Chapter 686 Remembering the Sacrifice
"Miss Hamilton."
McGonagall pushed open the door and entered the principal's office, where she saw a girl sitting quietly in a chair, looking at various documents in front of her.
"Um?"
This somewhat unexpected scene surprised McGonagall for a moment. She pursed her lips and said, "Miss Hamilton, what's going on?"
"Ah—I'm looking—looking at what Headmaster Dumbledore left behind—" Royla rubbed her reddened eyes and said, "I believe—there must be a way to deal with Voldemort among what he left behind—"
"Is that so?" McGonagall nodded gently upon hearing this, and seeing Loila's quiet demeanor, she felt slightly relieved.
She had assumed Loila would be devastated—after all, her relationship with Dumbledore seemed exceptionally deep—but she was actually much stronger.
This was by no means a sign of her coldness—the slightly reddened eyes and trembling fingers actually indicated what she had just experienced.
Even so—she still sat there resolutely, in the place where she should be now.
"Miss Hamilton—if you encounter any difficulties, please tell me," McGonagall said quietly, sitting down opposite her. "I will help you."
"Hmm—" Loila bit her lip slightly upon hearing this, then nodded. After a few seconds, she slowly raised her head, looked at McGonagall, and nodded: "I—I will, Professor McGonagall—"
"You don't need to call me Professor McGonagall anymore, just call me Minerva," McGonagall said softly, placing her hand on Loira's. "That's what Headmaster Dumbledore used to call me."
"Then—then I—"
"I'll call you Royla too," McGonagall said, nodding gently. "And I'll help you just as I helped Headmaster Dumbledore—"
"Thank you—thank you, Minerva." Loila was a little nervous, calling Professor McGonagall's name for the first time, but she looked at Professor McGonagall's gentle smile.
She made up her mind that she must be strong—yes—Dumbledore was dead—and she had become the headmaster of Hogwarts.
At the very least, we must protect the students and professors here—that's how we repay Dumbledore's trust—although Roy didn't want his trust, nor did she want this so-called headmaster position—she would rather stay outside Hogwarts and leave this place to a cunning old man.
But since things have already come to this—then all we can do is look forward, right?
Loila pursed her lips and slowly said, "Has Voldemort shown any reaction lately?"
"Voldemort—" McGonagall paused upon hearing this before saying, "He announced the establishment of a new Ministry of Magic a few days ago."
"A new—Ministry of Magic?" Loila was slightly taken aback upon hearing this. "That's right." McGonagall sighed and said, "He announced that the old Ministry of Magic had been abolished, and now, with the support of many pure-blood families, he has established a new Ministry of Magic."
"Lucius Malfoy will serve as minister."
"Therefore, Hogwarts has also been declared an illegal entity." McGonagall paused, then added, "It won't be long before they attack this place."
"What about the old Ministry of Magic? Mr. Scrimgeour and the others—" Loila asked immediately.
"They're safe for now," McGonagall said, shaking her head slightly. "But three days ago, Voldemort attacked the Ministry of Magic, and many Aurors announced their departure from the Ministry, while others joined the new Ministry—and still others sided with Minister Scrimgeour."
"But they can't stay at the old Ministry of Magic site any longer."
"I understand." Loila twitched her ears and breathed a slight sigh of relief—at least Mr. Scrinker and Mr. Parkinson were alright.
"Could you write them a letter for me?"
"I want to meet him."
“Of course, Loira.” McGonagall nodded and asked, “And then—is there anything else I need to do?”
"And then—" Loila said after thinking for a few seconds, "and Miss Siri, the head of the Hamilton family, and Miss Emma Rozier of the Rozier family."
"I hope I can send them a letter too—I also want to meet with each of them individually."
"I understand." McGonagall nodded slightly upon hearing this, then asked, "Then we need to talk to the Order of the Phoenix—"
"The Order of the Phoenix is now under Moody's leadership, but they can no longer stay at Black's old house," McGonagall said, lowering her voice. "With Dumbledore's passing—the protective spell that once protected the place has been broken."
"They were worried about being attacked by Death Eaters, so they have evacuated to other places."
"Hmm." Loila nodded gently upon hearing this, realizing that she should indeed meet with the people from the Order of the Phoenix.
To deal with Voldemort now, I need support from all sides.
After all, she was now—Luo Yi glanced at her right hand, the stinging sensation making her frown as soon as she exerted force.
Just trying to defeat Voldemort on your own is already an impossible task.
We must rely on the strength of everyone.
"Then please write a letter to Mr. Moody as well—we should meet." Mag nodded at Loila's words.
Then she paused, as if thinking of something, and pursed her lips: "Um—there's one more thing." Loila seemed a little hesitant.
"Please speak."
"I want to say something at the banquet tonight—may I?" Loila blinked.
"Of course, Loila," McGonagall chuckled softly. "If you're unwilling, it would put me in a difficult position."
"Hmm." Loila nodded, then took a deep breath.
She felt she had to say something to the students who were still willing to stay at school, at the very least letting them know that she would protect them.
Even though I don't have the power I used to have, I will never—I will never—let them be threatened by Voldemort.
Watching Professor McGonagall leave, Loila took a deep breath and cursed Dumbledore in her mind once more.
It's all his fault—he died so irresponsibly and suddenly—enough is enough!
Loila sighed, then looked at the documents again.
While Loila was deep in thought at Hogwarts, in a small town in southern Germany, a dark-haired woman sat in a café, frowning.
Opposite her sat a woman with equally black hair, but this woman had a pair of cold, purple eyes.
"It's been a long time, Miss Rozier." Nagini pursed her lips as she looked at her.
"Did you go into hibernation?" Nagini said, glancing around. "And in a place like this—unless you can pull the Elder Wand out of your pocket—"
"What I can offer is far more useful than that stick," Shiloh said coolly. "But—I need to be sure if I can offer it."
"What does this mean?" Nagini frowned slightly.
"I want to ask you something," Shiloh said casually, then picked up her coffee and took a sip.
"It's related to Loila."
