Chapter 104 Forgery

Time passed slowly, and suddenly, Qin Jin caught a whiff of something.

A misty gas mixed with the thick stench, making the air feel instantly damp and cold, like being in a basin city, and your skin began to feel sticky.

Alessa slipped out of the safety door silently and hid in the darkness. Yuanxiao also stopped whimpering and shrank her little head back into the stuffed animal pocket.

Water droplets began to condense on the exposed metal pipes in the ceiling, silently spreading towards the foul-smelling bait in the center, drawing ever closer...

Constantine also noticed the unusually low temperature and water vapor fluctuations. He suddenly leaned out from behind the pillar, his eyes scanning the seemingly empty, foul-smelling central area intently.

It's now!

Without the slightest hesitation, Kang stepped forward abruptly, raising a dark sheepskin with intricate alchemical symbols high in his left hand—

An ancient symbol, the Seal of the Red King, is clearly engraved on it!

As he aimed the Red King's Seal at the foul-smelling bait in the center, he loudly chanted an ancient decree:

"I will make you appear in the light!"

The moment the incantation was uttered, the Crimson King's Seal suddenly erupted with a dazzling, blazing white light!

The light, like a real searchlight beam, precisely enveloped the filth in the center of the parking lot!

"Sizzle—!"

A sound similar to a soldering iron being dipped in water filled the air.

Under the white light, a transparent outline suddenly appeared, like an ice cube hidden in water gradually changing color and revealing its essence, and its shape quickly changed from a phantom to a solid one!

Just over a second later, the light disappeared, and the creature in the parking lot was completely exposed to everyone.

It resembles a dwarf demon with elongated limbs, its skin a sickly gray-green, covered with sticky pustules, its thin arms and legs like withered branches, extremely disproportionate, and its fingertips and toes with sharp black hooks.

On its bald head, there was no nose, only two constantly pulsating black holes, and a pair of pure black eyes that took up half of its face and had no pupils!

Its body surface constantly seeps out cold water droplets, which is the source of that cold and dampness—the Hidden Weaver!

"Hiss—!"

The manifested Hidden Weaver let out a piercing scream, filled with the fury of being fooled. Its pure black eyes swept over Constantine, who held the Red King's Seal, but the next second, it turned and fled!

With a sudden burst of power from its slender limbs, the Shadowweaver kicked up a cloud of foul stench and shot off like an arrow toward the underground pipe network entrance it had come from.

However, a figure had already firmly blocked the way!

It was Qin and Jin.

When the white light appeared, he had already moved over, holding the Basmo Armor M machete with its sheath in his hand, tapping the cement wall next to him intermittently, occasionally missing a beat.

The Shadowweaver immediately sensed something ominous. It forcibly changed direction, veering towards the slope the car had entered...

At the ramp, Catherine held a Glock pistol, poised to fire, while Ellie beside her had a dangerous glint in her cat-like eyes. The combined aura of the two women formed an invisible barrier.

"Bang--!"

Before the Hidden Weaver could change direction again, a loud gunshot rang out, and the rune bullet accurately hit the ground in front of it, exploding into a ball of blue sparks, forcibly stopping its momentum.

The source of the gunfire was guarding the safety passage. It was completely surrounded!

"Hey! Time to call it a day!" Constantin grinned, sporting a thug-like air, and charged forward, a cigarette dangling from his lips and wrists flexing.

The Red King's Seal was put away, and a bright yellow cross-shaped knuckle duster appeared on his hand.

The Hidden Weaver panicked completely. It futilely waved its long, slender claws and let out meaningless hisses, trying to find a way out.

Constantine, however, would not give it another chance!

He suddenly lunged forward, his movements as fast as lightning, and slammed a heavy punch into the Shadowweaver.

With a single punch, it was sent flying. The divine power, along with the brass knuckles, was injected into the Shadowweaver's body, causing it immense suffering...

The battle lasted less than five minutes.

The sounds of fists landing were mixed with the Shadowweaver's screams. Soon, the Shadowweaver was beaten to the ground by Constantine, convulsing and with several bones broken.

Constantine swiftly pulled a mirror from his pocket. It had a silver frame, intricate patterns, and a huge cross in the center with an exorcism prayer engraved beneath it. He pressed the mirror directly onto the forehead of the Hidden Weaver.

"In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, rest, you filthy thing!" Constantine murmured.

The mirror flickered, and the Shadowweaver let out a short roar before vanishing from everyone's sight. By the time Constantine picked up the mirror, it had already appeared within its surface.

Constantine put the silver mirror into the linen bag and weighed it in his hand with satisfaction.

"OK! It's easier than I expected." Constantine whistled and stuffed the linen bag into his trench coat.

Qin Jin then slowly walked over from the entrance of the passage, glanced at the Shadowweaver that Constantine had put away, and then glanced at the pile of filth on the ground that still smelled foul, without even raising an eyebrow.

He beckoned Alessa over, took her Gru Super Red Eagle, and handed it, along with his own Basmo Armor M-Sword, to Catherine beside him.

"Casey, you go with Jack to the Alchemy Association to report for duty, to see what it's like, and while you're at it—" His tone was flat:

"Have them enchant these two weapons, the attributes... just the holy attribute for dealing with dark creatures and demons, nothing else is needed."

Catherine took the heavy machete and revolver, somewhat surprised:

"Qin, aren't you going?"

Qin Jin's lips curled into an enigmatic smile, and he gently waved his hand:

"Well, it's better if you go. If the enchanter is some pretentious old man who thinks he's so elegant, just swallow your pride and beg him to enchant your Glock too. Remember this... a true nobleman will never refuse a lady's request! If he disagrees, just use this line to argue with him!"

Looking at Qin Jin's inscrutable expression, and then at Jack beside her who also seemed somewhat confused, Catherine wisely nodded: "I'll remember."

As the group parted ways, Catherine, following Constanze into the carriage, finally couldn't help but complain:

"Jack, you actually asked Qin to help you with something so simple? It's disgusting, your clothes even stink."

Constantine, sitting in the passenger seat, let out an exaggerated sigh:

"My dear Casey, things aren't that simple. If Qin hadn't known about this thing's quirks and could pinpoint its location precisely, we could have searched the Chicago sewer system blindly for a year and still not caught it! That's the power of knowledge, understand?"

Catherine nodded thoughtfully, indicating that she roughly understood.

The car drove out of the abandoned building and merged into the afternoon traffic in Chicago, but instead of heading directly towards the Alchemist Guild, it made several turns and arrived at an apartment building.

"Casey, wait a moment before you go. I need Ellie to get me something!"

Under Catherine's questioning gaze, Ellie took out a set of rather old, yellowed blank parchment scrolls from the cabinet, along with various alchemical inks, and a complete set of tools: a carving knife, a quill pen, an incense burner, and rune stamps...

The atmosphere inside the apartment instantly became somewhat subtle and secretive.

Ellie skillfully picked up her tools and, referring to the dazzlingly intricate alchemical symbols on the genuine Seal of the Red King, began to meticulously trace and copy them on the blank parchment, while Constantine started preparing the ink...

Catherine understood the whole process; it looked like she was copying, but she didn't know that she was actually forging it!

Constantin's plan is to return the counterfeit goods and have the real ones tattooed directly on his arms!

Outside the window, the hustle and bustle of Chicago continues unabated.

Inside, the texture of the parchment was gradually filled with ancient symbols under Ellie's fingertips, and the outline of the forgery slowly took shape in the dim light.
