My tamed beasts can't be demons.

Chapter 67 The Fireworks Bloom

As Wu Xiaoqing said, the biggest obstacle standing in front of Hanabi's evolution is actually Hanabi's level.

But there was no other way. It had only been a little over two months since Zhou Lu started working on it. It was no easy task to raise Fireworks from level 10 to level 19 in just two months.

Most importantly, the spirit beast level is a man-made standard, merely a measure of a spirit beast's growth potential.

In reality, determining whether one's spirit pet has reached the standard for evolution depends more on the individual judgment of the beast tamer.

At the point where they evolve from the first to the second stage, many plant-type spirit beasts actually have the advantage.

Because flowering is often a sign that they are able to evolve.

Hanabi hasn't even grown a flower bud yet, so it's clear that she's still a long way from being able to evolve.

So for the next period of time, Zhou Lu took Hua Huo to explore various secret realm safe zones. While improving Hua Huo's attributes and skills, he also wanted to see what a spirit beast like Hua Huo could do to quickly increase its growth potential.

The tasks that a beast tamer needs to do are completely different depending on the type of spirit beast that wants to grow quickly to the point where it can evolve.

Some spirit pets need to fight constantly to grow quickly, while others need to be constantly beaten up.

Some spirit pets can grow quickly simply by eating, while others can grow simply by being cute and winning the hearts of others.

Even among the same type of spirit beast, this bias can vary drastically, sometimes even more so than between humans and dogs.

Beastmaster is never a profession with a fixed formula that can be copied.

Even if the evolution formula is the same, if you want your spirit pet to reach the evolution standard, you need to develop a unique training method based on the characteristics of your spirit pet.

Zhou Lu spent the next month undergoing such tests.

The characteristics of fireworks are very strange.

You might say it enjoys fighting, but fighting doesn't seem to contribute much to its growth, at least not to the extent that it's reflected in its growth projections.

You might say it likes to absorb things, but even though Zhou Lu has stacked Fireworks' attributes to more than double the average, he hasn't seen Fireworks experience any leap in growth.

Although the level calculated from Fireworks' growth continued to increase steadily during this period, it clearly did not conform to the patterns summarized by Beastmasters regarding rapid growth.

If we find the sensitive point for Hanabi's growth, this month of leveling up day and night will be enough to make Hanabi grow to the evolution standard.

It's worth noting that when the Beast Tamers waged war against the Immortals, they used this kind of frenzied growth and evolution to directly defeat the Immortal race, which had stopped producing new immortals.

Back then, beast tamers were truly fearless, and trading one for one with the enemy was a very common tactic.

Because they knew very well that immortals were becoming fewer and fewer as they died, while their descendants were endless!

Emerging from the secret realm once again, Zhou Lu sat at his desk, staring at the dozens of pages of discarded drafts about fireworks training, and scratched his head in frustration.

"If all else fails, just practice like this," Xiaoxi said calmly, sipping her tea. "Isn't absorbing large amounts of energy the fastest way for Hanabi to evolve, as you tested it out? Just practice like this."

As she spoke, Xiaoxi glanced at Hanabi beside her and continued, "Anyway, as long as she's training, she'll always be growing, and sooner or later Hanabi will be able to reach the evolution standard."

"You don't understand." Zhou Lu sighed and shook his head. "This kind of training is enough for second-order evolution, but what about third-order? Fourth-order? Fifth-order? The gap between subsequent levels gets bigger and bigger."

When Zhou Lu spoke, his voice involuntarily became a little louder.

He was indeed getting a little anxious.

The truth behind the father's death, the direction of Hanabi's unusual evolution, the shadow surrounding Suzaku's dung, and the attack on the Sticky Baby breeding base...

Zhou Lu always felt that a huge conspiracy was lurking around him.

In addition, there's a blatant system notification.

He was eager to become stronger, the faster the better.

Hanabi sensed her owner's emotions and became sad as well.

Although it didn't understand why its owner was so anxious, it knew that its slow growth seemed to be making its owner even more anxious.

Xiaoxi looked at the wilted grass and sighed.

Although beast tamers and their spirit pets cannot communicate verbally, they can sense each other's emotions, and one's negative emotions are likely to affect the other.

Moreover, this influence is often greater on the weaker party than on the stronger party.

Xiaoxi patted the leaves of the firework and said softly, "Go make your master a cup of tea."

Upon hearing about making tea, Hanabi immediately perked up, hunched over, and ran to the kitchen by the door, starting to rummage through drawers and cupboards.

Fireworks' actions did not attract Zhou Lu's attention. He felt that his mind was a complete mess and he could not find any clues at all.

Zhou Lu wrote out the training content one by one, and then crossed it out again after verification.

In order to verify the extent to which the training content affected his growth and evolution, he became so impatient that he would go to the growth calculation center to perform a calculation on Huohua every time he came out of the secret realm.

To the students, this was an incredibly extravagant act.

Keep in mind that 10 credits are enough to buy the evolution materials for a spirit pet on the academy forum.

Where exactly?

What went wrong?

What should I do to help Hanabi grow quickly?

If things continue at the current growth rate, it will take at least another month for my Fireworks to reach level 19 and bloom.

In that case, will we have to go back to the system timeline?

Do I really have to wait until the system pops up a task to "stop the evolution of fireworks" before I can find the sensitive point of the evolution of fireworks?

Countless questions flooded Zhou Lu's mind, turning his thoughts into a jumbled mess.

Just then, he felt a light touch on his ankle.

Zhou Lu felt even more irritated. He looked down and saw Huahuo holding a teacup, looking at him with concern.

After a pause, Hanabi twisted her vines with difficulty, as if she wanted to say something.

After several failed attempts, the fireworks finally spelled out two words:

Come on!

It didn't know the meaning of those two words, but Xiaoxi said they were magic that could encourage its master!

Fireworks want to help its owner cheer up!

Upon seeing the words "Keep it up," Zhou Lu's pent-up frustration suddenly vanished.

The lovely fireworks were trying to help me get rid of my negative emotions in their own way.

Even the little grass is working so hard, why should I be angry with myself?

Taming beasts.

Defense is a skill.

Animals are the foundation.

Zhou Lu raised his hand and gently rubbed the tender bud of the firework, smiling sincerely, "Thank you, firework."

Sensing its owner's response, Hanabi immediately expressed its joy: (*^▽^*)

Along with its small face, a flower bud as white as jade quickly grew out from among its branches and leaves.

Under the dim light, the Dream Rain Flower bloomed.

The revival match... failed...
