The Bard of Hogwarts
Chapter 169 The Captured Banban
Chapter 169 The Captured Banban
1993 9 Month 1 Day.
London's King's Cross station was bustling with people as always.
Ino, carrying her suitcase, crossed Platform 9¾ and stood quietly beside the train.
A long, deep blue robe accentuated his upright posture, and his handsome features, now free of childishness, made him a pleasing sight to behold simply by standing there.
Beside him stood another platinum-haired boy. Over the summer, Draco seemed to have grown quite a bit taller, but his expression was somewhat gloomy.
"Ino, why are we just standing here like idiots and being stared at?"
"I'm not standing here like an idiot, I'm waiting for someone! But you don't need to stay here, go back to your car and rest."
Although he was responding, Ino's eyes remained fixed on the platform entrance; he was waiting for Snape.
"Back to the carriage?" Draco quickly shook his head, saying in a somewhat dejected tone, "I don't want to face that crazy Pansy. And you, really, you promised to tutor her, but you didn't choose Muggle Studies."
Hearing this, Ino turned her head, glanced at Draco who was behaving strangely, and explained, "I haven't forgotten our promise, but I've lived in the Muggle world for 12 years, so there are some things I know without even attending classes. But you, why do you seem a little afraid of her?"
"Phew! That's good." Draco breathed a sigh of relief.
"It's not that I'm scared, but I just feel like there's something strange about her, and Daphne too. You don't know, but during the summer they started their own history of magic review course, and then they wrote to us, asking everyone to go..."
Listening to Draco's narration, Ino felt somewhat helpless, or rather, somewhat caught off guard. It seemed that the butterfly flapping its wings in the Amazon rainforest had gradually flown to the South Atlantic.
Just as Draco opened his mouth to say something, Ino interrupted, "Alright! The person I'm waiting for has arrived. Excuse me!"
Following the gaze, Draco also stared wide-eyed, looking as if he had seen a ghost.
Snape appeared on the platform with a blank expression and was slowly walking towards the train. No young wizards stopped within a three-meter radius of him.
It's no wonder the young wizards reacted this way, because although Snape didn't show much expression, his eyes were no longer empty as before; they were now hawk-like eyes surveying his surroundings.
Suddenly, Snape stopped in his tracks, and his gaze softened slightly when he saw the figure in front of him.
"Are you afraid I won't be able to catch him?"
"No! I'm afraid you'll kill him in a fit of anger! Professor, that's not worth it; the Cruciatus Curse is enough..."
Ino stopped mid-sentence, sensing someone approaching from behind. He slowly turned around, and Snape, expressionless, turned around as well.
Draco was filled with remorse for his actions. He shouldn't have stopped, and he shouldn't have followed out of curiosity... Just listen to what he's saying, murder? Cruciatus Curse?
This made him feel that the world had gone mad, that everyone had gone mad, but the most crucial thing now was that the two people in front of him were staring at him without saying a word.
"I didn't hear anything, I was just passing by..." Draco's explanation trailed off.
"Go back! This is none of your business. Close the door and stay in your compartment. This train might be visited by Dementors."
Seeing Draco's somewhat frightened expression, Ino gently offered some words of advice.
However, even this well-intentioned advice caused Draco to flee back to his carriage as if he were escaping, because he had just heard some terrible news: Dementors were coming soon...
……
Oh oh oh!
At 11:00 a.m., the train departed from the platform as scheduled.
This weathered train is speeding along the tracks to Hogwarts at thirty miles per hour.
In a quiet cubicle, Ino and Snape sat facing each other, neither of them speaking.
Similarly, at the back of this train, in another compartment.
Ron recounted his summer vacation experiences at length: the exotic Egypt, the awe-inspiring pyramids, and the local legends about the Pharaoh's curse.
"You have no idea what I went through. I was almost cursed, but if I hadn't reacted quickly..."
Ginny sat to the side, listening to Ron's third version of the story, and lowered her head in exasperation. If it weren't for the inappropriate setting, she would have loved to pull out her wand and give Ron a good whack.
However, Harry listened with great interest to this absurd story, even seeming to want more. He had been going crazy all summer, and even though he knew Ron was making it up, he still played along.
Seeing his friend being so accommodating, Ron put his brain to work as much as possible, and the story suddenly took a bizarre turn.
"You don't know, the Pharaoh's coffin was actually empty, and the real Pharaoh had already been resurrected inside the pyramid..."
One was talking enthusiastically, and the other was listening intently; Ron and Harry were completely unaware that the temperature in the compartment was dropping rapidly.
Only Ginny and Hermione noticed the anomaly. They exchanged a glance and simultaneously pulled out their wands.
In that short time, the windows of the entire compartment were quietly frozen, and even the floor was covered with a thin layer of frost.
"Bang!"
With a loud bang, the cubicle door was violently flung open from the outside.
The story was interrupted, and Ron looked up in annoyance, but his angry expression quickly froze on his face.
Merlin had considered that it was Malfoy causing trouble, or that it was George and Fred playing a prank, but he never imagined that one day the old Batman would kick down the door.
Snape's sudden appearance drew everyone's attention in the cubicle, and just then, a familiar voice came from outside the cubicle.
"I'm sorry to bother you! But there are some things I'll explain to you later. Now, please cooperate with Professor Snape's examination."
Ino poked his head out, looking apologetically at the people in the cubicle. He had to come along this time no matter what, since Snape in this state was still a cause for concern.
"Banban is flying in!"
Without hesitation, Ino made the first move.
As soon as he finished speaking, a fat yellow rat flew out of Ron's pocket. The rat seemed to have not expected to be targeted. The sudden change made it struggle in mid-air, but it was frozen in mid-air in an instant.
"Banban!" Ron was unusually agitated when he saw his pet being caught, and immediately stood up.
"Immediately imprison them!"
Ino cast a second spell, stopping Ron's overreaction. He had come along precisely because he feared something like this might happen; Ron could get hurt, and then Snape would also face punishment.
"Professor, here you go!"
Taking the frozen rat, Snape turned away without a word.
Snape left swiftly, but Ino couldn't just walk away. Looking at the four people with different expressions, he slowly took out a newspaper from his pocket.
"Give me five minutes, just five minutes. After that, you can go after Snape with your wand and fight him to the death."
After looking around, Ino's gaze settled on Ron's face.
But similarly, upon hearing that he was going to fight Snape, Ron deflated like a punctured balloon and stopped struggling.
Today, Xiao Di is sharing Fantastic Beasts: Snidget.
