Chapter 117 Superman's Mishap

Descending from the sky, Superman's landing created a shockwave that kicked up a cloud of dust. After striking a pose, Superman slowly rose and looked at the agents and soldiers around him.

How is everyone?

"We have no idea where it is, but the events that keep happening suggest that the Joker is here," an officer said to Superman.

"I'll catch him the next time he makes a move," Superman said confidently, patting the officer on the shoulder and laughing, "Relax, that Joker, I'm going to kill him today."

As he spoke, Superman took the entire battlefield into his perception, knowing that he would be able to detect any move the Joker made.

"Oh~ it's made its move. How dare I be so arrogant here~" Superman smiled slightly, then disappeared instantly and reappeared next to a broken wall. A pale, giant hand was grabbing a terrified soldier and dragging him toward a sewer opening below the broken wall.

A hot gaze severed his hand, and Superman grabbed the severed wound, then pulled hard, pulling out Pennywise, whose face was covered in thick paint.

"You're not from Earth." Pennywise, who had been pulled out, showed no panic. Instead, he looked at Superman with a hint of nostalgia and said, "This taste... you're a Kryptonian."

"You seem to know quite a lot about this weirdo." Superman looked at Pennywise with a sneer, rushed forward and tore off Pennywise's arms and legs like he was tearing dough.

"That's it?" Superman said dismissively, tossing Pennywise's limbs aside and looking at the limbless Pennywise on the ground. He should have just flown over here himself if he had known this guy was such trash.

It seems the psychological trauma from the Sadako incident was too great, causing me to be timid and hesitant. After all, how many monsters in this world can really cause me trouble?

Shaking his head with a self-deprecating smile, Superman couldn't help but chuckle at his previous over-cautiousness. It was just a weirdo; wasn't it easy to deal with?

At that moment, a strange laugh suddenly rang out in the air, but Superman was absolutely certain that the sound did not come from Pennywise, who was lying on the ground with his limbs torn off.

Superman's super hearing quickly pinpointed the source. He saw that Pennywise's limbs, which he had just torn off and thrown away, had turned into spider-like monsters that pounced on him. Their legs were sharp as spears, stabbing straight at Superman as if to pierce him through.

A disdainful smile flashed across Superman's face, his eyes filled with contempt for the abilities of these monsters. He might be a little afraid of being disgusted by the supernatural, but physical attacks and nuclear bombs couldn't break through Superman's defenses.

Sure enough, when these spider-like spear tips touched Superman's steel-hard skin, they broke in the face of this incredible hardness, making a soft cracking sound, just like fragile branches hitting hard rock.

Superman stretched out a hand, as if choosing an unfortunate target, and then swiftly grabbed one of the spider monsters trying to get behind him. Superman's movement was effortless and elegant, like swatting an annoying insect; with just a light tap, the unfortunate little monster was smashed to pieces, turning into a pile of minced meat that was no longer a threat.

Then, Superman turned without hesitation to the remaining three spider monsters. His movements were swift and precise, easily crushing them one by one, as if he were shattering defenseless shells. None of the monsters could survive for more than a moment under his feet; their bodies were as thin as paper in the face of Superman's power, easily torn apart.

In less than half a second, all four monsters that Pennywise had conjured were killed.

"Next up is you." Looking at Pennywise, Superman's eyes began to glow, focusing a powerful beam of energy that pierced through Pennywise's body and scorched the surrounding area. As Superman's gaze moved, Pennywise's body was completely charred, turning into a pile of motionless, blackened remains.

"Done."

Superman crossed his arms, thinking to himself, "As expected of me." Then, the charred remains of Pennywise suddenly began to twist and deform, and a huge figure gradually took shape.

It was an enormous spider, each of its eyes gleaming with an eerie light. Its eight long legs moved across the ground, emitting chilling sounds. It hissed strangely, as if declaring war on Superman.

"Quite tenacious." Superman muttered before slowly taking off, raising himself high enough to look down at the giant spider. He looked down at the spider with disdain and said, "Ordinary superheroes might not be a match for you, but unfortunately, today you've met me."

As long as it remains a physical entity, no matter how big or strong it becomes, Superman is not afraid, because even if the giant spider grows to the size of a Gundam, Superman is confident that he can easily defeat it.

Superman is afraid of creatures like Sadako, which are extremely bizarre and unpredictable. They are terrifying in appearance, lower his sleep quality, and occasionally create frightening hallucinations that affect his normal life. He has heard that there are many such creatures in Japan, so Superman is reluctant to go there.

The giant spider launched a frenzied attack on Superman, its eight thick spider legs like eight sharp spears, stabbing at Superman from all directions, attempting to penetrate his nearly impenetrable defense. However, even such a powerful offensive seemed like an ant trying to shake a tree before Superman, completely unable to break through his defenses.

A sharp glint flashed in Superman's eyes. His heat vision, like a blade, precisely sliced through the giant spider's legs. With a casual tug, the spider's joints snapped as easily as paper. Slicing and tearing, in no time, the enormous spider monster was rendered powerless to resist. All eight legs were dismembered, and its massive body struggled on the ground with only its remaining strength.

"Heh~" Superman looked disdainfully at the spider whose limbs he had easily torn off, then his gaze locked onto another fatal part of the giant spider—its sharp, giant spider fangs.

These spider fangs would be a nice decoration in my home as a trophy from this battle, and they could also serve as a symbol of my overcoming my fear of the supernatural.

With this thought in mind, Superman flew like lightning to the front of the giant spider, ready to take the trophy from his enemy.

However, just as Superman was pulling out the giant spider's tooth, the giant spider's mouth opened 270° against the laws of physics, revealing three constantly rotating points of light deep inside.

Three rapidly spinning points of light emitted an eerie yet captivating glow.

Gazing at the eerie light, Superman suddenly fell into an unprecedented hallucination. These hallucinations were not merely visual distortions, but rather an immersive experience that penetrated deep into Superman's psyche, touching upon his deepest fears and anxieties.
