My tamed beasts can't be demons.

Chapter 26 Huh? Can't I say this? (Please add to your favorites! Please continue reading!)

"If you need to team up later, feel free to come find me anytime," Xu Wuhu said with a smile as he walked out of the examination room to Zhou Lu and Li Yi.

They have already received their respective scores.

They earned 40 credits for their perfect performance in the first round of exams. Ten of those credits were bonus points for their perfect performance.

Of course, it's impossible to know how much of this rating is due to Liang Quan's lack of martial ethics.

The second and third rounds of exams were all standard solo tests.

You'll usually be dealing with first-tier spirit pets controlled by teachers or senior teaching assistants.

Although they are first-tier spirit pets, the lack of teammates and prior information disclosure, coupled with the gap in combat experience between the two sides, often makes them more difficult than the first round of the exam.

It's quite possible to encounter a pet with attributes that counter your own if you're unlucky.

Zhou Lu drew a lot from the teaching assistant and then walked to the corresponding venue.

Opening the door reveals a small arena.

He knew this place was usually where the academy's sports teams practiced.

However, Zhou Lu wasn't very interested in the school team—to be precise, he wasn't even interested in beast-taming competitions.

His most pressing matter is to help Hanabi grow quickly to fight against future enemies, so he has no time to waste on the competition.

Zhou Lu swiped his student card at the machine at the entrance, and his candidate information immediately popped up.

"Here it comes!"

A familiar voice came from backstage on the other side.

The next moment, Wu Xiaoqing, dressed in casual clothes, appeared in front of Zhou Lu.

"Huh? Sister Xiaoqing?" Zhou Lu was stunned when he saw Wu Xiaoqing. He subconsciously took a few steps back and glanced at the sign at the door.

After confirming several times that this was indeed his examination venue, he walked in again with a sigh: "Why are you here as an examiner?"

"Oh! I forgot, you have an exam." Wu Xiaoqing hurriedly straightened her obviously ill-fitting clothes. "I don't know what suddenly went wrong with the school. They said they need to reselect the examiners for the last two rounds of the preliminary exam for this battle, because they couldn't find anyone else, so they pulled me in as a conscript."

As she spoke, Wu Xiaoqing couldn't help but complain, "Damn it! They said I couldn't wear lab coats outside and insisted I wear regular clothes. It took me ages to find a suitable outfit in the closet."

"I used to be able to wear these..." Wu Xiaoqing muttered, glancing at her chest again, and murmured, "Have I really gained weight?"

"How long ago do you mean by 'before'?" Zhou Lu asked speechlessly.

"When I was in junior high school."

Zhou Lu's lips twitched slightly. So you haven't worn anything other than a lab coat since junior high?

"Alright! I'm the examiner now!" Wu Xiaoqing quickly composed herself and said to Zhou Lu, "I'm very fair! I won't go easy on you just because of our relationship!"

As she spoke, Wu Xiaoqing took out a Beast Taming Card.

As the card was released, a little rhinoceros appeared beside Wu Xiaoqing.

"Grit Rhinoceros, a Tier 1 Rock-type Spirit Beast. It possesses defensive capabilities far exceeding those of other Spirit Beasts of the same tier, with its belly being its weak point..."

Wu Xiaoqing began to introduce her spirit pet.

After talking for a while without seeing any reaction from Zhou Lu, she asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"

Zhou Lu hesitated for a long time before asking in a low voice, "Is this something I can say?"

"Huh? Can't I say that?" Wu Xiaoqing's eyes widened as she looked at the referee beside her.

The referee's lips twitched slightly: "There's no explicit prohibition, but it's usually not stated in such detail..."

Who would reveal their pet's weaknesses right from the start of a beast-taming duel?

It's so common sense that it wasn't even written into the rules!

"Hmph! No matter what, I will absolutely not show any mercy!" Wu Xiaoqing waved her hand and said confidently to Zhou Lu.

As he spoke, Li Xiaoxi took a step and rushed towards Zhou Lu.

Fireworks are all too familiar with this kind of bison-like impact.

Insert the vines into the soil, and with the blessing of [Wild Growth], the vines suddenly appeared under the feet of the Little Rhino, tightly wrapping around its hooves.

"It's no use! Vines of this strength..."

Before Wu Xiaoqing could finish speaking, Li Xiaoxi, who was traveling at high speed, was tripped by Hanabi's vines and fell heavily to the ground.

"Something's wrong with this grass!" Wu Xiaoqing exclaimed incredulously.

Although she wasn't very experienced in beast-taming duels, she still had the basic common sense.

The vines of a first-tier grass-type spirit beast are generally not very strong, so how could they possibly trip up Gravel Rhino's full-speed charge? Shouldn't these vines snap during the sprint?

Wu Xiaoqing's idea was indeed correct, but unfortunately she was facing fireworks.

This is a firework that was enhanced after sacrificing more than three hundred chipmunks!

With that fall, Little Rhino instantly became a lamb to the slaughter in Hanabi's eyes. Countless vines rose up and bound Little Rhino tightly.

Zhou Lu also has his own temper.

Since Wu Xiaoqing has revealed Li Xiaoxi's weakness, I'm going to deliberately not use that weakness to win!

Enveloped by layers of vines, even with its immense strength, Li Xiaoxi was unable to break free.

After confirming that the spirit pet had lost its fighting ability, the referee declared Zhou Lu the winner.

Wu Xiaoqing wasn't disappointed by her failure; instead, she looked at Huahuo with interest: "Your Mengyuhua is quite interesting. Perhaps I could borrow it to study sometime?"

"No." Zhou Lu refused decisively.

Thinking back on those mushrooms, Zhou Lu was very suspicious that his fireworks might have mutated in Wu Xiaoqing's hands.

Wu Xiaoqing originally intended to say something more, but the other candidates had already arrived, so she had no choice but to end the conversation.

When Zhou Lu walked out of the examination room, he heard Wu Xiaoqing still reporting information about her spirit pet.

This is because they are afraid the students won't pass the exam.

Zhou Lu even suspected that this was Wu Xiaoqing's scheme. If the school felt that what she had done was too much, they wouldn't assign her any other similar tasks in the future.

As he walked out of the examination room, the other candidates also came out one after another.

Is it that fast?

Zhou Lu spotted Li Yi in the crowd at a glance.

"I don't know why," Li Yi sighed, "the examiners in the second round seemed to be going easy on me. It seems especially easy to pass this year. 70 credits, a breeze! I can ask my dad for a reward when I get back."

"Oh, right," Zhou Lu suddenly remembered something and asked, "Have the samples I asked you to purchase arrived yet?"

"It's here," Li Yi said. "I'll bring it over to you another day. But what do you need this for? Is it for a dorm inspection?"

"It's for the purpose of obtaining the exploration certificate," Zhou Lu revealed simply.

He applied for the C-level Explorer's Certificate exam at the Explorers' Association before the exam.

Fireworks' attribute is grass, so the test needs to be conducted in a fire-type spirit beast arena.

Along with the exam schedule, a venue setting book as thick as a dictionary was also delivered.

The setting details the attributes, skills, and test venue parameters of the fire-type spirit beasts.

According to the strategy guide Zhou Lu found, this setting book is extremely important.

The testing grounds contain terrain that can restrict the opponent's spirit beasts, as well as terrain that is advantageous to one's own spirit beasts.

Beastmasters need to formulate appropriate tactics based on the setting and the characteristics of their own spirit beasts, and use terrain or other means to defeat opponents by reversing their attributes.

The exploration certificate exam tests not only the strength of the spirit beasts, but also the skill of the beast tamer.
