Hogwarts: Lacus doesn't want to be a witch who destroys nations.
Chapter 62 Triple Tonic
Armand pointed to the bottle of tricolor potion: "This potion, containing unknown powers, must not remain in the Rosier family's hands until the truth is revealed! I request that it be temporarily kept and studied by representatives of Hogwarts..."
"That's enough, my dear son."
He was interrupted by a calm voice, even with a hint of amusement, which was also amplified and came from the Rozier family's private room.
Augustin Rozier slowly stood up, straightened his cuffs, and looked at the shocked Armand on the stage with an almost pitying expression.
"Your courage is astounding, but equally naive."
Augustine's voice resounded throughout the hall, "I, Augustine Rozier, as the patriarch of the family, declare: The Rozier family's stance has indeed shifted to Lord Grindelwald's sorcerer party, but this has nothing to do with any memory magic. This is an autonomous choice we have made based on a clear understanding of the future of the greater magical world."
Armand was struck dumb, all color draining from his face. He stared at his father in disbelief, his lips trembling slightly: "No...it can't be...you've been controlled...it must be..."
"As for the whereabouts of that potion..." Augustine seemed not to hear his whisper, and smiled as he looked at Lux and Slughorn, who were equally shocked.
"Entrusting it to Hogwarts for safekeeping is a brilliant idea. Our Rozier family fully agrees. It's perfect for Hogwarts' Gobalot Prize winner to study it thoroughly, isn't it?" His smile was full of meaning.
Armand was completely stunned. His carefully planned scheme had become a complete joke in the face of his father's casual admission and go-with-the-flow attitude.
He reacted instantly, Armand turning sharply and attempting to use Apparition to escape.
"Stop the curse immediately!"
A calm female voice rang out, and the spell precisely interrupted Armand's Apparition, causing him to stumble and nearly fall.
It was Malena who made the move. She had moved to a position near the podium at some point, her wand pointing straight at her brother, her eyes cold and complex.
Almost simultaneously, several members of the Rozier family rushed out of the crowd like ghosts, and several binding spells accurately hit Armand, binding him tightly and rendering him unable to move.
The entire hall fell silent; everyone was stunned by this sudden family feud and political declaration.
The representative of the French Ministry of Magic, a wizard with a neatly trimmed goatee, stood up awkwardly and cleared his throat: "Ahem... Ladies and gentlemen, given that this matter involves... uh... internal family affairs and... personal political choices, and does not directly violate any laws... the Ministry of Magic will not intervene for the time being. This year's Gobalot Award ceremony... is now adjourned."
What should have been a grand celebration of the highest honor in the world of potions ended abruptly with a shocking political upheaval and family scandal.
The next day, the Daily Prophet published two explosive news stories side by side on its front page: one was the news of the Gobalote Award winner, and the other was a longer report.
"The Rosier family, a pure-blood noble family in France, has openly sided with Grindelwald! The eldest son of the family revealed this but was subdued!" "The French Ministry of Magic has stated that it is closely monitoring the incident but is maintaining a neutral stance."
Lux held the newspaper, looking at the bottle of "Force Elixir" quietly shimmering with light on the table, her feelings indescribably complex.
She never expected that the rune the system task required her to find would come into her hands in such a legitimate way.
[Runes can be absorbed at this current distance. Absorb them?]
What happens after it's recycled?
[Because the power of the runes themselves is too great, directly bearing runes will lead to mental collapse, and holding multiple runes will increase rune activity, thus accelerating the speed of void invasion. After absorbing them, the system converts the rune power and grants it to the host, with no other side effects.]
Lux raised an eyebrow, surprised that she couldn't use the rune directly. "Then let's try absorbing it first and see the effect."
The Force potion on the table flickered briefly and then disappeared.
[Rune absorbed]
"So fast? What about the rune effects?" Lux quickly asked.
