Douluo Continent: The Underworld Emperor Halosa Lets Three Fly
Chapter 77 Under Control
Chapter 77 Under Control
Boom! ...
These words, like a thunderclap from the heavens, exploded in Leng Yaozhu's mind! They were a hundred times more intense than physical pain!
The stubborn color drained from Leng Yaozhu's face in an instant, leaving only a deathly pale white! Her pupils contracted to pinpoints with extreme terror, and her whole body trembled violently uncontrollably!
The immense fear that hadn't even surfaced when she faced the threat of death just moments before now coiled around her heart like a cold, venomous snake!
You don't want Yunming to know either. "No!!" she screamed, her voice shrill and distorted. "Yali's disappearance is your fault! It's you! You did it all!!" She spoke incoherently, desperately denying it, as if trying to shake this terrible thought out of her mind.
Harosa, however, seemed not to hear her screams, continuing to weave lies in a calm yet malicious tone that would condemn her to eternal damnation:
"Hmm, let me think about how to tell this story in a moving way." He stroked his chin, his eyes playful. "Leng Yaozhu, the Deputy Tower Master of the Spirit Transmission Tower and the Heavenly Phoenix Douluo, has been infatuated with Yun Ming, the Pavilion Master of the Sea God Pavilion, for many years. Unable to obtain his love, she harbored resentment and ulterior motives. Thus, she used the power she held in the Spirit Transmission Tower..."
Secretly colluding with evil spirit masters of the Holy Spirit Cult, they meticulously planned the shocking massacre in Shrek City! Taking advantage of the chaos, they kidnapped the Holy Spirit Douluo Ya Li, their intentions... heh heh.
Perhaps they're trying to coerce Yun Ming into submission? Or maybe they're simply eliminating their love rival and taking his place? Ugh, this plot—Old Deng," he suddenly turned to Deng Zhan, who was trembling with fear beside him, "do you think this, if written as a storybook, would sell like hotcakes in Douluo Continent?"
Deng Zhan jumped in surprise, not daring to respond. He could only lower his head even further and mumble, "Your Excellency is wise—the story is extremely engaging."
"No! No!!!" Leng Yaozhu completely broke down! Like a wild beast whose scales had been stepped on, she struggled frantically, blood gushing from her seven orifices, staining the front of her magnificent red robe. "This isn't real! It has nothing to do with me! It's all your fault! You did it all!!"
If Yunming found out about this, whether it was true or not, how would he see her? What would he think of her? He would definitely think she was a wicked woman. Her voice was hoarse, filled with desperate sobs. She couldn't imagine how Yunming would view her if this vicious rumor reached his ears. Her lifelong infatuation would become the most disgusting scheme! She would rather die a thousand times than leave such a stain in Yunming's heart!
Seeing Leng Yaozhu completely lose her composure and on the verge of a mental breakdown, Harosa could barely suppress the smile on his lips. He thought to himself, "Pfft, no wonder it's the Continent of Love-Obsessed People. No matter how tough you are, once you're involved in love, you can turn into a spineless coward. All the strong people who get involved in love lose their minds and hearts. How laughable and pathetic."
He laughed again, his laughter filled with smug satisfaction and a hint of barely perceptible mockery: "If you die here today, I can say whatever I want. Who would believe the arguments of a dead man? Who wouldn't believe the accusations of a 'victim'?"
His smile vanished, his eyes turning cold and sharp, like a drawn blade piercing Leng Yaozhu's soul. His voice carried an undeniable command: "Now, tell me, how did the Star Luo Tang Sect perish?"
Leng Yaozhu trembled all over, as if all her bones had been removed. Her eyes were unfocused as she stared blankly at Harosa, her lips trembling. Her last shred of will to resist completely crumbled in the face of the ultimate fear that concerned Yun Ming's opinion.
She was like a soulless puppet, her voice hollow and numb, filled with profound despair.
"It was—it was the Spirit Pagoda—colluded with the Holy Spirit Cult—destroyed—the Xingluo Tang branch—"
Though the sound was soft, it was like a thunderclap, exploding in the deathly silent valley.
"Very good." Harosa nodded in satisfaction, as if admiring a perfect work of art.
He stretched out his hand, and something appeared out of thin air in his palm—a tiny, exquisitely carved skull figurine, no bigger than his palm. It was a deep, dark gray-black, with two tiny, eerie green gems embedded in its eye sockets. Though small, it exuded a chilling, ominous aura.
With a flick of his finger, Harosa sent the tiny skull figurine, as if it were alive, precisely and with a touch of sinister force, "whoosh," directly into the blood-stained, ornate red robe that Leng Yaozhu was wearing, which was slightly open due to her heavy breathing!
Chest.
The cold touch pressed against her warm skin, instantly arousing Leng Yaozhu a violent shudder and an indescribable sense of shame!
"Go back. You know what to do now, right?" Harosa's voice, like a chilling wind from the depths of hell, brushed against Leng Yaozhu's ear. "Keep your mouth shut, and keep the mouths of the Star Luo Spirit Pagoda shut too. If I hear even the slightest whisper about the truth of the Star Luo Tang Sect..."
He paused deliberately, his voice becoming even more sinister and terrifying:
"Then, I guarantee that the 'exciting story' about Ya Li's disappearance, the Spirit Pagoda, and you, Leng Yaozhu, will be delivered to the Sea God Pavilion Master Yunming's desk immediately, word for word! Believe me, my storytelling skills are definitely more exciting than you think."
As soon as he finished speaking, the gray-black light surged instantly, completely engulfing Harosa, Deng Zhan, Deng Fengqiao, and the broken little skeleton.
The light flashed and disappeared in an instant, leaving behind only the strong smell of blood, a mess everywhere, and a red-clad woman who looked lost, covered in blood, with a strange skull figurine stuffed in her chest.
As if all her strength had been drained, Leng Yaozhu plummeted straight down from mid-air, landing with a "thud" on the cold, hard, blood-stained ground. She couldn't even feel the pain; she just stared blankly and absently at the spot where Harosa had disappeared.
A wave of overwhelming exhaustion washed over her, leaving her weak and her heart pounding wildly in her chest, as if it would burst. But what followed was an overwhelming sense of regret, humiliation, and a deep-seated fear!
Her hands trembled as she reached into the blood-stained, now-glorious red robe, her fingertips touching the cold, hard skull figurine. The piercing chill seemed to freeze her soul. As if scalded, she abruptly pulled it out.
Then she threw it far away, and the skull figurine disappeared into the horizon. Suddenly, a flash of white light appeared on Leng Yaozhu's chest again. She tried several times without success, and then gave up.
That small, eerily green skull, its empty eye sockets seeming to silently grin at her. It was more than just a threatening token; it was a Damocles' sword hanging over her and the entire Spirit Pagoda! It was a heavy burden and a brand of shame she was forced to bear in order to preserve her pitiful image in Yun Ming's eyes!
"Ahhh!!!" A shrill, painful scream, filled with endless humiliation and fear, finally broke through the throat and echoed for a long time in the dead silence of the valley.
"Brother Yunming—"
She clutched the skull figurine tightly, her knuckles white from the force, as if she wanted to crush it, yet dared not. Finally, as if avoiding a plague, she held the figurine firmly in her palm, using her last ounce of strength to transform into a dim, crimson streak of light, the wolf-fox vanishing pathetically into the horizon. All that remained was the stench of blood and a chilling cold that seeped into her very bones.
