Chapter 24 The Death of Conrad!

Those few days were absolutely agonizing for Samuel. He couldn't even go to the bar right downstairs, and he had to endure women knocking on his door every night while he and his entourage of men were together.

These difficult days finally took a turn for the better three days later.

Chris finally sent in intelligence: the Juarez family's goods were located in a remote logistics warehouse in the suburbs of New York. The Juarez family probably never imagined that their hiding place would be found even in such a remote location.

Because the logistics warehouse was located quite far away, requiring at least several hours of driving, Logan had Josh and the others prepare their weapons and equipment and set off before sunset.

Samuel and Josh first went to find a reliable truck. As soon as they got the goods, they had to leave the city immediately to avoid any unforeseen complications.

Before the mission, Logan gave Conrad a private warning: "This mission is very important, so don't do anything reckless!"

Conrad smiled, reached out and patted Logan on the shoulder. "Take care of yourself first, Mr. Howlett."

Logan watched Conrad's retreating figure, his gaze darkening.

……

Several hours later, it was nearly dawn. The bright moon hung high in the sky, and the jungle was silent except for the occasional low calls of some unknown nocturnal animals.

Samuel was responsible for providing backup near the warehouse, while Logan, along with Josh Conrad, hid in the woods, watching the warehouses not far away.

All the warehouses were dark, and apart from a few security guards who occasionally patrolled the area, there was no sign of anyone else.

"The goods are in warehouse number five," Logan said, pointing to the fifth warehouse in the queue.

"How do we get in?"

Josh stared at Warehouse No. 5 with a furrowed brow.

These warehouses have no windows and use iron doors. Even if they could pick the locks, the noise when they opened the doors would immediately attract the security guards.

"Ventilation ducts".

Logan glanced at the ventilation opening at the top of the warehouse and responded softly.

In addition to sending him the target address, Chris even sent him the warehouse blueprints. The map showed that, besides the main door at the front and the small door at the back, the ventilation duct at the top was also a good option for entering the warehouse.

To ensure proper ventilation in the enclosed warehouse, these ventilation ducts are designed to be large enough for an adult to walk through while bending over.

Logan took advantage of a gap when a team of security guards passed by and quickly ran to the outside of Warehouse No. 5.

They just calculated the time it would take for the security guards to pass by, and they won't be passing by here again for at least half an hour.

Arriving outside Warehouse No. 5, Logan took out a grappling hook and threw it forcefully towards the top of the warehouse. With a strong pull, the hook firmly hooked onto the stone bricks of the warehouse roof.

Using grappling hooks, the group easily climbed to the roof of the warehouse and entered the warehouse through the ventilation ducts.

The warehouse was completely dark, so Logan carefully searched it using the light of his flashlight.

"Here!"

After searching for a while, Logan finally found the two boxes of cargo labeled BU-26 and BU-27.

The metal crate was larger than a typical briefcase, sealed with three locks, and the seals were marked with numbers.

Josh and Conrad, who were searching elsewhere, rushed over when they heard Logan's voice. After confirming that this was their target, the two couldn't help but smile.

In their eyes, this wasn't just any kind of merchandise, but rather payment for their mission!

However, just as they were about to pick up the goods, a sharp bang suddenly rang out in the darkness.

Along with that, blinding lights came on from the top of the warehouse, instantly illuminating the dark warehouse.

The sudden bright light caused Logan and the others to raise their arms to shield their eyes from the light.

clap clap clap! !

A loud round of applause suddenly rang out. The three of them looked in the direction of the applause and saw more than a dozen figures walking out of the open corridor on the second floor of the warehouse, each holding a submachine gun.

The leader was a middle-aged man with a beard, around fifty years old. He stood in the corridor, clapping continuously and laughing, "Lawrence really went to great lengths; you actually managed to find this place."

"Damn it!"

Josh cursed under his breath; being surrounded in the warehouse was no good.

"People from Juarez?"

Logan frowned, his gaze fixed on the bearded man.

The bearded man scanned them as if they were prey, and said regretfully, "You made a terrible mistake by choosing to serve Lawrence."

He waved his hand dismissively, his face instantly turning fierce. "Kill them!"

As soon as the sound faded, more than a dozen gunmen pulled their triggers almost simultaneously.

bang bang bang! ! !

The piercing sound of gunfire echoed violently within the warehouse, and bullets rained down from the muzzles of submachine guns.

Logan's pupils contracted sharply, and he grabbed Conrad and Josh and hid behind the large cargo container.

The bullets struck the cargo container with a series of crackling sounds.

