Chapter 209: All Curses End

Ms. Hooch stood in the center of the Quidditch pitch and saw Sheehan approaching. She nodded to him with satisfaction.

"The two captains shake hands."

Referee Ms. Hodge announced that Cedric and acting captain Roger had come together.

Quidditch matches start quickly and end quickly.

As the crowd reveled in the excitement of Quidditch, Sheen streaked across the sky like a shooting star.

With the best flying broom and flying skills that could reach the [Expert] proficiency level infinitely, Sheen only took three minutes to leave everyone behind and arrive at the Golden Snitch's rear alone.

When his feet left the ground, all that occupied his mind was the magical intuition honed through constant practice.

His powerful willpower allows him to master alchemical creations at an extremely high level, which is one of the reasons why he caught the Golden Thief in just five minutes.

"We won! It's Sheen! God—Terry!"

In the stands, Michael excitedly hugged Terry.

"We are the best Quidditch team!"

At the Quidditch match, Roger roared excitedly.

The Ravenclaw Quidditch players huddled together around Sheehan.

"To the wind and eagle wings that forever soar in the distant sky!"

And so the Quidditch match came to an end.

Before leaving the arena, Roger hesitantly asked Sheehan:

"I know you're not after this, but just this once, just this last time, let's take that damn Quidditch cup together!"

This is their best chance in seven years! Ravenclaw will win the College Cup!

Quidditch is easy. While flying, Sheen's mind goes completely blank, but easy things can never truly capture the grandeur of magic.

Sheehan remembered his promise to the prefect, then nodded and bid farewell to Acting Captain Roger.

"That's wonderful, kid!"

Professor McGonagall strode down from the stands, followed by Professor Snape, who looked visibly angry.

In the days that followed, Professor Snape seemed to harbor a kind of resentment.

His guidance was more focused on:

"What's wrong, Mr. Green? Didn't the Golden Snitch tell you the correct stirring force for the shrinking potion?"

"Of course, Mr. Green, savagery has taken over your mind, so you've forgotten that controlling the heat requires utmost care."

Professor McGonagall, however, became even more amiable.

During breaks, she would unconsciously share some of her past Quidditch matches with Sheehan.

In a relaxed state, Sheen became more proficient at constructing magical circuits in Transfiguration.

Time passed slowly.

Sheen's plan has remained unchanged.

With his Transfiguration proficiency getting closer and closer to the "Master" level each day, Sheen was incredibly curious about what lay ahead after becoming a Master.

He even mastered several types of advanced shapeshifting techniques:

The transformation of "objects" into "magic" was what he was most skilled at; followed by multiple transformations that increased the strength and complexity of the transformation spells;

He was also learning the art of transforming "self" into "living things" step by step... As for the vast realm of other transformation arts, he felt that he did not have enough energy.

In a week, he constructed a magical loop around the stone pillars and was able to summon smaller stone pillars without becoming completely exhausted.

He increasingly felt that the role of magic circuits was to reduce the energy and willpower drain from polymorphing, and that the path to perfecting magic circuits was almost endless.

No wonder wizards become more powerful the more skilled they are at polymorphism; it's a branch of magic that can accumulate infinitely.

After the Quidditch match, Sheen's reputation in Ravenclaw visibly improved.

Michael and his hawks spread a lot of exaggerated rumors about Sheen.

The most outrageous one was: "Oh, Sheehan, of course, if you knew he could beat a young Dumbledore, then it would all be understandable."

In the Great Hall, even Neville believed that Sheen would at least become the next Dumbledore.

The principal, who had a sweet tooth, watched with great interest, and when he recalled something, he was slightly taken aback.

...This child is indeed better than him in some ways when he was younger.

Regardless of the rumors circulating outside, Sheen continued to learn magic at his own pace.

Thanks to his daily "patrols" of the Forbidden Forest with Hagrid, Thestral's affinity with Hagrid is now close to the point where he can make Fantastic Beasts cookies.

Meanwhile, after a period of training, the young wizards at Hope's Hut sent Justin some interesting news.

"We're all learning how to use the spell 'Stop Curse,' it's a practical and effective magic..."

Justin spoke as he entered Hope Cottage amidst Mr. Owl's cacophony.

"By chance, Hermione discovered it in the Book of Spells. It was so similar to Charmstone that it was easy for us to learn..."

Sheehan didn't quite understand what Justin was talking about until he saw Hermione and the others excitedly pointing their wands downwards.

He immediately understood, after all—wand up, ultimate protection; wand down, the end of all spells.

Finite is a group counterspell that requires multiple wizards to cast together to remove a large-scale magical effect.

This spell works similarly to a single-target anti-spell, but on a larger scale. It can dispel most common spells, but is ineffective against powerful curses such as Avada Kedavra.

It is extremely useful when united against an enemy.

For example, when Gellert Grindelwald unleashed blue flames in an attempt to destroy Paris, the local wizards collectively cast a spell to end the disaster and successfully prevent it.

"Come quick! Sheen, I think we can definitely unleash it!"

Hermione whispered excitedly.

Her desk was covered with books such as "The Book of Spells," "Basic Spells for Busy and Frustrated People," and "Defense and Deterrence Spells." It's not hard to understand why she found some interesting spells through extensive study.

Professor Flitwick, who happened to be passing by, was happy to help the young wizards with their tests, and so—

"Impedimenta (Obstacles)!"

Professor Flitwick waved his wand.

"Finite! (All curses end!)"

The wizards of Hope's Hut stood in a row with Sheen at the center.

They pointed their wands downwards, and a golden-red light converged at the tips of their wands, actually negating Professor Flitwick's numerous obstacles.

"Excellent! Kids! You did a fantastic job!"

Professor Flitwick clapped.

Inside the Hope Hut, everyone fell into an excited silence. They wanted to say something, but couldn't utter a word.

Harry and Ron never imagined they would one day face off against the professor, while Justin was overjoyed—they seemed to have found something extraordinary.

As for Sheen, he heard the sound from the panel:

[You have practiced the Mantra of All Curses to Their End with the skill of a pro, proficiency +30]

In the instant they jointly unleashed the spell, they actually managed to temporarily reach a level where they could hold their own against the professor in terms of dispelling the spell.
