Chapter 417 Farewell Kiss

As dusk deepens, looking northeast from the highest point of Valhalla, one can already see a dazzling array of lights, like a galaxy, on the distant horizon – Qarth, the legendary city of immense wealth with its triple walls, silently displaying its splendor in the night.

On the seaside hillside of Vajal Island stands a magnificent residence.

It has white, arched walls and arched windows inlaid with stained glass. It once belonged to a great merchant of the ancient spice guild of Qarth and is a symbol of his wealth and power here.

When word got that the Iron Islands fleet was arriving, the wealthy merchant had already hastily boarded a ship and fled back to Qarth with his core ledgers and most valuable goods, leaving behind only this luxurious but empty mansion. It now serves as Euron's temporary lodging in Valhal.

Inside the mansion, the faint, elegant scent of some expensive oriental incense, a favorite of the original owner, still lingered in the air, mingling with the salty tang of the sea breeze.

Euron stood on the spacious terrace, while Lisa stood quietly in the shadows on the inner side of the room, like a beautiful sculpture.

Euron's fingers gently brushed across Lisa's smooth cheek, the movement carrying a tender lingering touch.

Lisa hugged Euron's waist and gently closed her eyes.

"We're almost at Qarth now." Euron withdrew his gaze and asked softly, "Are you ready?"

Lisa Garfield didn't avoid his gaze; her eyes were like tempered steel, resolute and pure. She took a deep breath, nodded solemnly, and said in a soft but unwavering voice, "Everything is ready, just as we planned."

A complex emotion flickered in Euron's eyes. He clicked his tongue slightly, his tone carrying a genuine sigh: "Tsk—to be honest, I'm really a little reluctant to let her go." His fingertips traced her jawline as he chuckled softly: "For more than ten years, you've always been by my side."

Lisa's eyelashes trembled slightly, and she replied almost immediately, "Then I won't leave."

"Hahaha—" Euron laughed in a low voice upon hearing this. He withdrew his hand and shook his head. "That won't do." His tone became resolute: "I promised you a crown of Queen Qarth."

How can a gift be considered given if it is never actually worn on one's head?

As night deepened, the sound of the waves outside the window grew clearer. Euron gazed at Lisa's soft silhouette in the moonlight, then suddenly chuckled softly, "While it's still early—"

Before he finished speaking, he gently took her hand, and then a passionate kiss landed on her, igniting the night with an undeniable possessiveness.

In a moment of passion, Lisa buried her face in his neck and said in a soft but clear voice, "Once everything settles down—I want to have a child for you, just like Alicia did." She paused, her tone softening even more, "A boy or a girl, it doesn't matter."

After a deep and prolonged passionate encounter in bed, only the sound of their intertwined breaths remained in the quiet room.

As dawn approached, on the dock, besides Lisa Garfield, there were three other notable companions.

The Peacekeeper stood like an iron tower, his massive form clad in black armor, protecting Lisa's safety. The red priestess Gwendolyn, her fiery red hair billowing like a burning banner, held a golden incense burner emitting a faint warmth; amidst the swirling smoke, her gaze was devout yet sharp. The Shadowbinder Evelyn almost blended into the shadows of dawn; her presence was faint, yet it made the surrounding air seem thick and cold.

Euron's gaze swept over the small group, finally settling on Lisa's face. He said slowly, "Quarth is not a safe place. Within those triple walls, every brick is steeped in millennia of intrigue and conspiracy, the air is thick with colorless and odorless poison, and the daggers in the shadows are more unpredictable than swords on the battlefield. The dangers you may encounter are no less than those of a real war."

Lisa met his gaze, her face showing no fear, but rather a calm and confident smile. "Don't worry about me," she said calmly. "In ten years, the web we've laid is deeper than you can imagine."

Qarth also has our information network and manpower; they are already waiting.

Euron shook his head slightly and blinked: "Verbal reminders aren't enough. I'll give you some—more practical protective measures."

Before the words were even finished, the shadows behind them seemed to come alive, and a chilling rubbing sound rang out.

