Battle Through the Heavens: Starting from the Jia Ma Empire

Chapter 24 Gathering Qi Powder?

Inside a quiet assessment room at the Alchemist Guild.

Watching Lin Feng's fluid movements, Fa Ma couldn't help but stroke his beard and sigh inwardly, "With such skill, it's not impossible that he'll become a fourth-grade alchemist soon."

Looking at Lin Feng's youthful profile, Fa Ma couldn't help but sigh, "Gu He was already a prodigy back then, but I wonder if Lin Feng, who is even more outstanding, will be able to go further and reach the legendary seventh-grade realm?"

As for an eighth-grade alchemy master, Fa Ma wouldn't even dare to dream of it. After all, in this barren Northwest Continent, even a seventh-grade alchemist is a rare sight.

Even in the vast Gama Empire, there's only one low-level sixth-grade alchemist. And not even in the Alchemist Guild. Thinking of this, Fa Ma blushed.

It's a dereliction of duty that the most powerful alchemist in a country didn't come from the Alchemist Guild.

However, looking at Lin Feng in the arena, Fama had an idea pop into his mind, and the more he thought about it, the better it seemed.

"Zzzzz."

Flames burned continuously inside the cauldron. Lin Feng, who possessed the five elements, could refine the medicine with ease, even without considering his own powerful Dou Qi at the Dou Ling realm.

Under Lin Feng's powerful soul force, the flames relentlessly scorched the third-tier magic core. After an unknown period of time, it finally transformed into a ball of colorful liquid shimmering with energy fluctuations.

"It's time," Lin Feng said. Suddenly, his hand seals changed, drawing in the medicinal liquid from the smelting of the Heart-Cleansing Clover, Buddha Heart Fruit, and Spirit-Absorbing Tree that were suspended inside the medicine cauldron.

After reaching a certain balance within the medicine cauldron, a powerful spiritual force burst forth, entered through the cauldron's opening, and pressed down hard onto the medicinal mass.

"Knock knock knock"

A powerful energy surge emanated, slamming against the walls of the cauldron and producing a series of sounds. Fortunately, Lin Feng's cauldron was of decent quality; otherwise, there would have been a real risk of it exploding. It's important to understand that pills contain immense energy, and if they were to explode accidentally, the alchemist could even be seriously injured.

"It's done!"

With a wave of his hand, a pure white pill appeared in Lin Feng's palm. As he expected, it was another top-grade pill with pill patterns.

"President Fa Ma, please take a look. This is the third-grade pill, the Awakening Pill." Lin Feng handed the pill in his palm to Fa Ma, who had walked over.

"Its color is pure white, and its aroma has the effect of clearing the mind. This is definitely a Mind-Awakening Pill." Fa Ma carefully examined the pill in his palm. "Moreover, it is a Mind-Awakening Pill with pill patterns. It seems that your experience in refining third-grade pills is already extremely proficient. You will soon be promoted to a fourth-grade alchemist."

Awakening Spirit Pill: Ranked third grade, its effect is to make the cultivator more sensitive to energy and increase the efficiency of energy absorption. The refining materials are Cleansing Clover, Buddha Heart Fruit, Spirit Absorbing Tree, and one third-tier magic core. (Thanks to Kongcheng Xian Hongchen for providing the information, hahaha, another filler chapter!)

Looking at Lin Feng's youthful face, the aged Fama couldn't help but sigh again, "Truly a young man of great talent and spirit."

Seeing Fa Ma's sigh, Lin Feng's lips curled into a smirk as he interrupted, "Guild Master Fa Ma, I wonder if I may continue with the assessment for a fourth-grade alchemist?"

"Hmm, sure," Fa Ma examined the pill in his palm, pondering how to get this prodigy, whose talent surpassed even Gu He's, to join the Alchemist Guild. Therefore, upon hearing Lin Feng's voice, he instinctively wanted to agree.

