Chapter 184 This is Love

"Since you genuinely repent and are willing to pay the price for your actions, I'll give you a chance. After all, I'm not a petty or vengeful person. Do two things for me and I'll forgive you." Xiao Xian's voice was calm and deep, his gaze fixed on Erica, as if he could see into the depths of her soul. "First, you must resolve the root cause of all this—your lover."

Anyway, it wasn't Erica who killed him, so Xiao Xian really didn't hold a grudge.

Erica was startled by his words. She trembled as she looked up at the handsome Xiao Xian and asked, "I... what should I do?"

"I'll go right now!" Erica nodded. She still had feelings for Benoit Roberts, otherwise she wouldn't have conspired with him to turn her husband, Lex McKinney, into a vegetable.

But now that she's seen Xiao Xian, Erica's feelings for Benoit Robert aren't as strong as before, just like when Erica fell in love with Benoit Robert after marrying Lex McKinney.

Reaching the corridor, where Xiao Xian couldn't hear her, Erica dialed Benoit Robert's number.

"Beno, I really miss you. Could you come over for a bit? It's been a while since we last saw each other."

Upon hearing Erica's voice, Benoit Roberts eagerly agreed; he couldn't afford to offend this beautiful and wealthy woman. "Of course, I've been thinking of you. I'll be right there."

Soon after, Benoit arrived at Erica's luxurious villa. Erica, dressed in a carefully chosen outfit, greeted him with a gentle smile, but her heart was filled with disgust. It was because of this man that she had betrayed Lex McKinney, which led to Lex McKinney's current dislike of her.

If I had known Lex McKinney would become this handsome, I shouldn't have accepted Benoit Robert's advances.

"Let's have something to drink first," Erica said as she turned and walked toward the kitchen, her hand reaching into her pocket for the pills she had prepared beforehand.

Beno sat on the comfortable sofa, looking around, and suddenly felt a strange unease. He was somewhat curious about Erica's sudden invitation, but mostly delighted.

Erica returned to the living room with two glasses of water. She handed one to Benoit and sat down opposite him with the other. Benoit took the glass, his heart filled with sweetness and anticipation, oblivious to the fleeting panic in Erica's eyes.

"Drink up, for love." Erica gently raised her glass in a gesture of respect.

"For love~" Beno nodded with a smile and took a deep sip. Not long after, Beno began to feel dizzy, his vision blurred, and his voice was filled with confusion and unease: "Erica, I... I don't feel right."

"Of course something's wrong~" Xiao Xian walked down the stairs and looked at the two people in the living room. "Erica did a good job. Tie him up and bring him upstairs later."

"Okay, darling~" Erica said happily. As long as she could get Xiao Xian's forgiveness, she would sacrifice not only Benoit Roberts, but even her own life.

"You...you guys?!" Beno Roberts stared in shock at Erica calling Xiao Xian "darling," his hands and feet turning ice-cold. He didn't believe that Xiao Xian had Erica drug him just as a prank.

Xiao Xian hated himself for not understanding Benoit Roberts, but the question was, was Erica mentally ill? He and Erica had done it together: knocking Lex McKinney unconscious, turning him into a vegetable, and faking it.

Erica isn't really naive enough to think that Lex McKinney will forgive her just because she helps him deal with her, is she?

However, Benoit Roberts didn't have time to think too much before he fell into a coma. Erica then took out a prepared rope from the storage room and tied Benoit's hands and feet.

After tying the rope, Erica used all her strength to drag Beno up the stairs. Because she wasn't strong enough, Erica could only drag Beno up the stairs. Before they even reached the top, Beno woke up from his coma due to the frequent impacts and intense pain.

"Erica, listen to me, this is incredibly stupid! Do you really think Lex will forgive us? He won't! We only have one way out—to fight him together. Otherwise, after he kills me, you'll be next!"

"No, Benoit. I can't go on like this anymore. I've made my choice. Whatever Lex does to me, I will accept it. I will no longer run away; I will face my mistakes. He is the only one I truly love!"

"I love you my ass! We knocked him out together, drugged him together, and pushed him down the stairs together! Is that what you call love?" Beno broke down completely upon hearing this.

"You're pretending to be so devoted! You're just a cheating bitch! When you were at your husband's house, wearing clothes he bought for you, living in his house, lying on your wedding bed, under your wedding photos, cheating on me, why didn't you talk about love?! Why didn't you say he was your true love?!"

"The past is the past, and the present is the present! I was just immature and impulsive before. In fact, my heart has always belonged to only my husband, Lex McKinney!" Erica panicked upon hearing this and hurriedly shouted loudly to Xiao Xian to show her loyalty.

"Give me a break! It makes me sick! If I hadn't stopped you, you would have killed Lex McKinney!" Beno Roberts blurted out Erica's past scandals. Even if he died, he wouldn't let Erica get away with it.
