The Bard of Hogwarts

Chapter 306 Trying to Cheat

Chapter 306 Trying to Cheat

Everything changes; things are always in a state of flux.

Just as Draco was asking about the other two schools, a commotion broke out in the crowd.

"Look at the sky..."

"What is it? Pegasus?"

"What Pegasus? That's Beauxbatons' divine horse! It's as stupid as a goblin..."

As the murmurs arose, more and more young wizards raised their heads.

On the distant horizon, a black dot was approaching at an alarming speed, and gradually everyone saw the enormous creature moving through the clouds.

The magnificent carriage was as large as a house, with many exquisite decorations hanging on its body and even gemstones inlaid on the doors. These gemstones were not just random embellishments.

Upon closer inspection, these gems are arranged in a specific order to form a clear emblem, which looks like two crossed magic wands in a cross shape.

But no matter how luxurious the decorations were, the young wizards present had no interest in appreciating them, because everyone's eyes were focused on the enormous thing in front of the carriage.

It was a huge horse with wings on its back; to be precise, it should be an African elephant that looked like a horse.

With their massive size of nearly fifteen feet, these horses looked quite imposing, and their teacup-sized eyes were an eerie blood red.

A full twelve enormous beasts flew from afar toward the young wizard by the Black Lake, causing some students in the front row to retreat in panic, as if only in this way could they avoid being hit.

At that moment, Rubeus Hagrid, the professor of the Magical Creatures Protection class, stepped forward, his massive frame, comparable in size to the horses, blocking the young wizard's path.

The big guy who used to be laughed at now brought a sense of peace to many people.

Hagrid held up two warning signs as big as dining tables, waving them as he moved around, looking exactly like a Muggle airport ground staff member.

Soon, guided by Hagrid, the horses changed their flight direction.

With a loud thud, the carriage, which resembled a house, came to a smooth stop away from the crowd.

Under everyone's watchful eyes, the carriage door was pushed open from the inside.

A student in a blue robe jumped off the carriage, then waved his wand briefly at the carriage shaft, and a magnificent golden staircase slowly descended.

This extravagance truly opened the eyes of many young wizards. After all, not everyone can have car doors inlaid with gemstones or staircases built of gold…

Throughout Europe, only Beauxbatons could afford such luxury, thanks to its distinguished alumnus, the legendary alchemist Nicolas Flamel.

At the same time.

As the magnificent golden staircase fully unfolded, a huge foot adorned with diamond-encrusted high heels appeared, followed by a woman as tall as Hagrid who slowly stepped out.

Standing at 15 feet tall, approximately 4.5 meters, this woman exuded an overwhelming sense of intimidation the moment she appeared.

Although the woman was about the same height as Hagrid, no one would associate the two of them, and neither would Ino.

Because the lady in front of him was simply too elegant, with her dignified attire, unchanging smile, and consistent stride.

From any perspective, it is impossible to find any impropriety in the manner.

Ino quietly glanced around, her gaze sweeping over the large group of female Hogwarts teachers:

The chubby Professor Pomona, the eccentric and unkempt Trelawney, the old-fashioned Ancient Runes professor Barbling, the ethereal Astronomy professor Sinesta, and even Mrs. Hodge...

It seems that Professor McGonagall is the only one who can be considered capable right now.

Just as Ino was comparing herself to the others, Dumbledore walked forward with a smile. The old headmaster, who was quite tall, looked unusually petite compared to the lady in front of him.

Despite the height difference, Dumbledore still politely took the other's hand and gave a standard hand kiss.

While his behavior was impeccable, it was still visually comical, mainly because the other person's single hand almost covered most of Dumbledore's cheek.

Because of the distance, many people could not hear the two people's conversation.

Soon, no one cared about their conversation anymore, because after Dumbledore finished kissing their hands, there was a brief delay.

The exquisite and enormous carriage was once again pushed open from the inside.

This time, instead of a huge figure, a dozen or so students dressed similarly and of similar age stepped off the bus.

Interestingly, among these dozen or so students, girls made up the vast majority.

They all looked to be sixteen or seventeen years old, with bright white teeth and elegant demeanor.

Perhaps because they come from France, these girls from the land of perfume always create a fragrant breeze as they walk.

When the French lady met the English gentleman, Ron demonstrated the right reaction to everyone.

Her cheeks were slightly flushed, her hands seemed to have nowhere to go, and her gaze, though seemingly fixed straight ahead, was always shifting unintentionally.

Of course, this reaction wasn't unique to Ron; many fourteen or fifteen-year-old boys at Hogwarts reacted similarly.

……

Time slips away quietly.

As darkness fell, Hogwarts welcomed its last group of guests—Demstrang from Northern Europe.

Unlike Beauxbatons, Durmstrang's arrival ignited everyone's enthusiasm.

It's not just the cool entrance over the Black Lake, but more importantly, Durmstrang's team has a renowned Seeker: Viktor Krum.

If it weren't for Professor McGonagall's sharp gaze sweeping across the room, the area outside the castle would have turned into a mini autograph session. After all, wizards truly love Quidditch to the core.

Even so, Krum still managed to save face for Durmstrang.

As the principal, Kakarov also looked proud, raising his head slightly and looking around arrogantly.

……

"He seems a bit arrogant!"

In the Slytherin group, Draco pouted in dissatisfaction.

In fact, it wasn't just Draco; many of the snakes were somewhat dissatisfied.

Unlike the young wizards of other houses, Slytherin valued Quidditch more for the prestige it brought.

"Forget it! Do you want him to embarrass himself?" Ino replied casually.

Although he didn't care about these one-sided gains and losses, Karkarov's performance made him want to cheat.

It's likely that even if Ron chooses the Warrior, the opponent will still win the Goblet of Fire.

In a three-way battle for supremacy, nothing is more shameful than missing out on the championship; if anything, it's finishing at the bottom.

Ino was contemplating cheating, but he didn't notice the change in Draco's eyes.

Especially after hearing about making Karkarov look foolish, a mischievous interest gleamed in his eyes.

It seems that it really is because of the movie screen; after spending so much time with George and Fred, Draco's expression now looks exactly like a carbon copy of theirs.
