Chapter 56 Kidnapping Plan

Qin Jin took Johnny into the basement of the Blood Moon Bar and casually threw him on the ground like a pile of mud.

Selena emerged from the darkness, looked at the human in front of her, and, after confirming that he was of no use, ignored him and remained silent, waiting for Qin Jin's next move.

"B-Boss! Spare me! What do you want? I... I haven't offended you... Just tell me what you need me to do, I'll do it..."

Johnny, his voice trembling with tears, blurted out everything that was on his mind.

"Tell me," Qin Jin said, sitting on the wooden chair beside him, watching him with a leisurely air.

"What do you know about the Tong family murder case?"

"Uh—" Johnny let out a loud burp, then looked up abruptly, seemingly incredulous, before quickly continuing:

"Boss...you want this? Well, you should have said so earlier..."

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"That's what I do! You should have said so earlier... Oh, right, I brought this on myself, I'm such an idiot..."

Johnny slapped himself twice across the face and immediately sped up his speech:

"I have complete information about the case for sale. If I hadn't made that stupid mistake, none of this would have happened—"

"Criminal scene report plus police photos, $50!"

"Current police investigation progress and objectives: 30 dollars!"

"Details of the Ghost's modus operandi: 30 stab wounds!"

"And...and..."

"Boss, I have whatever you need. Please, take it as a token of my respect and apology..."

Johnny the Gecko pulled a stack of miniature documents from his coat pocket, carefully selecting the parts he needed and respectfully handing them over. Qin Jin casually accepted them, while Alessa and Selena stared at him expressionlessly.

Qin Jin briefly reviewed the details of the case:

Tong Zhenshan, who was killed, was 63 years old. Two days ago, in the afternoon, he went to a laundromat on an urgent matter. He parked his car in front of the laundromat and went inside for about ten minutes.

Just as he stepped outside, a gunshot rang out from the rooftop of the Rainbow Building across the street, and Tong Zhenshan was shot in the head!

Ghost used a large-caliber sniper rifle; he was a dark web assassin who left no trace at the scene, and the subsequent police search yielded nothing.

That same day, the surveillance cameras in the Rainbow Building were also removed. According to the police investigation, Ghost likely came to the surveillance room immediately after the murder, killed the security guard, went directly down the elevator shaft to the basement, and then left in some way...

The Tong family is currently investigating two things: who hired the ghost, and why Tong Zhenshan went to the laundromat that day, and how the news was leaked!

Insider information suggests that Tong Zhenshan's affair with another woman was at the laundromat, where she ran into his wife. Both parties later claimed to have received a phone call, but the content of the call is only known to Tong's family.

As for the police, they are searching for information about the ghost. They have visited weapons dealers in San Francisco, well-informed people in the underworld, and certain killers hiding in San Francisco, but they have also found nothing.

Just like his name suggests, Ghost comes quietly, kills quietly, and leaves quietly, without leaving a trace!

Besides offering an exorbitant reward, the Tong family is also looking for capable private investigators and bounty hunters, but so far, no one has come forward...

After reviewing the materials, Qin Jin began to compile, categorize, and organize them.

The internal strife within the Tong family came at just the right time. They were busy searching for the murderer and distrusting each other. The waters were deeper than they had imagined, and opportunities were readily available. They could easily find an identity and cause trouble!

He pondered for a moment, finally deciding on his approach, and slightly raised his eyelids:

"Great! This information is excellent. I guarantee you'll be satisfied with the payment I'm giving you. Now, you need to do something for me."

Johnny immediately nodded and bowed, "Please, just say the word! Give me your orders!"

"Detailed information about the ghost, photos, appearance, everything!" Qin Jin stared intently at Gecko Johnny, his eyes unblinking.

"Your connections in the police station can help you!"

Johnny's fawning expression froze instantly, replaced by a look of unease and fear. He couldn't fathom how this man had discovered he had connections to a San Francisco detective, but—

He dared not! Although the other party always brought him information to sell for money, promising a 50/50 split, they also made it very clear that if he exposed their existence, Johnny would only face death!

So Johnny wouldn't dare take this job!

"B-Boss! This...this is too difficult! Ghost is a ghost on the dark web! Forget about photos, hardly anyone can even say whether he's male or female, old or young! Where am I, a small-time hoodlum, supposed to get one? Even if you...even if you kill me, I can't do it..."

