Chapter 12 Gambler's Paradise, Victor the Saber-Toothed Tiger!

Las Vegas, Nevada, is undoubtedly a gambler's paradise.

Since casinos were legalized here in the last century, countless people have flocked to Nevada, and countless casinos have sprung up.

Gamblers indulge in extravagance at the gambling table, either winning big or losing everything; laughter and despair play out here every day.

And this is Logan's destination, a place that fills countless people with imagination.

On the highway, Samuel gazed at the road leading to Las Vegas, his expression growing increasingly excited. "Damn Las Vegas, I'm back!"

"Have you been here before?"

Logan turned his head in surprise and asked, "Samuel doesn't seem like a gambler at all."

"Of course!" Samuel exclaimed excitedly. "I'm a super lucky star in Las Vegas! Last time I won a whopping thirty thousand dollars here!"

After saying that, he glanced at the rearview mirror with a sullen expression. "Don't tell Josh this. He's the unluckiest of the three of us. He lost a full 20,000 last time and almost had to sell his car."

Logan nodded. He wasn't interested in these things. He knew that while the gambling table was exciting, the casino always benefited the most, and Lady Luck wouldn't always favor one person.

"Hey James, wanna grab some time later? I know a casino with amazing service, guaranteed to keep you entertained all night!"

Samuel extended a warm invitation and explained, "Don't worry, it won't affect the work. Unloading will take a whole night, and no one will disturb us during that time."

Logan, participating in a cargo delivery mission for the first time, was unclear about some details and asked, "Don't we need to keep watch? I've heard Las Vegas isn't exactly a safe place."

Casinos are rampant here, and people lose everything every day, even incurring huge debts. These desperate gamblers often resort to robbery, taking the stolen money into the casino and losing it all again.

"Don't worry, there are people specifically in charge of this."

Samuel was clearly not worried about security. "The Lawrence family has invested in several casinos in Las Vegas. No one would be foolish enough to target the Lawrence family's goods here. Besides, our mission is just transportation. If anything happens after we arrive, it's not our responsibility."

Logan then realized what was happening.

Samuel continued his enthusiastic invitation, "How about it, want to come along? If you buy with me, I guarantee you'll have a huge haul tonight!"

Clearly, Samuel was already incredibly excited even before reaching his destination.

Logan smiled and shook his head. "You guys go ahead. I don't like noisy environments, and this is my first time in Las Vegas. I've heard it's a great place for tourism, so I'd like to explore by myself."

This was the first time he had left San Antonio in many years. He wanted to find a tavern to have a drink first, and then wander around to see how the world had changed in the past decade or so.

"Oh well."

Samuel wasn't disappointed by Logan's refusal. "If I come again next time, I'll definitely give it a try. Newcomers to casinos often have incredible luck."

"Yes."

Logan gave a perfunctory smile and turned to look out the window.

The highway to Las Vegas was clearly much busier than other sections, with all sorts of vehicles racing towards that dreamlike city.

By the time Logan and his team arrived at the warehouse, the final destination of their mission, it was already evening.

This is a stately warehouse in northern Las Vegas, bearing the prominent Lawrence family logo. It appears to contain many valuables and is heavily guarded.

After handing the truck over to warehouse staff, the four headed to a nearby motel.

The Lawrence family arranged accommodation for them there.

However, Samuel and his two companions obviously wouldn't stay overnight at the hotel. After taking a quick shower, they excitedly headed to the casino, as if their exhaustion from the night's journey couldn't deter them from their decadent adventures.

Logan also went out with them, but chose a different route.

He found a decent-looking pub nearby, ordered a few drinks and a steak, and after a satisfying meal, wandered aimlessly through this world-famous city.

Compared to Santa Fe, Las Vegas at night feels like another world.

There are so many casinos here that you can hardly count them all; there's one operating every few hundred meters.

The LED lights hanging outside the casino flickered with an attractive glow, while the soft streetlights shone with a golden light, illuminating the entire city in a golden hue.

The clean streets were full of pedestrians, some of whom were tourists who looked around the city and took excited photos in front of some beautiful sights.

Some were gamblers who were very familiar with the area, and they ran quickly toward their favorite casino.

Police officers patrolling from time to time ensured safety on the streets.

Compared to Santa Fe, a city teeming with drug addicts and alcoholics, this dream city is clearly much safer.

Logan strolled through the golden city, enjoying the rare tranquility.

You should know that in the night in Santa Fe, people going out usually carry at least a small knife in their pockets to guard against those drug addicts having a fit of madness.

However, everyone who walked past him looked glamorous and sophisticated.

"Logan?"

Suddenly, a deep voice came from behind.

Logan thought he had been recognized, and his heart skipped a beat. He quickly turned around to look.

For many years, apart from Professor X and Caliban, almost no one had ever called him that, because only acquaintances knew him.

Behind him stood a man with a full beard, wearing a black jacket, looking at him from the crowd.

The iconic beard, the sharp, tiger-like eyes that revealed a sense of vicissitude—the familiarity instantly reminded Logan of the other person.

"Jimmy!"

Victor, beaming with excitement, strode forward and embraced Logan, patting him excitedly on the back with his broad hand: "It really is you!"

After a brief embrace, the two separated. Victor looked at Logan's face, his voice a little hoarse, "My God, you've aged. I almost didn't recognize you."

"You look much younger."

Logan smiled wryly; the other party also possessed a self-healing factor.
