The Silent Witch of Hogwarts
Chapter 679 Trap
Chapter 679 Trap
Horcrux~ Horcrux~ Where are you?
Loila held up the compass and continued to explore forward. The fact that she could be found by the compass meant that the Horcrux was close enough that she could definitely find it on foot.
But finding it wasn't enough—she also needed to prepare for battle—Loira gripped her wand tightly and carefully took steps. Soon she noticed that the surrounding bushes were thinning out and her field of vision was gradually opening up.
Finally, as her head swayed as she peeked out from the woods, a small swamp came into view.
Among the scattered lakes and wetlands, there is a small place that resembles an altar. The altar is surrounded by a pale blue barrier, and in the center of the altar, there is a square stone placed quietly. Hmm.
Is that stone a Horcrux?
Loila, wand in hand, did not step inside. Instead, she cautiously surveyed her surroundings to make sure there was no danger. Her blue eyes moved slightly as she looked at every blade of grass and every clump of trees.
But this place is very open—even if there's an ambush or something, it's hard to hide—and if someone really tries to sneak up on me, I can immediately wave my wand and run away.
After waiting a few more seconds to make sure there was no danger, Loila carefully walked from the few dry spots in the swamp toward the altar.
With each step she took, she carefully looked around—mainly because this was a Horcrux—it was obviously unlikely that there wasn't a protector, right?
However, that seemed to be the case, because even after Loila walked up to the Horcrux, she didn't see anything suspicious.
Looking at the thin blue barrier in front of him, Roy guessed that this might be some kind of magic array prop—it felt like it was imitating a blocking magic array—but if it could continue like this, how big would the energy storage magic array have to be?
Roy didn't think anyone could draw such a large energy storage magic circle and keep it working—the accumulated magic power alone would burn the energy storage magic circle up, right?
What happened?
It's impossible that someone is slowly injecting magic into it, right?
If that's the case—
"Buzz!"
Suddenly, a soft sound came from behind her, followed by a chill. Loila instinctively turned to the side, only to have a ghastly green spell strike the barrier.
Is it a death curse?!
Sure enough, there's a protector!
Loila immediately turned and raised her wand, watching warily where the spell had come from—but what she saw was Voldemort in a black robe, standing in the swamp with a smile on his face.
How did they manage to do that?
I clearly didn't see anyone there.
Wait, is Voldemort hiding in the swamp?!
Loila realized something was wrong and raised her wand to use Apparition.
But when the wand was swung, nothing happened.
The reason is also very simple.
"Hamilton—you idiot!" Voldemort sneered at Loira. "You didn't think you could escape using Apparition, did you?"
"I've set a trap here," he said, raising an eyebrow. "This is where you'll meet your end."
"Hmm!" Loila gripped her wand tightly, cautiously looking around, but she didn't see any attackers—
Voldemort stood alone in the swamp.
You think you can take me down all by yourself? Isn't that a bit too naive?
Royla quickly calmed down and then aimed her wand at Voldemort.
Voldemort raised an eyebrow, then shrugged. "Hamilton—you don't think I'd come looking for you alone, do you?"
"Isn't this a bit too disrespectful to our Silent Witch?"
As he spoke, Loila gradually realized that the world around her was beginning to grow cold—yes, cold.
Not only the physical sensation, but even the surrounding swamp had somehow become covered with a thin layer of frost.
The arrival of this frost signifies only one thing.
The Dementors have arrived.
Loila shuddered and looked up, only to be met with an overwhelming darkness. Dementors gathered in the air, pressing down like solid clouds.
The overwhelming darkness made Loila instinctively take a few steps back, but for a moment she didn't know how to escape.
No—no, this won't do!
Loila's hand holding the wand trembled slightly. Even if dozens of Death Eaters suddenly emerged from the water, Loila wouldn't necessarily be afraid—but Dementors—
One Roila was already too much to handle, let alone so many—so many—
Loila's legs went weak just looking at it. She leaned against the barrier, trembling and unsure of what to do. Her pointed ears twitched incessantly, and her face was deathly pale.
"Hahahaha." Voldemort laughed at the sight, his smug expression leaving Loira at a loss for words.
Now—what do we do now?!
"Calm down—calm down, Loila!" Miss Nagini transformed into human form and hugged Loila tightly, placing her hands on Loila's shoulders as she said, "Calm down! Use the Patronus Charm!"
"But I—but I can't—" Roy's hands and feet were ice-cold, and she instinctively felt fear as she looked at the monster hovering in the air.
Dementors signify misfortune, fear, and the robbing of all happiness.
The only Guardian Charm capable of combating Dementors—Royla never learned—
Happiness—thinking about it now—is too late—I can't think of anything happy at all—I simply—
I can't do it —
"Loila!" Nagini slapped Loila's face and said, "Can you hear me?!"
"Loila!"
Loila pursed her lips and gritted her teeth, watching the Dementors rushing towards her. She took a deep breath and pulled out the Space Extension Book from her bosom.
"Loila, what are you doing—" Before Miss Nagini could finish speaking, Loila stuffed her inside. After stuffing Miss Nagini inside, Loila raised her wand, aimed it at the Space Stretch Book, and threw it away.
Voldemort simply watched this scene quietly, then kept smiling.
"Hamilton, it seems you've chosen death." He shrugged, then looked at the resolute-faced girl. "Let the Dementors play with you for now."
"But I have my own things to do."
He winked and said, "Farewell, Miss Hamilton."
As he spoke, he took a few steps back, then flicked his cloak and disappeared from the spot.
As Voldemort vanished completely, the Dementors swarmed forward, charging at Royla as if savoring a delicious meal. Royla faced them—
She could only helplessly hold up her wand, repeatedly chanting "God's Protection" in her heart.
But it's clear that curses we didn't know before won't be learned just because a crisis is coming, and happiness we didn't have before won't appear just because we need it.
Loila's happiness seemed to have never existed, or perhaps it had sunk into the river of time, just like her father and mother, who would never return.
