Chapter 363 With a Beautiful Wife by My Side
The clamor of the banquet receded like the tide, and Yangji City returned to tranquility under the starlight and moonlight.
Asara carried Alexander, while Euron led Rhaenys and Caesar, as they walked with Princess Elia through the winding corridors inside the castle.
The bronze torches on the corridor walls shimmered with a warm glow as we arrived at the Sun Tower, a symbol of the Martell family's authority.
The tower has a high, wide dome, and the walls are adorned with colorful tapestries depicting the ancient legends of Dorne. The air is filled with the subtle fragrance of spices and jujube wood.
"While I sail to the Summer Isles," Euron paused, his gaze falling on Asara and Alexander sleeping peacefully in her arms, his voice clear in the empty tower, "you and the child will stay here with Elia."
It wasn't a discussion, but a pre-arranged plan, yet its implications go far beyond that. It was both entrusting their most precious vulnerability to Dorne—this trust itself being the strongest oath of alliance—and finding a solid and warm sanctuary for Ashara and the children, far from the storms of the sea and the bloodshed of war.
Ashara raised her violet eyes and exchanged a knowing glance with Ilya. She nodded gently, saying nothing, but simply held the child in her arms tighter. Staying in Dorne, staying with her dearest friend, was perhaps the best arrangement for her during this expedition.
Ilya stepped forward, gently taking Ashara's arm, and said to Euron, "Don't worry, they'll be safe in Sunspear." Her promise was soft, yet carried an undeniable firmness.
Asara carefully placed Alexander in the cradle in the room, a cradle that Rhaenys had slept in, and that Caesar had slept in, and now it had a new owner.
Five-year-old Rhaenys and three-year-old Caesar clung cautiously to the edge of the carved cradle, their bright eyes filled with curiosity.
Alexander lay in the soft velvet swaddling clothes, his violet eyes, inherited from his mother, wide open. Faced with the two little faces that suddenly appeared, he was not afraid at all. Instead, he waved his lotus-root-like white hands and feet, making soft, babbling sounds, as if he were greeting his new older brother and sister in his own language.
Rhaenys stretched out her tiny finger and gently touched Alexander's cheek, the touch like the smoothest, warmest jade. Her gesture carried a tenderness unique to older sisters. Seeing Alexander giggle at her, she turned back with delight and whispered to her brother Caesar, "Look, he likes me!"
Little Caesar, imitating his sister, awkwardly touched Alexander's little hand with his shorter, chubby fingers, which the infant instinctively grasped tightly. He giggled and looked up at Ilya and Ashara, who were approaching, announcing, "He caught me! He's so strong!"
Around the cradle, the laughter of children and the babbling of babies intertwined, infusing the room with precious innocence and vitality.
Princess Rhaenys was born in 280 AC on Dragonstone. Before she was even a year old, she returned to Dorne with her mother, Elia, and Euron. They traveled together to Harrenhal, where the tournament of matches took place, resulting in a marital crisis that shook the Seven Kingdoms. From 281 AC onwards, Rhaenys never saw her father, Prince Rhaegar again.
The passage of time has blurred Rega's face; in her memory, it is just a distant and unfamiliar name and a vague shadow.
In contrast, Euron was the one who had been by her side all these years.
Euron would clumsily check if she had fallen on the cobblestones, listen to her mumbled stories of her naive experiences, and have the night watchwoman light all the lamps when she woke up from a nightmare. He would hold her and tell her stories of sailing.
Unbeknownst to her, this man, known to outsiders as the "Lord of the Sea Monsters," had already taken on the role of a father in her young heart and assumed the responsibilities of a father.
When little Caesar began to babble, clearly calling out "Father," and always receiving a strong response and being lifted high by Euron, Rhaenys hid behind the pillars, heartbroken for a long time. That subtle sense of exclusion gripped her little heart.
Ilya saw her daughter's silent grievance and felt a pang of heartache, but she didn't know how to resolve this conflict.
