Chapter 27 An Encounter with Nami

On the streets of Lotus Leaf Town.

Nami was desperately trying to escape.

Dozens of meters behind her, a group of burly men in suits, looking menacing, were chasing after her, shouting sternly:

"Stop right there! You dare steal Boss Kado's money! You must have a death wish!"

"If you don't return the money, you'll be torn to pieces!"

"Stop! Stop right there!"

Nami nimbly leaped over a fruit stand blocking her way, then turned around and made a face.

"Who's going to give you your money back, you vicious dogs who follow Kado in committing all sorts of evil deeds!"

The burly men in suits, their faces flushed with anger, pointed at her and snarled, "You just wait! Don't let us catch you!"

Nami ignored them and kept running forward.

As she ran, she observed the surrounding buildings and quickly recalled the escape route she had planned.

"That's the alley! Once I get inside, I can use the terrain to shake them off!"

Her eyes lit up when she saw an alley, and she quickly ran towards the alley entrance.

A smile curled at the corner of his mouth; he was overjoyed at his impending escape from the pursuit of these vicious dogs and the successful acquisition of a considerable sum of money.

Meanwhile, shortly after entering Lotus Leaf Town, Goku accidentally wandered into an alley. After wandering around in the alley for a long time, he finally saw the street and walked towards the alley entrance with great joy, preparing to find someone on the street to ask Master Roshi and Krillin about their whereabouts.

And coincidentally, the alley he was about to leave was the very alley Nami was about to enter!

The two of them ran along the right side of the street to the alley entrance, about to turn right and go in;

On the street, the burly men in suits chasing Nami roared angrily.

Nami's smile froze not because of the pursuers' voices, but because Goku, after hearing them, curiously took a few steps back and looked towards the alley entrance where the sounds came from.

When he saw the burly men in suits running towards him, he glanced down at the bag full of money in his arms, then looked at Nami, whose expression was stiff and who was gesturing for him to quickly take the bag away.

Suddenly overcome by a surge of intelligence, he pointed at Nami and exclaimed, "That woman they're talking about isn't you, is she?! You stole their money?!"

Nami smiled broadly, then waved her hands frantically, looking guilty: "How could that be? That's my own money."

As she spoke, she moved closer to Wukong, and with lightning speed, she reached out to snatch the cloth bag from his arms.

Upon seeing her actions, Goku instantly concluded that Nami was the woman they were talking about who stole money. He swiftly moved aside and said seriously, "Stealing is wrong. How could you steal someone's money?"

When Nami realized her lie had been exposed, she stopped pretending and pounced on Goku, yelling, "I stole money from someone like that, so what! Give me back my money!"

However, despite her agile movements, how could she possibly catch Wukong?

Wukong suddenly appeared on the street and made a face at her:

"Oh no!! I'm not giving it back to you; I'm returning it to the people whose property was stolen from."

Nami gritted her teeth in anger, chased after Goku out into the street, and pounced on him again, but missed once more.

Seeing Wukong grinning at her from a distance, she was furious.

What's wrong with this kid! Not only is he stiff, but he's also as slippery as an eel!

Seeing that the pursuers were already close by, they knew they would be caught up if they didn't run.

Before long, four burly men in suits carrying genuine leather sofas steadily walked between the two rows of people.

On the sofa, a wealthy-looking man with slicked-back hair, a cigar dangling from his lips, and dressed in lavish attire asked in a cold voice, "Where is that woman?"

"My brothers are useless; she got away!"

The two burly men in suits on either side lowered their heads in unison.

Then the leader looked up and said, "But boss, your money has been found, it's right there!"

He pointed to the bag in Wukong's hand.

Kado looked at Goku, narrowing his eyes: "It was taken back by a little kid?"

The burly men in suits lowered their heads even further.

"I'm sorry, boss!"

Kado ignored his subordinates' apologies, told the burly man carrying the sofa to put it down, then walked up to Goku and patted the bewildered Goku, who looked confused and dazed.

"Little one, thank you for getting my money back."

Wukong looked up at him: "Is this money yours, uncle?"

"Yes, I earned them all through hard work."

"Then take it carefully, sir, so it doesn't get stolen again."

Cardo gestured for his men to take it, then pulled out a bundle of bundled pelies from his pocket and slowly drew out one bill.

One of his men immediately reached into his pocket and pulled out a coin.

"Boss, I happen to have one."

So Kado put Beli back in his pocket, took the coin, and handed it to Goku: "You did a great job, little guy. Take this and buy something to eat."

Wukong took it, looking bewildered, and nodded: "Thank you, uncle, you're such a good person."

Upon hearing this, Kado gave a cryptic smile, then sat back down on the sofa and said coldly, "Let's go back."
