Chapter 370 Warrior Queen - Alicia
Isla Mujeres, like a forgotten secret realm, stands alone in the azure waters north of Valano.
For over a thousand years, the river of time has flowed quietly over this island, protecting the descendants of the ancient and unique legendary warrior queen, Nymeria.
As its name suggests, this is a world that belongs purely to women, and no men are welcome to come here.
In the heart of the island lies a mysterious spring surrounded by ancient white stones.
The clear spring flows year-round, gleaming with a faint, pearly luster unlike that of ordinary water.
Legend has it that anyone, regardless of gender, who drinks the water from this spring will inevitably have daughters as their offspring.
Many consider this a mere legend, such as Oberyn Martell, known for his extensive knowledge and unconventional temperament. Upon hearing of this, he visited the island with skepticism and, almost defiantly, tasted the spring water himself. Fate gave him the most direct answer—all eight of his illegitimate children were girls. This leaves him only able to offer a complex, bitter smile whenever the matter is mentioned.
The women on the island, as heirs to the Nymeria bloodline, follow ancient traditions to perpetuate the noble and pure lineage of the Nymeria Warrior Queen. Sometimes they travel to other islands, or briefly indulge in sexual relations with fortunate sailors who happen to be chosen during their voyages, drawing sustenance from them.
After their first time together, they would not marry any man, nor would they allow men from other tribes to stay on the island for long. They raised their daughters independently, passing down the story of Nymeria and their martial arts from generation to generation, thus ensuring that the bloodline of the Warrior Queen remained forever pure along the maternal line, just like the seawater surrounding the island, unchanged for millennia.
Obaya Shad and Nymeria Shad set foot on the unique beach of Isla Mujeres.
The salty sea breeze carries the island's unique, sweet scent, a blend of wildflowers and vegetation.
They were immediately spotted by the island's patrolling female warriors. These agile women with sharp, eagle-like eyes approached silently and warily. After confirming their identities and intentions, they led them deeper into the island.
The two were taken to a wooden and stone hall located in the center of the island, built next to an ancient white stone spring.
The ruler of this land is Alicia, the current queen of Women's Island and a direct descendant of the warrior queen Nymeria.
Queen Alicia sat on a large throne carved from ebony.
Her figure was unforgettable at first glance—long and well-proportioned, yet far from frail; smooth muscle lines rippled across her bare arms and back like waves, a powerful beauty forged from years of wielding swords and steering ships. Her broad shoulders and back were strong enough to withstand storms and responsibilities, her waist and abdomen taut like a fully drawn bowstring, concealing astonishing explosive power. Her long legs were straight and powerful, as if born to stand at the bow of a ship or on horseback.
Her skin was a healthy, sun-kissed bronze, shimmering with a soft, mother-of-pearl-like sheen in the dappled light filtering through the foliage in the hall. Her indigo eyes were like the deepest trenches, both profound and bright. Her thick, dark eyebrows naturally formed an elegant arch, yet their peaks were sharp as blades, resembling two crescent moons hanging in the night sky when calm, but twisting into a rope of majesty and power when furrowed.
Her high, straight nose descended almost flawlessly from between her brows, the tip of which had a subtle, downward curve, outlining the proud pride inherited from the ancient noble bloodline of Loyna. Her lips were full, with a well-defined lip line, and a clear, shallow groove in the center of her upper lip added a unique charm and approachability when she smiled, revealing two rows of snow-white teeth.
What is most striking is her long, deep black hair, like an untamed black waterfall, flowing freely without any restraint, surging and flowing over her shoulders and back with her movements—this is not only a display of personal style, but also a silent tribute to the "free as the tide" spirit of Loyna's ancestors.
She sat there quietly, naturally exuding a complex yet harmonious aura: the sharpness of a warrior who had been through countless battles shone in her eyes, the composure of a ruler who controlled the overall situation was revealed in her posture, and the delicate softness and understanding inherent in women could also be subtly captured in the micro-expressions of her listening.
Obaya and Nymeria Shad respectfully performed a Dornish and island-style greeting, offering their highest regards to the Queen.
Queen Alicia's sharp, eagle-like gaze lingered on their faces for a moment before warm familiarity appeared. She stood up and, without hesitation, opened her arms, giving them a strong and sincere embrace—a greeting between people of the same ancestral bloodline, embracing another branch of the Nymeria Warrior Queen from faraway Dorne.
"Welcome back, my sisters." Her voice carried a hint of emotion at a long-awaited reunion. They had trained and lived together for many years when they were young, forging a deep friendship.
After exchanging pleasantries, Nymeria Shad solemnly took out a letter sealed with the Martell family's wax seal and presented it to Alicia, saying solemnly, "This is a personal letter from Prince Doran to you."
Alicia took the letter, returned to her throne, and began to read it intently.
The Isle of Women, secluded and rarely in contact with the outside world, was completely unaware of the Iron Islands and the impending expedition by Prince Jalabah Thal. As she read on, a flicker of shock crossed her indigo eyes, quickly turning into a sense of lingering fear.
She slowly put down the letter, her voice lowering: "Please thank Prince Doran for me. If it weren't for his early warning, when the Iron Islands fleet loomed like a dark cloud, we would have been completely unaware, and it would have been—a catastrophe." She accurately summarized Doran's intentions: "In his letter, he said: 'Let us support the Prince of Redflower Valley and help him become the King of Summer Islands.' He told us not to be enemies with the Iron Islands and to stand with the victors of the future."
"Yes, Your Majesty," Nymeria Shad confirmed.
Queen Alicia rose, walked to the window, and gazed at the tranquil islands and playing children outside. Her back was resolute and determined. "Given the power the Iron Islands have displayed, we cannot confront them head-on. Therefore, the only way to protect our people is to go with the flow and make the wisest choice." She turned around and slowly said, "I have heard of the Iron Islands, and I have heard of the name of the Lord of the Sea Beasts. He indeed possesses the power to trample the rules. If we can gain his recognition, we can truly guarantee our safety."
Her words carried a hint of helplessness and resentment: "In fact, our island, which is inhabited only by women, has been harassed by pirates and human traffickers for years, and we are already fed up with it. They are like rats in the gutter, and have even sneaked in to kidnap our sisters and sell them to slave markets in distant places!" This accumulated humiliation became one of the driving forces behind her decision.
A gleam of delight flashed in Nymeria Shad's eyes: "So, Your Majesty, you don't object to cooperating with us?"
Queen Alicia returned to her throne, her posture regaining its composure and resolve. "I am willing to cooperate! However, even if we acknowledge Jalabah Thal as King of the Summer Isles, we must obtain his promise to guarantee the independence and autonomy of the Isles of Women for millennia. No outsider may interfere with our internal traditions and way of life."
“Of course!” Nymeria Shad responded immediately. “That has already been taken into consideration. Prince Jalabar Sol has personally promised that what he desires is a peaceful, unified, and stable Summer Islands, and he will never force any change to the ancient beliefs and traditions of any island.”
Queen Alicia nodded in satisfaction. She took a deep breath, her voice carrying the unquestionable authority of a queen, and declared, "Send word to gather all the warriors on the island and prepare our spears and bows. The Isle of Women will fully support Jalabah Thal in his ascension to the throne!"
