Hogwarts: Lacus doesn't want to be a witch who destroys nations.
Chapter 73 New Skills
Lux put down the basket and took the practice wand from Flitwick: "No problem! But Miranda, please don't go easy on me!"
Miranda walked to the dueling area in the center of the room with a smile: "Don't worry, I'll show you what Ravenclaw is all about."
The two stood behind the marked white line. Professor Flitwick called out "Begin," and Miranda made the first move. She didn't chant a spell; she simply raised her wand slightly, and a silent disarming charm shot straight at Lux's wand. Lux was prepared. With a flick of her wrist, a silent "Protective Armor" instantly activated. The red light struck the barrier and dissipated silently.
"Good reaction!" Professor Flitwick shouted from the side. "Try a counterattack! Use the Silent Levitation Charm!"
Lux took a deep breath, focused her mind, and tapped her wand on the ground near Miranda's feet. The stone slab beneath Miranda's feet suddenly rose slightly, causing her to stumble. She quickly used a Silent Charm to steady herself. Taking advantage of this opening, Lux launched her attack. A Silent Swift Restraint shot from the tip of her wand, wrapping around Miranda's wrist.
Miranda reacted swiftly, waving her wand and silently casting "Stop Curse" to dispel the binding spell, while simultaneously casting a silent stun spell straight at Lux's chest. Lux dodged to the side, waving her wand again. This time, she used a combination spell to silently obscure Miranda's vision, followed by a silent Exorcism spell aimed at her wand.
With a "clatter," Miranda's wand fell to the ground. She paused for a moment, then smiled and picked it up. "Impressive, Lux. You've only practiced for a few weeks, and you're already so proficient with the Silent Charm."
Lux wiped the sweat from her brow, her mind racing with the system panel. After the duel, the system notified her that her experience points had increased again, leaving her just one point away from level 5. "It's all thanks to the professor's excellent guidance!" she said with a smile, her eyes already planning her next sparring match.
In the following time, Lux sparred with Elena and Jones several times. Elena was skilled at using runic spells, and her "Armor" was more robust than Miranda's, requiring Lux to exert considerable effort to break through the barrier; Jones, on the other hand, preferred to use strange modified spells, such as the Disarming Charm that could bend, which almost caused Lux to drop her wand.
After each duel, the experience points on the system panel slowly increased. As Lux listened to Professor Flitwick explain the techniques, she muttered to herself, "Just a little bit more, just a little bit more..."
Finally, during a mock duel with Professor Flitwick, the opportunity arose. Professor Flitwick deliberately slowed down, guiding Lux to use a combination of Silent Charms and other techniques. First, she used her armor to block his Disarm Charm, then she used the Levitate Charm to disrupt his rhythm, and finally she finished the battle with Excalibur.
As Flitwick's wand fell to the ground, Lux suddenly heard a system notification:
[Congratulations, host, on completing the practical training! Experience points +5, level increased to level 4!]
[Leveling up grants attribute bonuses and 1 skill point]
Current health: 1810, mana: 400
All the skills you acquire are at the highest level. After level four, with each level up you can choose one of three random minor skills, or draw a random skill.
"Draw a random skill?" Lux had some doubts about this option.
The randomly drawn skills include a hero's ultimate skill or passive skill.
Want to become a gambler? That sounds interesting.
Miss Lux has watched gambling-themed films like Gambling Apocalypse, so how could she possibly fall for it?
But the thought of possibly drawing skills like Deliberate Punch or Divine Judgment...
"I'm betting, I'm betting on this one! I'll draw an Angel's ultimate and take off!" Lux finally revealed her true colors.
Then Lux saw a slot machine-style interface, and as she pulled the lever with her mind, three rows of skill icons started scrolling.
[A random skill has been randomly selected for you... 3... 2... 1]
"Angel's ultimate, Sett's skill, Hogwarts guillotine—anything will do! Please!"
The slot machine finally came to a slow stop, reaching a position that made Lux shudder.
[You have been randomly selected for a skill - Horror Box]
You can place a trap that will trigger and fear nearby enemy units when they approach.
"How could you possibly have such a skill! You might as well just give me a Human Bomber!" Lux's eyes were lifeless as she knelt on the ground, losing all her dreams and transforming into a long-haired golden rat.
"Lux, why did you suddenly collapse to the ground?" Miranda walked over, quite puzzled. Lux seemed to have been completely drained in an instant, which shouldn't be the case.
Lux propped herself up with her hands and said to Professor Flitwick and Miranda, "Professor, senior, I think I've had some insights into life today. I'll go back and rest now."
After saying that, without waiting for their response, she picked up Lumi, who was fast asleep on the ground, and staggered across the corridor, wanting to find a secluded place to comfort herself and study her new skills.
She was so distracted that, at the corner of a corridor, she bumped into a figure who had just come out of a nearby classroom with a loud "bang".
"Ouch!"
"Hmm!"
Two cries of pain rang out at the same time. Lux rubbed her sore nose, looked up, and was immediately a little embarrassed.
It was Malena Rozier, the thick potion tomes she had been holding scattered on the floor, her face cold as she stared at her with a look that seemed to say, "What's wrong with you now?"
"Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going..." Lux instinctively bent down to help her pick up the books.
Malena took the book, expressionlessly brushing the dust off the cover, her sharp eyes never leaving Lux's face. "Miss Lux," her voice was devoid of emotion, "you seem to be avoiding me lately."
Lux's heart skipped a beat, and her eyes began to dart around: "Really? Haha... Maybe it's because there have been a lot of club activities lately, you know, dueling practice..."
"Is that so?" Malena's tone was flat. "I thought that since we returned from Paris, you had developed a different opinion of me, or of the Rozier family."
"Absolutely not!" Lux denied immediately, but her voice was a little weak. "The Rozier family's pastries are absolutely amazing, I miss them terribly!"
Marlena stared at her for a few seconds, until Lux was sweating profusely, before suddenly speaking. Her tone softened abruptly, even carrying a hint of... awkwardness.
"Since there isn't one, then this weekend is perfect. Come with me to Hogsmeade. I need to buy some personal items, and you'll come with me."
"Huh?" Lux was stunned, completely unprepared for this turn of events.