Until one day, Euron returned from the sea, travel-worn. He strode into the garden, his gaze sweeping over Rhaenys, who was playing with her dolls by herself. He went over, asked nothing, simply bent down, and lifted her high above his head, just as he sometimes did to Caesar. The smell of sea breeze and gunpowder instantly enveloped the little girl.
"My precious little princess," Euron laughed heartily, his voice carrying the scent of the sea, "I'm back."
Her vision suddenly rose, and the world spun beneath her feet. Rhaenys's heart pounded, a surge of courage she'd never felt before welling up within her. She looked down at Euron's weathered face, a face that remained unguarded towards her, and asked in a voice barely audible yet crystal clear, "Father—may I...may I call you that?"
Euron's movements abruptly stopped, and his arm holding her seemed to stiffen for a moment. A look of surprise flashed across his face, and he appeared somewhat at a loss. He slowly lowered the little girl until she could look him in the eye.
He didn't say anything, but simply placed a warm kiss on her forehead.
"Of course," Euron's voice was deeper than ever, yet utterly certain, "my daughter."
From that day on, the sun finally shone brightly into the little princess's heart without any gloom. Euron also gained a lovely daughter who was not related to him by blood on that day.
Euron sat on the ground, with Rhaenys and little Caesar nestled beside him like two affectionate kittens. His rough fingertips gently stroked his daughter's delicate cheek and then ruffled his son's soft curls.
Asara and Ilya sat on either side of him, as if guarding a precious jewel. Looking at the three laughing children before him, and feeling the silent companionship of the two women beside him, an unprecedented, almost dizzying warmth washed over Euron's chest. He suddenly felt that his ambition to conquer the Seven Kingdoms, the glory of his invincible fleet, all paled in comparison to this moment of peace. With his beautiful wife by his side and his children surrounding him, there was no greater happiness in the world.
"It's very convenient here," Ilya said, tilting her head slightly and speaking softly as if in a whisper. "Sunspear City is always open to you. You can come back and see the children whenever you have time."
Upon hearing this, Asara smiled knowingly and added, "Yes, compared to some people who have to travel back and forth, this saves a lot of trouble."
Ilya's cheeks flushed instantly, her eyes darting away in a panic: "What—what, running around in both directions—"
""
"After he gained that ability to come and go as he pleased," Ashara said, her smile deepening with a knowing slyness. "He couldn't possibly abandon Caesar. Rather than letting him spend his days in brothels across the Narrow Sea, attracting a bunch of dubious lovers, I'd rather he come to see his sister more often. At least here, it's clean and reassuring."
Ilya blushed even more and whispered reproachfully, "Ashara—"
Asara turned her gaze to the three children playing, her tone softening yet firm: "Even Rhaenys willingly calls him 'Father,' so Euron must fulfill his responsibilities as a father. If he dares to betray that trust, even I will despise him." She then shifted her tone, a hint of mockery in her voice, and glanced back at Euron. "Alright, let's not talk about that. In short, we need to keep a close eye on him from now on; he's already promiscuous enough."
Euron listened to this conversation with a complex expression of helplessness and satisfaction on his face. He stretched out his strong arms, one in each hand, and gently embraced Ashara and Ilya by the waist, leading them towards him.
"With you all here," his voice was deep and filled with undeniable sincerity, "I have had enough for this lifetime."
Ilya leaned on his shoulder, but suddenly looked up and asked softly, "Then—where's Lisa?"
Ashara immediately followed, a mischievous smile on her face: "And the Red Woman, Gwendolyn?"
Having lurked in the shadows of the curtain, the three sisters of Lonely Lamp Island peeked out like ghosts, saying, "No, no, 6"
"Yes, not only that, not only that."
"We're still here!"

The smile on his face froze instantly. He opened his mouth, only to find himself once again unable to defend himself, and could only let out a long sigh, a mixture of happiness and immense headache.
