very core was a faint, almost imperceptible, yet astonishingly high-quality life force, like the embers of divinity;

Enveloping the breath of life is a layer of dense destructive energy; while the outermost layer, which constitutes the main body of the tree, is a pure aura of deathly stillness—a high-quality power of death.

"The 'ashes' produced after destruction and life collide and cancel each other out?" Harosa understood. This death power was of extremely high quality, almost equivalent to the necromantic resentment he had painstakingly refined! As he rapidly ventured deeper into the island, he quietly circulated the Netherworld Necromantic Soul Core within his body.

A powerful suction force emanated from the trees and the deathly aura permeating the air, drawing the surrounding trees and air into his soul core like rivers flowing into the sea, where it was continuously purified and transformed. He was adept at dealing with these "ashes."

In the sky, seven distorted phantoms (the Seven Old Demons) silently observed. Watching Harosa absorb the unsettling, deathly aura like a cleaner, the Demon of Abomination surged with fury and wanted to rush down to stop this "thief."

"Garlic bird, garlic bird..." The lazy old demon's slow, weary mental fluctuations came through, "Too lazy to argue with him... Let him absorb it, absorb it all... It'll be more comfortable living here..."

The other old demons echoed similar sentiments: "Let him absorb it. That stuff is useless to us anyway. It'll be cleaner once it's all gone." They chose to wait and see for the time being, and were too lazy to take action as long as Harossa didn't touch the core.

Harosa moved swiftly through the dark, pathless forest. He didn't need to worry about touching the trees that exuded destructive death energy; the deathly power that naturally permeated his body formed a protective barrier, isolating him from the corrosive influence.

The closer they got to the center of the island, the denser and purer the deathly aura in the air became. "The source of destruction is indeed at the center," Harosa thought sharply.

After walking for an unknown amount of time, the scenery ahead suddenly changed. Deep within the dark forest, a profound and unsettling purplish-black light flickered in and out of sight. It exuded a pure sense of annihilation, as if it could end all life. Harosa remembered that in the original story, Tang Wulin had entered the true abode of the Seven Old Demons through this very place.

Just as Harosa approached the purplish-black light, the seven old demons in the sky finally couldn't hold back any longer. A powerful surge of will erupted: "We can't let him into our house!"

The seven distorted phantoms instantly transformed into streams of light, disappearing into the purplish-black light.

Harosa didn't care at all; in fact, he seemed to be looking forward to their arrival. He moved with lightning speed, passing effortlessly through the purplish-black light barrier.

The scene before my eyes changed in an instant!

A huge valley came into view, completely different from the dark and desolate Devil's Island outside! It was lush and green, with all kinds of strange plants growing there, full of vitality.

In the distance, a massive purplish-black pillar of light shot into the sky, emanating a chilling aura of annihilation. The elemental energy of heaven and earth here was exceptionally abundant, and more importantly, a life force so dense it was almost tangible filled every inch of space!

"A small world deeply tainted by the source of life..." Harosa frowned. This overwhelming life force was even more repulsive to him than the interior of the Golden Ancient Tree. It was like being in scorching lava, making him feel extremely uncomfortable.

He forced himself to endure the discomfort and traversed the dense, strange jungle. Ahead, the terrain sank, the ground turning an eerie purplish-red. And at the center of that lowest point, an even thicker, more terrifying purplish-red pillar of light rose from the ground, its source a massive ore boulder deeply embedded in the earth, only its irregular corner protruding!

"Destroy the source!" Harosa's eyes flashed with an unprecedented light! The pure aura of destruction emanating from the ore was powerful, violent, and seemed capable of annihilating everything. Its quality far exceeded all his previous understanding!

This is the core fragment of the fallen God-King—the Stone of Destruction! That pillar of light is the Light of Destruction!