[Triple Tonic: At level 3, you can use the Greedy Elixir for one hour, dealing bonus true damage to non-human wizard units. After the effect ends, you gain 40 gold.]
At level six, you can use a Force Elixir that lasts for one hour, increasing all your magical effects by 20%.
At level nine, you will receive a skill potion, which grants you one skill point upon use.
[Note: Once unlocked, the Greed Potion and Force Potion can be used once per month, while the Skill Potion can only be used once per month.]
Lux stroked her chin thoughtfully. It seemed there was no difference from the 101 version. It was probably impossible to achieve the same effect as Ryze in the background story through system absorption.
But can she really bear the original power of those runes?
"Calculate my current gold coin balance." Lux hadn't looked at her system panel in a long time.
[Currently completed 2 main quests, 0 long-term quests, 26 special quests, and learned 45 spells]
Current Gold Coins Remaining: 3180
"Wait a minute, when did I get so many?" Lux thought she only had 1380 gold coins, so where did the extra 1800 come from?
[Winning the Gobalot Award is a unique special quest with significant influence in the wizarding world; 1800 gold coins will be awarded.]
Lux rubbed her hands together and said, "Thanks to Slughorn for the open source. Without his help in writing the paper and using his connections, I might not have been able to win this award."
"I just drank the Greed Potion and made 40 for free, which is just enough to buy some equipment."
Lux had a thought, and a bottle of Greed Potion appeared in her hand. She tilted her head back and drank it down, her mouth filled with a metallic taste.
Lux then got up and went to Slughorn's room, explaining that the Rozier family would be coming to collect the potion soon. Slughorn waved his hand to indicate that he understood; he had never intended to get involved in this matter in the first place, and now that the Rozier family had taken the potion, it was a good thing.
After saying goodbye to Professor Slughorn, Lux turned around and saw that Malena Rozier had been quietly waiting for her.
The little witch's face regained its usual coldness, as if the thrilling events of yesterday had never happened.
"Miss Lux," Malena's voice was calm and even, "Father invites you to visit the manor again. We may need to discuss the aftermath of the incident in more detail."
"Sister, can you make some noise when you walk? Where did you find yourself?" Lux felt that she was going to be scared sick by Malena sooner or later. How could this person appear and disappear so mysteriously?
"Heh, get in the car."
Six beautiful flying horses pulled a luxurious carriage to the side of the road, and Lux was pulled into the carriage by Malena.
They soon returned to Rozier Manor.
The entrance to the dungeon is hidden at the end of an inconspicuous corridor in the west wing of Rosier Manor.
Malena tapped the rose relief on the wall three times with her wand, and the heavy stone wall silently slid inward, revealing a narrow stone staircase that extended downward, exuding a cold, musty smell and a faint magical aura.
"Father believes that Armand needs some... time to calm down and reflect." Malena took the lead and walked down the steps, her heels making a crisp sound as they hit the stone steps.
Lux followed closely behind. The air grew increasingly damp and cold, with water droplets condensing on the walls. At intervals along the walls on both sides, magical fluorite stones emitting a ghastly green light were embedded, distorting and deforming the figures.
"We've already used Legilimency on him, but everyone gets completely different memories. He's a master of mind control, so I'd like you to try and persuade him."
For the first time, a pleading glint appeared in Malena's brown eyes as she stared intently at Lux, making her feel somewhat uncomfortable.
"I'll give it a try."
At the end of the passage was a heavy iron gate covered with rust and ancient runes.
Malena waved her wand again, and the chains on the iron gate slid off on their own as if they were alive, revealing a huge dungeon behind the gate.
In the center was a stone pillar chained by several thick iron chains, where Armand Rozier was bound.
He had his head down, his dark brown curly hair plastered messily to his sweaty forehead, his face as pale as paper, and his lips chapped, but his eyes snapped open when he heard the door open.
"How come it's you?" Armand showed a surprised expression for the first time in the dungeon.
Malena wisely stood guard outside the door, giving the two a chance to talk.