Logan frowned as he sensed the enemy's heavy firepower. After thinking for a moment, he turned to Josh and said, "You take a box of goods and run. We'll cover you."

The gunfire here must have alerted the guards outside. If they don't leave soon, they'll be trapped once the guards surround the warehouse!

Josh understood the current situation and nodded emphatically.

Logan gripped the pistol with both hands and whispered, "Three, two, one."

After saying that, he suddenly stood up, raised his pistol, and pulled the trigger.

Bang bang bang!

As the bullets were fired, several gunmen's heads were instantly pierced by them.

The bearded man was startled by the superb marksmanship and quickly turned to hide behind a pillar.

The other gunmen panicked and quickly hid behind cover.

"Now! Use the cargo boxes as cover and run!" Logan shouted.

Josh quickly lifted one of the target goods, used the container as a shield, and ran towards the gate with all his might.

In the corridor, the gunman hiding behind cover quickly poked his gun out and fired at Josh.

Fortunately, the cargo box provided cover, blocking a large number of bullets. In addition, Logan's suppression made it difficult for many gunmen to show their faces. Only three gunmen with better angles were able to shoot at him, so he did not suffer any damage.

"Damn it, stop him!"

The bearded man hid behind a pillar, watching Josh's figure and roaring loudly.

Upon hearing this, the other gunmen peeked out almost simultaneously, some of them firing in Logan's direction, forcing him to retreat back behind the cargo box.

The other group of gunmen, however, pointed their guns at Josh.

Just as they were about to shoot Josh, Conrad, who had already climbed to the other side, suddenly sat up and shouted, "Hey, over here!"

As he spoke, several bullets accurately hit the gunman.

As a mercenary, his marksmanship was naturally excellent.

Logan also seized the opportunity to retaliate, killing all the gunmen who had shot at Josh.

The bearded man watched his men fall one after another, his face turning pale. Before the firepower was concentrated on him, he turned and ran away.

Under strong cover, Josh successfully opened the warehouse door and rushed out with the cargo box in his arms.

"Fuck, they're all finally dead."

Conrad looked at the large number of corpses lying on the ground and breathed a deep sigh of relief.

"I can hear footsteps; security is on their way!"

Logan could clearly hear a series of hurried footsteps approaching.

"You can't use the front gate anymore, use the back gate!"

He remembered that there was a small door at the back of the warehouse that led out.

"Hmm." Conrad didn't think much of it and ran towards the back door with the cargo box.

But when they got to the back door, the two were instantly dumbfounded.

The back door is different from the front door. The front door has a mechanical lock, similar to the main door of a room. It requires a key to open from the outside, but from the inside, you can simply turn the handle to open it. Therefore, Josh was able to easily open the door and go out.

However, the back door had an old-fashioned lock, and it was completely locked from the outside, making it impossible to open from the inside!

"Damn it, what do we do now!"

Conrad was completely thrown into a panic. The footsteps behind him grew increasingly rapid. Security personnel and gunmen had entered the warehouse and would soon surround it.

Logan glanced behind him, then suddenly raised his foot and kicked hard at the back door.

boom!

The immense force instantly bent the iron gate, and the lock on the outside couldn't withstand the violent impact and snapped instantly.

Conrad stared at the open door, his eyes filled with shock as he looked at the old man before him.

But he knew this wasn't the time to be surprised, so he quickly picked up the goods and rushed out the door.

However, the next second, he stopped abruptly, staring blankly at Logan beside him, or more precisely, at the pistol in Logan's hand.

The dark muzzle of the gun was pointed directly at his heart.

"you!"

Conrad panicked and was about to speak, but Logan pulled the trigger without hesitation.

boom!

A piercing gunshot rang out, and the impact of the bullet instantly sent him flying to the ground. He stared wide-eyed at Logan's cold expression, utterly incredulous.

"Kid, you've messed with the wrong person!"

Logan picked up the box that had fallen to the ground.

"mean……"

Conrad lay on the ground, blood seeping out, his face contorted with rage.

He raised the gun in his hand, trying to fight back with his last bit of strength.

Bang bang bang! !

What awaited him were several merciless bullets, and blood flowed everywhere.

Conrad, filled with resentment, died completely.

Logan looked at Conrad, who was dead beyond any doubt, glanced back at the gunman who was about to catch up, and finally shot Conrad in the head. Then he picked up the cargo box and ran towards the rendezvous point.

At that moment, a few lines of text appeared before my eyes.

You made the right choice, eliminating a potential threat!
