I'm in the Dragon Clan, bound to the Naruto Counterattack System
Chapter 25 Illusion Trial
Cheng Sui sat on the table, gazing out the window listlessly.
It was a beautiful day. The sun was high in the sky, and the sunlight streamed down through the clouds, leaving a large patch of light on Cheng Sui's table.
The sunlight shone on Cheng Sui's face, making him feel drowsy.
Schneider stood on the podium with his hands behind his back. Cheng Sui met his gaze, then immediately looked away. The man's eyes gave off the same unpleasant feeling as his voice, like a vulture.
Fingel stood behind Schneider, looking around, occasionally licking his fingers as if savoring the taste of the family bucket he had just had.
The black curtain wall fell silently from the interlayer of the carved wooden window, and all the windows were sealed off in an instant. Cheng Sui felt as if he were sitting in a movie theater before the movie started.
The classroom wall lights came on, and Fingel handed Cheng Sui an A4-sized test paper and a sharpened pencil.
As expected, the exam paper was completely blank.
Just then, a melodious and poignant erhu piece suddenly began playing from the broadcast system in the upper left corner of the classroom; it was none other than "Moon Reflected in the Second Spring."
In my freshman year, the broadcasting system played The Beatles' "Hey Jude," but by my senior year, it had changed to "Erquan Yingyue." It seems that Kassel College's efforts in localization over the years have really paid off, as even the 3E exam repertoire has changed from psychedelic rock to classical Chinese literature.
Cheng Sui complained inwardly, but his eyes grew increasingly blurry, and the drowsiness brought on by the sunlight grew stronger.
No way, it reacted so quickly?
This was Cheng Sui's last consciousness.
When Cheng Sui woke up, she found herself still in the classroom, with the sunlight still shining through the window.
What's going on? Is the exam over?
No! All the windows were closed before the exam, and I was still in a state of spiritual vision.
Cheng Sui stood up and walked to the window, looking out. What he saw made his pupils suddenly contract.
Outside the classroom, a vast, broken ice field had appeared out of nowhere. Beneath Cheng Sui's feet, a gigantic dragon swam, its dark blue scales opening and closing repeatedly. The majestic dragon, as imposing as a king, raised its neck, its lava-like vertical pupils staring at him.
A colossal bronze pillar pierced the sky, and the alchemical matrix on the pillar was activated one by one, bringing the entire bronze complex to life. Two figures, one tall and one short, stood at the top of the bronze pillar, looking up at the sky not far away with solemn expressions.
Cheng Sui also looked up at the sky. A huge black dragon was circling in the sky, its wings covered with corpses. Its huge wing membranes were spread open, and the sky was blocked by the dragon's wings, plunging the land into endless despair and darkness.
An iceberg suddenly rose from the ice field, and the black dragon in the sky seemed to be struck hard by something higher up. Its body, which was big enough to cover the sky, crashed down, and the iceberg pierced through its body.
A fierce dragon roar echoed across the world, and blood flowed down from the iceberg, converging at its foot into a raging torrent of crimson.
After an unknown amount of time, Cheng Sui saw crowds of people climbing up the dragon's wings. Those who reached the top surrounded the dragon's head, and they used sharp iron spikes to nail into the dragon's skull. White fluid gushed out like a fountain, and the humans cheered deafeningly, dancing around the dragon's head.
Cheng Sui was utterly shocked by what he saw. Just as he was stunned, a line of words suddenly appeared in his eyes.
[You were patrolling the village as usual when suddenly the scene before you changed. You realized you were trapped in an illusion created by an unknown enemy, and you knew you had to escape immediately, or the consequences would be dire.]
[Quest: Break Free from the Illusion]
[Quest Completion Rewards: Increased Illusion Resistance, Illusion: Dark Walk]
Cheng Sui looked at the endless ice field before him, clenched his fists, and gave a wry smile.
He knew it was an illusion caused by his spiritual vision, but the problem was that he couldn't get rid of it. Even if the concentration was low, there was indeed dragon blood in his body, so he couldn't resist the influence of the Emperor's Word of Power.
Wait, if I were a hybrid from this world, there might be no way to deal with it, but I also have power within me that doesn't belong to this world!
Currently, the only thing Cheng Sui can associate with illusion magic is those Sharingan eyes.
But how can I use the power of the Sharingan to get rid of the effects of the spiritual vision?
Cheng Sui mobilized the portion of chakra belonging to the Uchiha bloodline within his body, allowing this chakra, filled with a dark and cold aura, to gather in his brain.
Since the 3E exam's spiritual vision is triggered by chanting dragon incantations, it must be related to one's own brain.
I wonder if I can use the Yin Release chakra belonging to the Uchiha clan to counter the Spirit Vision and thus free myself from the illusion.
Under the onslaught of Yin Release chakra, the scene before Cheng Sui gradually shattered.
You made the right bet!
Cheng Sui was overjoyed; his guess was correct! Using Yin Release chakra, which did not belong to this world, could indeed break the illusion.
[Mission Completed: Illusion Broken]
[Quest Completion Rewards: Increased Illusion Resistance, Illusion: Dark Walk]
He rubbed his throbbing temples. As an A-level high-level illusion technique, the Dark Walk Technique was still too complicated for a novice like himself with zero illusion technique foundation. Therefore, the memories transmitted by the system were also very complex, truly enabling him to master this illusion technique from scratch.
I glanced at the time and realized that only five minutes had passed.
Turning his gaze back to the table, Cheng Sui's smile vanished instantly.
The answer sheet, which was originally blank, is still blank. Cheng Sui covered his face, thinking that he was doomed. Would he drop from grade C to grade F and sit at the same table as Fingel?
Schneider also noticed Cheng Sui's condition and said in a hoarse voice, "There is no time limit for submitting the 3E exam before it ends. If your spiritual vision state has ended, you can submit your paper now. Similarly, if you have not yet entered spiritual vision state, you can choose to stay in the classroom."
Cheng Sui sighed helplessly, wrote his student ID and name on the answer sheet, and stood up: "I choose to hand in my paper, Professor Schneider."
Schneider nodded, and Fingel quickly stepped forward to take Cheng Sui's answer sheet. When he saw the answer sheet, he gave Cheng Sui a strange look, but he didn't say anything. He just handed the answer sheet to Schneider.
Schneider took the answer sheet, his brow twitching almost imperceptibly; it was hard to imagine that the usually serious head of the executive department would make such an expression.
But what's even more unbelievable is that Cheng Sui, who has been making waves at Kassel College these days, actually submitted a blank paper for the 3E exam.
Schneider didn't say anything, took Cheng Sui's blank exam paper, and left with the trolley.
"Junior, I used to think you were no good, but now I feel you're as righteous as Guan Yu. You even felt I was too lonely and were willing to become an F-rank with me." Fingel gave Cheng Sui a thumbs up.
