Chapter 266 Harley the Butler

The television was broadcasting news of Alfred Pennyworth's surrender. The footage showed Alfred calmly walking into the police station and turning himself in. The camera then quickly cut to a press conference by a high-ranking police official, who solemnly announced:

"Alfred Pennyworth, the butler of Wayne Manor, has surrendered and admitted to involvement in multiple kidnappings. We will conduct a thorough investigation into this matter and will not tolerate any criminal activity."

Bruce Wayne sat in his spacious office, his expression stern. A thick stack of resumes lay on his desk, each representing a candidate. Bruce frowned as he carefully reviewed the resumes handed to him by his subordinates, meticulously selecting the right person.

Bruce flipped through the resumes page by page, sometimes pausing to read them carefully, sometimes gently shaking his head in disapproval. He reviewed the backgrounds, experiences, and abilities of the individuals on each resume, but none of them completely satisfied him.

Finally, his gaze settled on a resume for a woman named Eucliwood Kyle. The photo on the resume showed an elegant woman with a dignified face and a determined and intelligent look in her eyes. The resume described her as having served as a butler for several wealthy families, possessing extensive management and service experience, and being particularly adept at handling complex matters and crisis management.

Most importantly, Euclid Wood has a lovely daughter who attends a school affiliated with the Wayne Group. Euclid Wood loves her daughter very much. Euclid Wood chose to divorce her husband because he had beaten their daughter while drunk.

Bruce understood that if this kind of person controlled his daughter's life and death, she would never betray him.

Bruce read through Eucliwood's resume carefully, becoming more and more satisfied with it.

Bruce looked up at his subordinate standing to the side and said, "This guy is good. Tell him to come to work this afternoon."

The subordinate nodded and replied respectfully, "Yes, Mr. Bruce, I will contact Eucliwood immediately and have him report for duty this afternoon."

In Poison Ivy's home, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy surrounded Xiao Xian, watching a projection in front of them. The projection showed Bruce Wayne's office, where he was reviewing a pile of resumes and finally selected Eucliwood Kyle.

"Great! Hahaha!" Harley jumped up excitedly, unable to contain her joy. "I knew I made the right choice! The position of butler at Wayne Manor is mine!"

Poison Ivy looked at the projection with displeasure and said with a hint of disdain, "Bruce really has no taste. The ones I chose are clearly much better than Euclid Wood."

Harley turned to Poison Ivy and Xiao Xian, a confident smile on her face. "To make it easier to get into character, from now on, you two will call me Euclid Wood."

Poison Ivy shrugged and sighed helplessly. "Alright, Eucliwood."

Harley looked at Xiao Xian excitedly, her eyes filled with anticipation. "Xiao Xian, can you teach me magic now? I need to perfectly disguise myself as Eucliwood, and I can't do without magic."

Xiao Xian smiled slightly, waved his hand in the air, and conjured a thick magic book out of thin air, handing it to Harley.

"This is a crash course in English magic, containing all the spells you need. Familiarize yourself with these spells as soon as possible. Eucliwood will bring over her documents around noon, so be sure to carefully observe her speech patterns and mannerisms."

Harry took the spellbook, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She flipped through the pages and saw that the spells and instructions were all in English, which she could easily understand. Harry was so excited she almost jumped for joy. "Great! I'm going to practice right now!"

In the afternoon, Harley, disguised as Euclidean Wood, arrived at Wayne Manor on time for her job interview. She was dressed in a neat housekeeper's uniform, holding Euclidean Wood's identification documents, feeling both nervous and excited.

When she was led to Bruce's office, he was sitting behind his desk, flipping through a document. He looked up and stared sharply at Harley.

"Miss Eucliwood, please have a seat." Bruce gestured for her to sit in the chair opposite him.

Harley sat down as instructed, silently adjusting her breathing, trying her best to control herself from picking up the cup next to her and smashing it over Bruce's head.

Bruce set the documents aside and began a brief conversation with Harley. "Miss Euclidwood, I've reviewed your resume; your qualifications are quite impressive. However, I need to ensure you're fully committed to working for me."

Harley nodded. "I understand, Mr. Bruce. I will do my best in this job."

Bruce smiled slightly, his tone tinged with coldness, "I heard you have a child. As your employer, I will take good care of him. You can work here with peace of mind and don't need to worry about his education, medical care, or safety."

Harley felt a chill run down her spine upon hearing this, naturally sensing the underlying threat in Bruce's words. However, Euclid Wood's daughter was now being played by Poison Ivy.

Harley suppressed a smile and the urge to prank Poison Ivy, feigning fear and trepidation, and whispered...

"Thank you, Mr. Bruce. I will definitely do my job well and won't let you down."

Bruce nodded in satisfaction. "Very good. I hope you can adapt to your work here quickly."

As night fell, Wayne Manor gradually quieted down. Harley finished her work at the manor and pretended to go to sleep in her room. After confirming that no one was around, she quietly chanted a spell, opened a hidden magical portal, and silently returned to Poison Ivy's house.

Upon entering Poison Ivy's residence, Harley saw Poison Ivy nestled in Xiao Xian's arms. The intimate way the two were together stirred up a feeling of jealousy in her heart. Although they were good friends and had played cards together many times, she was still jealous.

Harley strode over and angrily accused her, "What are you doing? I'm working myself to death at Wayne Manor, and you're just eating here all by yourself!"

Poison Ivy lazily raised her head and glanced at Harley, then leaned comfortably back in Xiao Xian's arms, saying softly, "Harley, don't get so agitated. Bruce chose the resume, so you can't blame me. Besides, you weren't like this this morning."

Harley sat down on Xiao Xian's other side, fuming, and complained, "I'm starting to regret it. Bruce Wayne is such a pain in the ass. Being his butler is a nightmare. I have to suppress the urge to smash his head in and relay his instructions."

Xiao Xian chuckled and reached out to stroke Harley's hair. "If you want revenge, you have to be patient. Or you can use the collected evil power to cast spells to get things done."

"Precious evil power shouldn't be wasted on that kind of place. I haven't collected much all afternoon." Harley guided Xiao Xian's hand to where it should go, saying, "Unless he tries to take advantage of me, then I'll have to use magic."
