Chapter 353 Euron's Ship - The Zhiyuan
The sky was a clear, cloudless expanse, and the bright sunlight poured down relentlessly onto the rugged rocks and bustling harbor of Ironship Island.
The sea breeze was gentle, stirring only tiny ripples, as if heaven and earth were deliberately holding their breath to make way for a grand ceremony.
Countless Ironborn warriors gathered on the high ground along the coast and around the docks, their gazes fixed on the colossal machine in the shipyard—Euron's ship, a massive vessel about to set sail. It was also the flagship of the Summer Islands in this battle.
Before it even touched the water, its shadow already covered half the beach, making the ordinary longboats moored beside it look like children's toys.
The ship's hull is not typical of Westeros; its lines are more grotesque and fluid, like a tamed, armored deep-sea beast lying dormant, waiting to be awakened.
What is most striking is its unique dark red woody sheen. The wood grain seems to contain flowing flames, shimmering with an almost metallic texture in the sunlight—this is the Adam Tree that Euron obtained through the One Piece system lottery, stronger than steel yet lighter than a feather, giving this giant ship an unparalleled foundation.
The towering prow was carved into the head of a roaring, gigantic sea monster, its gaping maw seemingly capable of devouring any ship that dared to stand in its way. The sides of the ship were not smooth wooden planks, but covered with layers upon layers of dark metal plates, like dragon scales, their sharp edges gleaming coldly in the sunlight.
It lay there motionless, yet a chilling sense of oppression permeated the air. This oppression did not stem from its ornate decorations, but from its sheer size, its indestructible materials, and its aggressive design—a pure symbol of power. It was less like a ship and more like a sea fortress about to set sail, a divine artifact born for conquest and destruction.
All the Ironborn who witnessed it were filled with a mixture of awe, pride, and an irrepressible fervor. They knew that when this deep-sea beast, forged from the precious tree Adam, cleaved through the waves, the entire Summer Sea would tremble.
Euron stood at the bow of the ship and made a simple yet powerful gesture, and the huge supporting timber was smashed open at the same time!
The colossal ship emitted a deep, resonant groan, as if from a primordial beast—the heavy creak of its keel rubbing against the tracks. It began to move, slowly at first, with an unstoppable majesty, gliding along the greased tracks toward the sea.
The speed increased rapidly, the massive bow cleaving through the air, creating a whistling sound. Finally, the menacing sea monster's bow plunged violently into the azure sea—"BOOM!!!"
A deafening roar, like a thunderclap, erupted! A massive white wave shot skyward, dozens of feet high, as if detonated. The enormous ship rocked violently upon entering the water, then was firmly held aloft by its superior design and buoyancy, floating majestically on the seabed like a mountain anchored to its rocky shore, its shadow almost completely obscuring the inner bay.
This colossal ship was larger than imagined, capable of withstanding any storm. It could carry at least a thousand crew members and warriors without feeling crowded. This included sailors who operated the giant sails, fierce boarding soldiers, operators of catapults and ballistae, and the necessary craftsmen and officers.
Inside the hull is another world.
Below deck, it was not as oppressive as a traditional longship; it had a higher deck and a more rational layout. The lowest level contained incredibly sturdy ballast and huge storage compartments, enough to hold fresh water, food, and spoils to sustain a voyage for several months.
The ship has neatly arranged windows on both sides, and the interior contains giant crossbows designed specifically for naval warfare, capable of accommodating dozens of heavy stone-throwing crossbows.
Above the main deck is the crew hammock area, which is spacious. The armory is located in the middle of the hull for quick access and displays gleaming battle axes, spears, and crossbows.
The captain's cabin, Captain Euron's domain, was exceptionally spacious, featuring a massive stern window inlaid with reinforced crystals that offered a panoramic view of the entire fleet. Inside, there were heavy, dark wooden tables fixed to the deck, walls adorned with detailed nautical charts, and a cabinet storing valuable items and books—a rugged yet functional space.
Adjacent to the captain's cabin is a smaller compartment for important officers, ensuring they have privacy and command space during long voyages.
The three towering mainmasts are the heart of this ship. The masts are exceptionally strong and capable of supporting the enormous vessel, providing it with ferocious speed.
Euron stood beside the menacing figurehead of the sea monster, facing the howling sea wind. He drew his long sword and pointed it at the sky, his voice booming like thunder across the entire coastline: "A new ship needs the blood and breath of warriors to awaken it! Who wants to be among the first to step onto the back of this sea monster? Follow me! Let us set sail, let it taste the sea, and let the ocean witness our might!"
"I'll do it!"
Count me in!
"Lord of the Sea Monsters, take me with you!"
His response was a thunderous, fervent roar.
The eager soldiers of the Iron People's Army, like a flood bursting its banks, roared with excitement as they surged from the docks, the reefs, and the hillsides. They raced up the gangplank, their agile figures quickly filling the deck. Almost instantly, the vast deck of the giant ship was packed with restless figures, each with burning eyes, filled with anticipation for their maiden voyage.
Euron turned around, looking at his elite troops, a satisfied smile spreading across his face. He waved his hand: "Raise the sails! Weigh anchor!"
With the command flag waved, the well-trained sailors quickly took their positions.
The massive, crimson sails slowly rose along the mast, finally unfurling with a whoosh, fully catching the sea breeze. The heavy anchor was slowly pulled up with the roar of the winch.
The giant ship emitted a deep hum, as if a giant beast had awakened.
It began to move, its massive hull gracefully and powerfully cleaving the azure sea, carving a deep and broad white wake. The speed increased, cutting through the waves ahead, the icy spray from the bow scattering like shattered jade onto the faces of the excited warriors on deck, eliciting an even louder cheer.
The giant ship smoothly cleaved through the deep blue waves. Euron stood by the railing, feeling the power of the steel and precious tree Adam beast beneath his feet.
Asara quietly approached him, the sea breeze ruffling the hair on her forehead. "Eulen," she whispered, "this giant ship doesn't have a name yet."
In the original story, Euron's warship was named the Serenity, and the crew members were all mute with their tongues cut out in order to achieve absolute tranquility.
Euron paused, his gaze returning to the boundless sea, as if asking himself, and perhaps the ship itself, "So, what should I call my new ship?"
Before he finished speaking, the three sisters, as if drawn by invisible threads, immediately crowded forward, their clear voices ringing out in unison: "Call it Ocean!" Rachel was the first to suggest, her eyes filled with longing for the unknown seas.
"No, call it the Conqueror!" Nitil shouted immediately afterward, the name brimming with the Ironborn's domineering spirit.
"The Sea Monster is still the best!" Zoia concluded, believing it best represented the family's prestige.
Euron listened, then simply smiled and shook his head.
Undeterred, the three sisters immediately put forward a new round of suggestions: "The Drowning God's Son!" Rachel tried to find inspiration from faith.
"The Fury of the Tides!" Nitil thought of the power of the sea.
"Call of the Abyss!" Zoia's suggestion carried a hint of mysterious whisper.
Youlun was amused by their enthusiastic suggestions for naming their child, and laughed out loud, raising his hand to interrupt their potentially endless suggestions.
"The Iron Islands and totems, conquest and intimidation—it's too ostentatious and vulgar." Euron turned around, his gaze sweeping over Ashara and the three sisters, and smiled. "Let's call it 'The Reach.'"
Youlun preferred more subtle names. He thought to himself: "Tranquility leads to far-reaching goals. This name will remind me that my journey is a vast ocean and an unknown future."
