This is a bizarre rule, isn't it? It's supposed to grant me many children and good fortune
Chapter 618 A Battlefield? Then I guess I'll have to bring it out.
Lin Feng rolled out of bed, casually threw on a T-shirt, walked over and opened the door—
The morning light, carried by the sea breeze, rushed in from outside the door, and a slender figure stood against the light.
Lin Feng narrowed his eyes.
The person who arrived was wearing a loose white cotton T-shirt, the hem of which was casually tucked into light blue denim shorts, revealing a pair of straight and slender legs.
Her long hair was tied into a high ponytail, and her sideburns were neatly trimmed without a single stray hair.
It's Xia Ning.
"Ningning?!" Lin Feng was slightly taken aback. "So early?"
Xia Ning raised an eyebrow, one hand in her shorts pocket, a slight smile playing on her lips: "What, not welcome?"
Lin Feng quickly shook his head, smiling as he stepped aside:
"How could that be? We've been waiting for you to come! Where's Xiao Zhixia?"
"Don't worry, there's a nanny to take care of her."
As Xia Ning spoke, she naturally reached out and grabbed Lin Feng's wrist, her grip light but carrying an undeniable air of authority, "Let's go."
Before the words were finished, a figure wrapped in a bathrobe hurriedly rushed out from the inner room.
Su Wan's long hair was slightly disheveled, and her eyes still held the languor of someone who had just woken up, but she took three steps in two to block Lin Feng's path.
Her almond-shaped eyes, still misty with sleepiness, had already locked onto Xia Ning:
"Where are you taking your husband?"
Xia Ning's smile remained unchanged, but instead took on a mischievous tinge:
"Of course we're going to have a nice meal. I've already booked a room by the hour."
Su Wan's pupils shrank: "No... you're here so early in the morning? You're really asking for trouble."
"The early bird catches the worm," Xia Ning said matter-of-factly, raising her chin before changing the subject and glancing at Su Wan's face.
"By the way, you didn't break your promise and cheat on me last night, did you?"
Lin Feng shrugged, his expression nonchalant: "Look at how refreshed I am now, do I look like I've been through a lot last night?"
"That's good." Xia Ning nodded in satisfaction, then grabbed Lin Feng's arm again. "Let's go, honey."
Su Wan immediately bristled, blocking the doorway with her arms outstretched:
"No way! My husband and I slept together first, so if anyone's going to eat, it's me first!"
Xia Ning remained calm and tilted her head slightly:
"I told you yesterday that I'd come to see my husband tomorrow morning—the meaning is very clear: you're not allowed to touch him in the morning."
"You mean morning," Su Wan retorted, speaking rapidly, "Morning is from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., but it's 6:55 a.m. now, which is early morning."
"Early morning is just a more specific term used in books. Who can distinguish between early morning and morning? As soon as you open your eyes and it gets light, it's morning," Xia Ning said confidently.
Su Wan sneered:
"It's understandable that others can't tell the difference, but you're different."
"You're the former chief flight attendant for the Yongyan flight, you know all the timelines by heart, how could you not distinguish between early morning and morning?"
"You're clearly pretending not to know what's going on, deliberately arriving early to interrupt my husband and me's rare morning intimacy."
Xia Ning raised an eyebrow slightly, her tone neither hurried nor slow:
"Common sense is for ordinary people to follow; the strong are free to define their own time."
"In my rules, the time when dawn breaks is the time when my agreed-upon morning time will take effect."
"You're using the concept of time to stop me, but the one who truly intends to destroy my relationship with my husband is you!"
The two locked eyes, and the tension in the air almost solidified.
Seeing that things were going wrong, Lin Feng quickly stepped in between the two and cleared his throat:
"By the way, which of you two wants to read the new issue of 'The Earl's Crimson Contract'?"
This comic book was the opportunity for the two to reconcile, let go of their grudges, and gradually become best friends. Now, Lin Feng can only use this one and only trump card to get out of this predicament.
As soon as he finished speaking, Su Wan and Xia Ning, who had been on the verge of exchanging blows, both froze, their fierce expressions instantly freezing, and stared at Lin Feng in astonishment.
After a brief moment of distraction, the two almost simultaneously voiced their doubts.
"The new issue is still three days away from its official release, so it's impossible for it to be available on the market."
How did you end up with the publication ahead of time?
Lin Feng smiled mysteriously:
"Before entering the dungeon last time, I had Laifu pre-order the limited edition lifetime collector's edition of this comic, which included the exclusive right to unlock the physical book of the new issue three days in advance in the contract."
"The printing factory just shipped the goods yesterday, and they immediately sent a deliveryman to deliver them to the hotel."
As he spoke, he flipped his wrist, and a beautifully bound magazine appeared out of thin air in his palm.
The cover uses a hot stamping and embossing process, with intricate rose vines meandering on a dark red background. In the center is the silhouette of the male and female protagonists facing each other, and the interplay of light and shadow exudes a forbidden yet intense atmosphere.
A metallic badge is embedded in the spine of the book, reflecting a subtle luster in the morning light, giving it a very sophisticated feel.
Su Wan's eyes lit up, and she immediately reached out, "I want to see!"
Xia Ning was not to be outdone, and almost simultaneously reached out to snatch it.
Lin Feng reacted swiftly, retracting his wrist to retrieve the publication back into his personal space. He then raised a finger, feigning seriousness:
"Now, either you two watch it together, or neither of you watches it. Choose one."
The two pouted and glared at each other, but their eyes simultaneously drifted to Lin Feng's empty palm.
Unable to resist the allure of the new issue, Su Wan turned her face away and snorted, "Let's read it together then."
Xia Ning pursed her lips, which was taken as tacit agreement.
Lin Feng nodded in satisfaction, then led the two to sit down on the sofa and took the magazine out again, placing it on the coffee table in front of them.
Su Wan and Xia Ning each reached out and grabbed one side of the book cover, eagerly turning to the first page.
The pages of the book rustled open, and the two of them leaned in almost simultaneously, shoulder to shoulder, their eyes rapidly scanning each panel.
Xia Ning's finger gently traced the dialogue box, while Su Wan would occasionally rewind to rewatch a particular frame, muttering to herself as she reviewed the plot.
The two followed the plot's ups and downs in sync, sharing a quiet indignation when they saw the villain causing trouble, and chuckling in unison when they read famous scenes and interacted. They then engaged in a lively discussion about the characters' foreshadowing and the plot's direction, their close relationship completely transforming them back into the best of friends they used to be.
Lin Feng leaned against the bar counter and watched the two heads huddled together on the sofa, sometimes slapping their legs and sometimes covering their mouths. He couldn't help but smile.
That's how a family should be—harmonious.
The clock on the wall slowly struck eight. Lin Feng raised his hand and tapped the bar counter.
"Gentlemen, shouldn't we consider having breakfast?"
Su Wan and Xia Ning looked up at the same time, exchanged a glance, and belatedly realized that they had been watching for more than an hour. They quickly got up, linked arms with each other, and walked towards the door, still arguing about the plot of the next episode.
........................
At the breakfast table, Su Wan, biting her straw, suddenly had a bright look in her eyes:
"By the way, I'm planning to display this series of comics in the coffee shop, and we can also do murals, and even develop related coffees or desserts—like a 'Crimson Contract' special blend or something."
Xia Ning was stunned; the piece of smoked salmon on the tip of her fork hovered in mid-air.
"What coffee shop?"
