Chapter 586, Section 584: Voldemort's Departure

The principal's office was quiet, with only an old wizard and a young wizard gazing at each other in silence.

Suddenly, a barely perceptible buzzing sound arose.

Almost simultaneously, a mirror appeared beside Dumbledore and Sheehan.

He's gone.

""

Only three words floated from Dumbledore's mirror, and the old wizard's expression suddenly turned serious.

Sheen found two anxious faces in the mirror.

"Mr. Green, I hope I haven't bothered you."

Lupin said respectfully, though with a hint of impatience.

"Don't dawdle at this time."

Sirius's voice reached Sheehan's ears, "Dear Mr. Green, they're gone. I'm sure it's them, the ones you asked us to find—more than one—anyway, they've left Little Hangleton, and if they apparite, we can't keep up—"

"Should we stop them?"

Lu Ping's calm yet firm voice also drifted out.

"No."

After a few breaths, Sheen spoke softly.

Voldemort is leaving Little Hangleton. What is he going to do?

Sheen was unaware of this, but he knew that even without being fully resurrected, Voldemort could still create Horcruxes.

Before finding the last—and perhaps not the last—Hornet, they'd better not drive away a venomous snake exposed to the sun.

"Then we should—"

"6

Sirius seemed even more impatient.

"Bigfoot!"

Lupin reminded him in time.

"Mr. Sirius, Mr. Lupin, is there anything else you'd like to tell me?"

Sheen asked.

"Oh, of course, Mr. Green. During the time we were monitoring them, we heard a place name several times."

Lupin said quickly.

"Albania, sir."

Sirius Black adds.

"Um—gentlemen."

Sheen's voice became much more serious. "I'd like to ask if you brought a whole set of fairytale cookies?"

"certainly."

Lupin and Sirius exchanged a glance, then looked into the distance and spoke one after the other.

Sheen then nodded.

Speaking of which, Fairy Tale Cookies has already launched quite a few new products.

Just as the Ministry of Magic had anticipated, the combination of all the magical creature transformations was extremely unexpected.

The functions they can perform are virtually limitless.

Especially after a certain Mr. Hermes developed controllable deformation.

"In any case, the most important thing is to protect yourselves, gentlemen."

I must remind you, gentlemen, that what you are about to do is more dangerous than anything else.

Sheen couldn't help but remind him.

Lupin and Sirius's faces showed a terrifying determination, which gradually faded away.

The mirror surface returned to its calm state.

Sheehan wondered if the whole set of fairytale cookies could save Mr. Lupin and Mr. Sirius.

Bowtruckle Cookies: The effect is to transform into a magical creature resembling a twig. Such twigs are often unnoticed when they flutter on a wizard's robe or in his pocket.

Invisible Beast Cookie: Its effect is to provide temporary invisibility, and perhaps even some foresight into the future, but that remains unknown.

Sheen did not find the answer in the experiment, but that does not mean it cannot be completely denied.

Ball Bird: It is known for its extraordinary ability to escape danger. It can disappear without a trace and reappear in another place without lifting a finger.

It is a simpler and easier alternative to Apparition, and has been well received by the magical community for being able to be used in any situation (especially without a wand).

Who wouldn't want to buy a cookie that can help them get out of danger at any time?

Sheen heard that someone kept it in their mouth all the time, and it was eventually taken away while taking a bath.

As for the remaining types of dragon biscuits and bird-snake biscuits, Sheen believed they should be able to play some role in the battle.

After thinking it over thoroughly, Sheen finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"It seems an old man has finally found a place to contribute his remaining energy."

Dumbledore slowly walked to Sheehan's side. "Hogwarts Castle, child, I entrust it to you. I believe you will do a better job than I will, and I also suspect that Severus and Minerva would be more than willing to help you."

Sheen was taken aback.

Headmaster Dumbledore is going to—

"I need to contact a few old friends. Oh, I guess I'll be quite busy from now on?"

Dumbledore said with a smile.

"Hogwarts Castle still needs you."

Sheen could only speak slowly.

"That's how it used to be."

Dumbledore recalled the giant who had blocked everything at the border, and he knew the boy had grown to a point where even they could not easily defeat him. "Forgotten? Perhaps it's better to forget—some wizards don't need to be forced to grow."

He murmured softly, "Our course is coming to an end. Let this be the last one, dear Mr. Green."

Dumbledore's somewhat somber words made Sheehan listen intently, not daring to breathe too loudly.

Have their courses ended?

Sheen felt like he had forgotten something, something about the wizard's blind confidence.

"Oh, you're worried about the part you haven't learned yet?"

Dumbledore smiled. "You learned it long ago, child. In dreams."

Sheen raised his head even higher.

"The last class—please forgive an old man's rambling, Mr. Green."

Dumbledore glanced at the stone tablet with two cracks on the young wizard's chest and remembered what Godric Gryffindor had told him in that world.

"The empty talisman is just a stone, just as the sun is just a star. Only when we are awake is it truly dawn."

The empty rune can only work when the wizard's will is obeyed at the boundary. For my student Albus, the broken stone slabs represented his will being integrated into this land.

But would that be a good thing? A wizard who seizes power through this very principle will also meet his death through it. Perhaps, it's something worse than death. Who can say for sure?

"Use the Soul Relics with caution, child."

Dumbledore's eyes were relaxed, kind, and wise.

"I understand, Headmaster Dumbledore."

Although it wasn't easy for him to understand, Sheen still answered earnestly.

"You've graduated, Mr. Green. In nearly a hundred years, perhaps the only thing I can be proud of is becoming your principal."

77

Dumbledore crouched down, his tall figure no longer blocking the sunlight.

Sunlight fell on their faces, and Sheehan saw Dumbledore smile gently: "Minerva has better judgment than any of us. I suspect that what I am doing now may be better than anything I have ever done before."

"Are you going to go find him? Perhaps it's not the right time yet."

Before Dumbledore left, Sheehan couldn't help but ask.

"Of course I know, child. But I'm going to take responsibility for my mistakes. We all are."
