Chapter 252 The Joker's Head Turns Green

Chapter 252 The Joker's Head Turns Green

Xiao Xian looked at Harley and said, "Don't get agitated, tell me what happened."

Harley took a deep breath and began to explain what she had just discovered. "It was the Joker... he..." Her voice choked, but quickly regained its angry tone, "He betrayed me! In front of everyone!"

Xiao Xian frowned, signaling Harley to continue.

"We should teach him a lesson," Harley said through gritted teeth. "Let's go crazy and send him the video. Let him taste the bitterness of betrayal!"

After listening, Xiao Xian tried to calm the agitated Harley. "Calm down, Harley. Maybe there's some misunderstanding? The Joker might have his reasons."

Harley scoffed and pulled out her phone. "Misunderstanding? Look for yourself."

She turned her phone screen towards Xiao Xian. The screen showed a live stream: the clown was playing cards with Anna, a happy smile on his face.

"Does this seem like he has a reason?" Harley said sarcastically. "He wasn't coerced at all, yet he's happily playing cards with others. Does that even need explaining?"

After hearing Harley's words, Xiao Xian helplessly shrugged:

"Harley, you don't seem to have much grounds to criticize him for this. Didn't you play cards with me until very late last night?"

Harley frowned upon hearing this. Staring at the Joker and Anna's cheerful images on her phone screen, she gritted her teeth and said:

"I don't care about any of that! I'm furious right now, and I'm going to get my revenge!"

Xiao Xian leaned back lazily on the sofa, his gaze playfully sweeping over Harley standing before him. Harley, however, felt somewhat uneasy under Xiao Xian's gaze.

Xiao Xian slowly spoke, "Harley, tell me the truth. Are you just using these excuses because you're lusting after me?"

These words struck like a hammer blow, instantly shattering Harley's facade. Her once upright posture collapsed, and the anger on her face vanished. She began to stammer an explanation.

"No, no. You've got it wrong! I really just wanted to get back at the Joker. I had absolutely no intention of playing cards with you, really! Playing cards with you is so boring~ It's incredibly dull."

Xiao Xian narrowed his eyes slightly, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips. He deliberately drew out his words, "Is that so? Then if you really just want to get revenge on the clown and don't want to play cards with me..."

Xiao Xian paused, looking directly into Harley's eyes. "How about I find you some other card-playing buddies? I know a handsome and popular superhero who's signed with Osborn, and his card skills are just as good as mine. Want to give it a try?"

These words seemed to touch a nerve with Harley. She jerked her head up, a flicker of panic in her eyes. "No!" she blurted out, then realized she'd overreacted and quickly added, "I mean, I'm not that kind of person."

Harley bit her lower lip, as if making up her mind, and looked directly into Xiao Xian's eyes: "You can, but others can't! Especially Xiao Xian from Osborn, absolutely not."

Harley, who was confident she could resist the man in front of her, who was skilled at cards but average-looking, only allowed him to cheat physically but not emotionally. However, if the world's most handsome superhero, Xiao Xian, were to come along, and was equally skilled at cards, Harley knew she couldn't possibly resist him, not at all.

A silence fell over the room. Xiao Xian looked at Harley thoughtfully, as if pondering the deeper meaning of her words. Harley lowered her head, her fingers nervously twisting together, as if awaiting final judgment.

Xiao Xian looked at Harley, a meaningful smile appearing on his face: "Oh? Didn't you say before that I was bored playing cards?"

Caught off guard, Harley blushed and avoided Xiao Xian's gaze. She bit her lip, seemingly struggling internally, before finally admitting in a low voice, "Okay, I admit it, your card skills are indeed very strong. Playing cards with you is kind of interesting."

Xiao Xian raised an eyebrow and pressed, "Oh? Is it more fun playing cards with me, or with the clown?"

This question made Harley even more uneasy. She opened her mouth, but no sound came out; she just stammered and avoided Xiao Xian's gaze.

Seeing this, Xiao Xian gently spread his hands, his voice tinged with a hint of teasing: "Alright, since you're unwilling to tell me, then I'll make this my second request. Remember, you must tell the truth."

Harley looked up abruptly, a flicker of surprise and hesitation in her eyes. She took a deep breath, as if gathering her courage. Finally, she spoke, her voice soft but remarkably clear in the quiet room: "It's you. You're even better at cards, and playing cards with you is much more fun."

After saying that, Harley's face was completely red, like a ripe apple. She lowered her head, not daring to look at Xiao Xian's reaction, her fingers nervously twisting together.

Xiao Xian looked at Harley, who was usually rebellious and flamboyant, but was now as shy as a little girl, with great interest.

Xiao Xian smiled slightly, a hint of amusement in his eyes, and said, "Actually, I think you've already gotten your revenge on the Joker."

These words made Harley abruptly raise her head, a hint of surprise and confusion flashing in her eyes. Her cheeks were still flushed, but her gaze held a newfound determination.

"No!" Harley said urgently, her voice trembling slightly. "We...we have to play cards."

Xiao Xian raised an eyebrow, seemingly quite interested in Harley's reaction. He was about to speak when Harley interjected:

"And," Harley bit her lower lip, as if to encourage herself, "we have to record this. I have to get revenge with a card game."

Xiao Xian chuckled lightly, a hint of meaning in his eyes: "Fine, since you insist. But are you sure this is just to get revenge on the clown?"

Harley avoided Xiao Xian's probing gaze and muttered softly, "Dangdangran is doing this to get revenge on the Joker. What other reason could there be?"

The atmosphere in the room became even more ambiguous. Xiao Xian looked at Harley with a half-smile, while Harley tried her best to hide her nervousness and anticipation.

Finally, Xiao Xian nodded slightly: "Alright, since you insist, let's have a 'revenge' card game."

A flicker of joy crossed Harley's eyes upon hearing this, but it was quickly replaced by feigned composure. She said softly, "Then let's begin."

Xiao Xian's lips curled into a sly smile, and he gently shook his head: "Don't rush, Harley. We're still missing an important role."

Harley blinked in confusion: "What character?"

"The photographer," Xiao Xian said slowly, "think about it, the Joker's team is using professional equipment, and they even have two cameras. You can't let them outdo you, can you?"

Harley's eyes lit up instantly, clearly spurred on by Xiao Xian's words. She exclaimed excitedly, "You're right! We absolutely can't lose to that guy!"

Suddenly, Harley seemed to have an idea, and a sly smile appeared on her face: "I know who to ask. We can ask Poison Ivy for help! I had a hard time watching the card game yesterday, and she even made fun of me. Today, let her experience what it's like to watch a card game."