"What? The assessment for a fourth-grade alchemist?" Fa Ma came to his senses, his eyes filled with disbelief.

"Lin Feng, do you still remember the rule I told you? If you fail the assessment in one year, you can only take it again the following year. Even if you are a genius, you still have to abide by it." Fa Ma paused after speaking, and then continued, "As long as you listen to my advice, I will personally guide you and I will definitely help you reach the fourth rank within half a year."

"I thank you for your guidance, guild leader. However, I am still quite confident in my ability to refine fourth-grade pills."

"Very well, I'll trust you for now!" Looking at the spirited Lin Feng, Fa Ma couldn't help but be slightly moved.

After the staff had prepared the pills needed for the assessment, Fa Ma turned to Lin Feng again and said, "Lin Feng, boy, if you give up now, study with me for half a year, and you'll definitely be able to advance to the fourth rank!"

Looking at the serious-looking Pharaoh, Lin Feng clasped his hands in a respectful gesture and said solemnly, "This humble one thanks Pharaoh for his concern, but I still wish to give it a try."

"Very well," Fa Ma said, seeing Lin Feng's persistence, and instead encouraged him, "Lin Feng, if you pass the test, you will be the youngest fourth-grade alchemist in the Jia Ma Empire in hundreds of years. At that time, I will personally give you a fifth-grade pill formula."

Lin Feng was taken aback, and his opinion of the old man who had been testing him changed a little. Then he walked towards the assessment platform.

Looking at the two medicinal herbs and a scroll that were also placed on the table, Lin Feng picked up the scroll directly this time.

Qi Gathering Powder: Ranked fourth grade, its effect is to allow a person with perfected Battle Qi to condense a 100% Battle Qi vortex. The main ingredients for its preparation are Ink Leaf Lotus, Snake Saliva Fruit, Spirit Gathering Grass, and a second-tier water-attribute magic core.

"The easiest fourth-grade pill to refine?" Looking at the scroll in his palm, Lin Feng thought to himself, "Looks like I still need to thank the Pharaoh properly."

After memorizing the prescription and reviewing it three times with his eyes closed to confirm its accuracy, Lin Feng suddenly opened his eyes, reached into his storage ring, and the five medicine cauldrons reappeared in the room.

"Bang!"

The beast fire rose from his palm, and Lin Feng waved his hand to send it into the cauldron, beginning the process of nurturing the cauldron.

After the cauldron reached a suitable temperature, Lin Feng did not put all the medicinal herbs into it at once. After all, this was his first time refining a fourth-grade medicine. Therefore, any caution was necessary.

First, the relatively easy-to-extract black lotus leaves were placed into the medicine cauldron. "Boom!" The flames began to gradually increase in temperature, and the leaves were carefully roasted according to the method indicated in the prescription.

After the outer lotus leaves were turned to ashes, a small amount of medicinal liquid was finally extracted and controlled to suspend it inside the medicine cauldron.

"Phew!" The first success boosted Lin Feng's confidence, but he didn't dare to be careless. He took a deep breath.

Next, he placed the Snake Saliva Fruit into his storage ring and successfully refined it. Then, he refined the Spirit Gathering Grass, which also succeeded as expected. Lin Feng exhaled another breath of turbid air and looked at the final second-tier water-attribute magic core.

Although water and fire can sometimes be mutually supportive, they are mostly mutually destructive. Therefore, even though Lin Feng has refined water-attribute magic cores many times, he still dares not be careless.

After sending the demon core into the medicine cauldron, Lin Feng suddenly increased his soul power, carefully observing the condition of the demon core, preparing to deal with any possible situation at any time.

Just as Lin Feng increased his spiritual power, Fa Ma, who was supervising the assessment ten meters away, suddenly widened his eyes, "This, this spiritual power, how is this possible!?"

Are you all asleep yet? Haha, another late night. Starting today, I'm setting a goal to never go to bed later than this time. Let's all take care of our health together.
