The Silent Witch of Hogwarts
Chapter 626 Hogwarts
Chapter 626 Hogwarts
While the two were talking in Nurmengard, Hogwarts was much more lively.
After successfully defeating the Ministry of Magic and Umbridge, the students had a few happy days, but as these days passed and Dumbledore returned—everyone noticed something was wrong.
Because—Professor Hamilton—is missing!
The Pinecone Party students were the first to discover the news. They were surprised to find that Professor Hamilton had completely disappeared, even though she usually hid alone in her office.
But occasionally, she would quietly leave her office and wander through some of the most secluded corridors of Hogwarts, where encountering Professor Hamilton was one of the Pinecone Party's pastimes.
But they hadn't seen Professor Hamilton for the past few days—until the day of class, when all the secrets were revealed.
"Professor Hamilton has to leave Hogwarts temporarily due to some matters." McGonagall's expression was not good, and her words caused the students to gasp in surprise.
Professor Hamilton is clearly the hero of Hogwarts this time, but he has nowhere to be found!
Could he have been killed by Voldemort?
Or was Professor Hamilton seriously injured?
Could it be that Professor Hamilton betrayed us?
In no time, this strange news spread throughout the entire Hogwarts.
But whatever the rumor, it's not good news for the students.
"Perhaps Professor Hamilton went on a secret mission for Headmaster Dumbledore, right?" Hermione reassured the others.
The auditorium was now filled with members of the Pinecone Party.
But she also understood that this was unlikely, because Professor McGonagall and Headmaster Dumbledore's expressions never looked too good whenever they talked about Professor Hamilton.
This is clearly not a good thing —
Especially Headmaster Dumbledore, who even pretended not to hear the question after hearing it.
But for the students, there was no other way to find out the truth of the matter except to ask.
Harry even asked Sirius Black, but didn't get any useful clues.
It seems that Professor Hamilton has vanished into thin air!
"Pansy—could you ask your brother?" a Pinecone Party member asked slowly. "I remember they were friends, weren't they?"
"I've already told my brother—but—" Pansy said, shaking her head, "He doesn't seem to know either."
"And the Ministry of Magic has been very busy lately."
What she said was true. With the Ministry of Magic now being rebuilt, Director Scrimgeour becoming the new Minister of Magic, and the imminent threat of Voldemort, there was a whole host of things waiting for the Ministry of Magic to deal with.
It is said that Pansy's brother has been so busy that he hasn't had a proper rest for several days.
"What about Luna?" Several more students looked at Luna.
This brought her back to her senses, as she was somewhat dazed.
"Luna, do you know anything about Professor Hamilton?" they asked.
Luna blinked, placed her smooth hands on her chin, and said slowly, "We don't need to worry—we don't need to worry about Professor Hamilton."
"Because she'll come back, won't she?"
"Why are you so sure?" several students asked.
"Because of—the agreement?" Luna shrugged as she spoke, her somewhat strange statement causing everyone to sigh.
Not everyone is as optimistic as she is.
But this is also a very real situation: the students are powerless to do anything about it, since they can't leave Hogwarts, and of course, they have no way of doing these things.
Looking at the flickering candlelight, Hermione sighed softly.
Headmaster Dumbledore—What exactly happened at the Ministry of Magic?
"Albus—when will Professor Hamilton finally return?" In the Headmaster's office, McGonagall looked at Dumbledore and asked slowly, "Isn't she the Hogwarts Magic Circle Professor?"
"How can the course proceed without her?"
"And she's the hero who saved the students," McGonagall said slowly. "The students ask about it every day."
0
"Let them ask," Dumbledore said calmly. "In a month or two, no one will ask anymore."
"Albus!" McGonagall was a little displeased upon hearing this. She looked at Dumbledore and said, "You mean—"
Is she not coming back for at least a month or two?
"It's hard to say, Minerva," Dumbledore said, shaking his head. "It could be a year or two."

McGonagall looked incredulous upon hearing this.
"You're being a bit too cold-hearted — Albus."
What exactly happened at the Ministry of Magic?
"Nothing," Dumbledore shook his head gently. "Just as I said, Voldemort escaped."
"And what about Professor Hamilton?"
Dumbledore looked quietly at McGonagall and slowly asked, "Minerva—I don't recall you being so close to her."
“We—” McGonagall paused slightly, “Dumbledore—you and I both know what kind of person Miss Hamilton is.”
"And that's why I miss her so much."
"She's a genius—but sometimes she can't even handle the simplest things," McGonagall said slowly. "If she gets stuck on something—"
"There's no need to worry about her so much," Dumbledore interrupted McGonagall. "Miss Hamilton will be fine."
"But----"
"Minerva—Hogwarts still has much work to do that needs your help," Dumbledore said slowly. "Go and get to work."
"Also, don't ask any more questions about Miss Hamilton." Dumbledore looked at McGonagall quietly, without any expression.
, "
Upon hearing this, McGonagall sighed softly. She looked at Dumbledore with a complex expression, and finally walked out with a hint of helplessness.
As she left, Dumbledore sighed softly—he slowly opened a drawer in the table and took out a ring.
This is the Horcrux ring from Fudge, but what truly attracted Dumbledore was not the ring itself—but the gem on the ring.
Looking at the gem, Dumbledore showed no expression. He simply stared at the gem, motionless, as if even his eyes had been drawn into it.
"Clatter".
Just then, a soft sound came from behind. Dumbledore blinked and looked at the wizard chess set that had been sitting on the table, untouched.
And now, the Wizard's Chess has moved—a piece has been slowly moved out.
Seeing this, Dumbledore nodded knowingly and then put the ring back in the drawer of the table.
"That was a good move," he said calmly, looking at the chess piece.
