Chapter 438, Section 436: Resignation of School Board Member
On the last day before Easter, tensions between the two teams and the two colleges reached a breaking point.
Some minor brawls broke out in the hallways, and in the worst case, a fourth-year Gryffindor student and a sixth-year Slytherin student ended up in the school hospital with chives coming out of their ears.
Harry's days were particularly difficult.
When he went to his last class, Slytherin students would always stick out their legs to trip him;
Wherever he went, Crabbe and Gore would always appear, and seeing him surrounded by Justin and the others, they would move aside in disappointment.
Wood was glad that Harry had a group of good friends who could prevent Slytherin from preventing him from playing.
The match is about to begin.
Justin anxiously used the two-way mirror, but received no response.
He and Hermione had no choice but to turn their attention to the arena, where Harry looked like he wanted to devour Malfoy alive.
Ron was shouting angrily for him, basically saying that Malfoy must pay the price.
The Gryffindor team walked out of the locker room and onto the field, greeted by a deafening roar.
Three-quarters of the audience wore bright red roses, waved red flags with Gryffindor lions painted on them, or carried banners with slogans such as "Go Gryffindor!" and "The Lion Catches the Snake!"
Behind the Slytherin goalposts stood two hundred men wearing green ornaments, with silver snakes gleaming on their flags.
"Gryffindor is on the field!"
Lee Jordan, who was providing commentary as usual, shouted,
"Porter, Bell, Jason, Spinnett, the Weasley brothers, and Wood!"
With Ravenclaw missing their absolute core player, this is widely considered to be the best team Hogwarts has had in years.
Lee's explanation was drowned out by a chorus of boos from the Slytherin side.
"Slytherin has also entered the field, led by Captain Flint. He's made some adjustments to the lineup, seemingly focusing more on size than technique—"
The Slytherin booed even louder, but Harry thought Lee had a point.
Malfoy was clearly the shortest in their team, while the other players were all tall and strong.
"The two captains shake hands!"
Ms. Huo Qi said.
Flint and Wood stepped forward and shook hands tightly, as if they both wanted to break each other's fingers.
"Riding a flying broomstick!"
Ms. Huo Qi said,
"Three...two...one..."
A fight is about to break out.
"Gryffindor has possession now. Arya Spinnet of Gryffindor is heading straight for Slytherin's goal with the Quaffle. Looks good, Arya!"
Oh no—Warrington intercepted the Quaffle. Slytherin's Warrington charged across the field—whoa!
—George Weasley made a brilliant running ball, Warrington lost the Quaffle, and it was stolen by —Jansen, Gryffindor has the ball back.
Come on, Angelina! — Beautiful! She's shaken off Monta! — Watch out, Angelina, a stealthy ball! — She scores! Ten to zero, Gryffindor takes the lead!
Lee Jordan continues his passionate commentary.
Angelina glided around one end of the court, pumping her fist triumphantly, while the sea of red below erupted in cheers—
"Ouch!"
Angelina nearly fell off the broom when Marcus Flint bumped into her hard.
"sorry!"
Flint said amidst boos from the audience,
"Sorry, I didn't see her!"
A moment later, Fred Weasley hit Flint on the back of the head with his baseball bat.
Flint's nose hit the broom handle and started bleeding.
"That's enough!"
Ms. Huo shouted sharply, and darted between the two men.
"Unprovoked attack on the Chaser, Gryffindor throws the penalty! Intentional injury to the Chaser, Slytherin throws the penalty!"
"No, ma'am!"
Fred cried out, but Ms. Hodge blew her whistle, and Arya flew forward to take the penalty.
"Go for it, Aria!"
Li spoke loudly in the silence of the audience.
"Great! She's broken past the goalkeeper! Gryffindor leads 20-0!"
Harry quickly turned Nimbus 2000 and watched as Flint, whose nose was still bleeding, flew forward to throw the penalty for Slytherin.
Wood stood guard in front of the Gryffindor goal, gritting his teeth.
"Of course, Wood is a top-class goalkeeper!"
While Flint waited for Ms. Hodge's whistle, Lee Jordan addressed the audience.
"Top-notch! Very difficult to break through—extremely difficult—wow! Unbelievable! He saved the ball!"
Harry breathed a sigh of relief, rapidly ascending and searching for the thief, but still listening intently to Lee Jordan's commentary.
Taking advantage of the fact that no one was paying attention, he elbowed Malfoy hard, preventing him from touching the thief.
Harry will keep moving until Gryffindor is more than fifty points ahead.
Malfoy was still a little dazed when Harry's second elbow struck.
"Well done, Harry! That's it!"
Ron below was so excited he almost jumped up.
Hermione and Justin watched with concern as Harry and Malfoy's actions became increasingly exaggerated, making it seem as if they were dueling.
A duel, with ball games incidentally.
"Gryffindor has the ball, no, Slytherin has the ball—no!—Gryffindor has taken it back, it's Kitty Bell, Kitty Bell of Gryffindor has the Quaffle and is speeding around the field—this is intentional!"
Slytherin's Chaser Monta moved in front of Katie, but instead of grabbing the Quaffle, he went to grab her head.
Katie did a somersault in the air, managing to stay on the broomstick, but she lost the Quaffle.
Miss Hodge's whistle blew again. She flew toward Monta and began to scold him loudly.
A minute later, Katie scored another penalty.
"Thirty to zero! Learn your lesson, you despicable, shameless lot—"
"Jordan, if you can't provide neutral commentary—"
"I'm stating the facts, Professor!"
The commentary booth also appeared to be in complete chaos.
In the distance, Sheen quietly witnessed everything, watching Harry elbow Malfoy and almost steal the Golden Snitch.
Justin's face quickly appeared in his magic mirror, and Justin's slightly agitated mood instantly calmed down.
"Did you see my message? Sheen, you've known about this all along, haven't you?"
Justin asked carefully.
"Um."
Sheen answered.
He and Headmaster Dumbledore never let up on their investigation of the Malfoy family, and finally, recently, they caught up with some small clues.
While they might not send Malfoy directly to prison, it would be easy to get him to resign from his position as a school board member and undergo a period of investigation to prevent him from doing anything wrong again.
On the competition stage, Harry was furious;
Below the playing field, Sheehan stood calmly next to Dumbledore.
"I'm glad you know how to use the rules."
Dumbledore smiled.
"It's just a different way, Principal."
Sheen said in a low voice.