In the darkness, a giant python slowly emerged. Its body was as thick as an ancient tree, covered with red and white patches that swirled like clouds, while its belly was a striking bright yellow. At the top of its enormous head was a pale, skull-shaped bone ornament, adding to its air of deathly mystery and majesty.

Euron explained, "It's called Salome. Don't worry, it's non-toxic and an excellent swimmer." He paused, then emphasized, "It possesses a special way of sensing, allowing it to overcome obstacles and accurately locate its target. Its serpentine body can coil up to form a stable and comfortable platform, serving as your mobile throne for resting or even commanding troops in the future."

Euron patted Salome's cold, tough scales and continued, "In terms of pure attack power, it can't compare to deep-sea overlords like sea kings, but it's obedient and gentle, making it perfect for close protection."

The giant serpent Salome slowly lowered its head, which was adorned with a skull crown, and gracefully circled Lisa a few times, its cold, smooth scales brushing lightly against the hem of her skirt.

Finally, its massive serpentine body gently yet firmly encircled Lisa, forming a protective living barrier. It lowered its head again, gently nudging Lisa's head with the top of its hard skull, a gesture both affectionate and docile, clearly accepting her as its master.

The calm sea surface suddenly burst open with a splash, and two "snakes" emerged from the water amidst the surging waves.

As giant venomous sea snakes belonging to the Sea King genus, they can reach lengths of up to 100 meters. Their heads resemble majestic dragons, adorned with ferocious skull-like horns. Their upright, crimson eyes glow like burning embers, and their bright red tongues constantly flicker, radiating a primal sense of intimidation. Their bodies are a cold, iron-blue color, covered with dark gold ring-shaped markings resembling metal shackles. The edges of each scale are as sharp as finely crafted armor, gleaming with an indestructible metallic sheen in the sunlight.

Most remarkably, they have flowing crimson manes on their necks that extend from the top of their heads all the way to the water's surface, making them look like flames dancing in the water when they swim.

On the backs of these two sea-king creatures, a sleek and uniquely shaped ship, the "Perfume Serpent," is steadily carried.

On the ship's mast, a unique pirate flag with a pattern of nine snakes entwined was fluttering in the sea breeze.

This unique vehicle slowly approached the shore, silently awaiting its owner.

"This ship is for you." Euron pointed to the flagship that blended seamlessly with the serpent and said to Lisa, "Once ashore, these two [Serpents] will protect you. They are as reliable as Salome." He paused, then added the most crucial function of this mode of transport: "When you need to go to sea again, they can tow the [Perfume Serpent] through the waves."

Euron leaned down and placed a brief but firm kiss on Lisa's smooth forehead before helping her onto the deck of the Perfume Serpent.

As the high priestess Gwendolyn, carrying an incense burner, passed by Euron, he suddenly reached out and pulled her fiery red hair, kissing her lips—as red and sweet as a blood-stained rose—with an irresistible, domineering force. Gwendolyn rolled her eyes at him, but didn't scold Euron. Instead, she gently stroked his face with her tender fingers and returned his kiss before boarding the ship.

The Shadowbinder Evelyn's face was always covered by that smooth, lacquered wooden mask, and Euron had never seen what she looked like underneath in all these years. Now, with their parting imminent, Euron stepped forward, gently pulled up her lacquered mask, revealing her cherry-red lips, and solemnly and tenderly kissed her; unexpectedly, they were sweet and delicious.

This unexpected move caused Evelyn, who was usually as calm as still water, to freeze instantly, a clear look of astonishment emanating from her mask. She instinctively took a half-step back, a complex and unfathomable resentment flashing in her only exposed eyes as she gave Euron a deep look.

As if he had just pulled off a triumphant prank, Euron laughed loudly, turned, and strode back to the shore. He stood in the rising sea breeze, waving vigorously at the Perfume Serpent that had begun to move.

"Lisa, Gwendolyn, Evelyn! It won't be long before I come to Qarth to see you!" Euron's voice pierced through the growing distance, reaching clearly the ears of everyone about to embark on their journey.

Guided by two serpents, the Perfume Serpent slowly departed from the coast of Vajar. The ship and the serpents gradually merged into the darkness in the distance, eventually disappearing completely into the thickest night and sea fog before dawn.