"Can't do it? Hmm, I understand. That guy at the police station isn't low-ranking, and he's issued a gag order!" Qin Jin nodded, stood up, and whispered a few words in Selena's ear.

Selena immediately waved, and two vampires dressed as bartenders emerged from the darkness beside her. Selena told them Qin Jin's request, and the two immediately stepped forward and lifted Johnny off the ground!

"No! No! Boss! I was wrong! I was really wrong! I tried my best! I tried my best..."

Johnny kept wailing, but the vampire ignored him, dragged him deeper underground, and then pushed open the door to the underground icehouse.

The door to the icehouse was pushed open, and a chilling blast of cold air, carrying a strong smell of blood, rushed out!

The scene before him made Johnny stop breathing instantly, his pupils dilating to their maximum!

Dozens of body bags hung in the freezer, and several vampires in aprons were draining the blood from fresh corpses, filling the bags, and hanging them up...

In the corner, a vampire was possessing a corpse, sucking its blood. When it raised its head, it revealed a mouthful of scarlet, sharp fangs and greeted the vampire who had brought Johnny in.

"Hey! It's so hot! Would you like some cold drinks? Like the Chinese say, to cool down!"

"vomit……"

Johnny's stomach churned, and he vomited, the vomit freezing instantly on the cold ground.

A tremendous fear pierced him like an ice pick, and he finally understood what he had encountered: this was not a human, but a terrifying vampire!

"Vampires... vampires! You are vampire lords! Spare me! Great vampire lords, spare me! I... I will do whatever you say! I swear! I swear my loyalty!"

He cried and begged for mercy incoherently, frantically kowtowing to the air, his forehead slamming against the cold, hard ground with a loud thud.

The vampire who led him in grinned, revealing his menacing fangs, and bit down on Johnny's neck!

"ah--!!!"

Johnny let out a bloodcurdling scream like a pig being slaughtered. The intense pain and fear made his vision go black, and he completely lost consciousness.

Johnny groggily awoke to a chilling cold and a burning pain in his neck. He touched his neck in horror, his fingertips finding two deep, swollen, and hardened dentition holes! The wounds were still throbbing.

"Awake?" Qin Jin's voice rang in his ear like a devil's whisper. "Congratulations, you are now marked by the vampires."

Johnny shuddered and looked at Qin Jin with despair.

"If you've been bitten by a vampire and haven't received the 'Embrace,' your blood will slowly deteriorate, your body will begin to rot, you'll become a mindless monster, and finally you'll completely decay and die. At that time... tsk tsk tsk..."

Johnny was terrified, his teeth chattering. Looking at the man before him who was more demonic than a demon himself, the moment his mind returned to normal, he threw himself at Qin Jin's feet.

"I...I'll do it! I'll do anything!"

Johnny clung tightly to Qin Jin's leg, his voice hoarse: "I'll get you what you want! I'll definitely get it!"

"That way, he won't die!" Qin Jin lifted his foot, signaling Johnny to let go:

"Go ahead, I'll be here until nine o'clock tonight!"

Johnny felt like he had been granted a pardon and scrambled out of the basement as if countless vengeful ghosts were chasing him.

Watching Johnny's disheveled figure disappear, Selena crossed her arms and looked thoughtfully at Qin Jin. Thinking about what Qin Jin wanted and his actions of having his tribesmen pretend to bite Johnny, she said softly:

"A brilliant plan! You're smarter than you seem!"

Qin Jin raised an eyebrow:

"Oh? What did you figure out?"

Selena's voice was calm:

"Use Johnny to find information on 'Ghost,' and then catch that assassin called 'Ghost' before the Tong family does. After that, take this hot potato back to your Los Angeles hideout and deliberately spread rumors... The Tong family will chase you to Los Angeles like sharks smelling blood."

She paused, a complex expression of approval for Qin Jin flashing in her eyes:

"Then, on your own turf, kidnapping a few members of the Tong family will be a piece of cake, saving you the trouble of bringing them back... I must say, this is a brilliant idea!"

After listening, Qin Jin revealed his signature lazy, slightly roguish smile, neither confirming nor denying, simply shrugging vaguely.

"If you say so, then so be it. Think what you want."

Selena didn't understand those words or that expression at all; only Alessa beside her did.

She guessed wrong!
