The Bard of Hogwarts

Chapter 52 An Encounter at the School Hospital

Chapter 52 An Encounter at the School Hospital

Everything has two sides.

When something happens, some people are happy, while others are destined to be disappointed.

Hogwarts Hospital.

Having received timely medical attention, Malfoy is now staring blankly at the ceiling, utterly bored.

There was nothing he could do; Malfoy was wrapped up like a dumpling, except for his eyes, nose, and mouth, which were not covered by bandages.

After all, according to Mrs. Pomfrey's diagnosis, her entire body was covered in frostbite, and she would need to stay quietly for at least one night to recover.

Lying in his hospital bed, Malfoy was also recalling what had happened. He had simply pushed open the door to his dormitory, and when he opened his eyes, he found himself inexplicably in the school hospital.

"What is Ino doing... he's really wasting time!"

At this moment, he was still thinking about Harry and Hagrid keeping dragons without permission.

……

The clock is ticking.

While a few people were excited all night, some people enjoyed a high-quality sleep.

In the early morning, Ino opened her eyes, sat up in bed, and stretched lazily.

After a night of deep sleep, he felt an unprecedented sense of relaxation and comfort.

"I need to go see Malfoy, but what should I bring..."

After confirming that he had no classes in the morning, Ino planned to visit the injured Malfoy.

Ultimately, the whole thing started because of him, while Malfoy was just an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire.

The problem was that he didn't know what to bring when he visited Malfoy. After all, bringing gifts when visiting a sick person was a tradition ingrained in his very being.

After searching the entire dormitory, Ino only found a bag of gold coins and a few berries that were already frostbitten and slightly rotten.

Berry is out of the question; that wouldn't be a gesture of comfort, that would be poisoning.

As for gold coins, that's even more pointless. Malfoy isn't Weasley. Giving him gold coins? It's like throwing a bucket of water into the ocean—completely meaningless.

"Never mind, let's send flowers!"

Looking at the empty suitcase, Ino couldn't help but sigh softly.

Thinking of this, he drew his wand, and five crystalline ice arrows slowly condensed in mid-air. Just as they were about to form, all the arrows seemed to be kneaded like clay, merging, stretching, and shaping...

One minute later.

Five ice-blue lilies suddenly appeared in my hand.

This is a new ability he developed after a thorough practice last night, extending his understanding of ice arrow magic: to change the shape of objects of the same size.

Similarly, he also discovered a key problem: with the frequent use of magic, his control over ice and snow was gradually improving.

Just as fish are naturally adapted to water, after a short transition, they can truly achieve the ability to respond to whatever they desire.

And these five lilies in front of us are the best proof.

Ultimately, however, this is a last resort.

Compared to his clumsy shapeshifting and the desolate Forbidden Forest in winter, this was the only way he could think of to obtain flowers.

At least... ice and snow exist for a much longer time in winter than polymorph exists.

……

Hogwarts Hospital.

Harry and Hermione paced back and forth in the hallway by the door, as if they were waiting for someone.

After a while.

Hermione seemed a little impatient. She first tossed her fluffy hair, then looked at Harry beside her and said in a strange tone:

"Harry, you must never follow his example! Knowing it was a dragon, you still went and teased it like a puppy; you deserved to get bitten!"

Harry nodded helplessly.

Just today, Ron woke him up early in the morning, saying that he wanted to share the joy with Hagrid and let Hagrid know about Malfoy's hospitalization as soon as possible.

As a result... he shared the joy, but Ron also successfully got himself into the school hospital.

Harry couldn't help but sigh at the thought of this absurd and dramatic outcome, ultimately because Ron had been too engrossed in his conversation.

Overjoyed, he mistook Norber's head for Yaya's and even reached out to pat him.

As expected, Ron was bitten squarely by the dragon, and his entire hand swelled to more than twice its normal size immediately. Fortunately, Hagrid intervened in time, otherwise Ron would have suffered far more than just a bite.

After a brief moment of thought, Harry thought of Malfoy, who was also in the university hospital, and sighed:

"I never thought Malfoy would have this day. I heard they were roommates. Slytherin is simply incomprehensible."

But Harry's casual remark annoyed Hermione, who was standing nearby.

"Don't say that. Ino must have had his reasons for disciplining Malfoy, that's for sure, I believe him!"

Hermione's righteous and eloquent answer successfully piqued Harry's curiosity.

"Ino? So you two know each other?"

"Yes, we met in London," Hermione answered without hesitation, then added as if to suggest:

"Oh right! We are very good friends."

"Okay!" Harry shrugged calmly. After all, it wasn't surprising that Hermione had friends from other houses, even though she was a Slytherin.

Time passed by, second by second.

Just as the two of them were getting a little impatient, footsteps came from the other side of the corridor.

This made Harry curiously turn around and look, because the corridor of the school hospital, much like the entrance to Filch's office, was almost deserted.

However, it was this curious turn of the head that made Harry's face freeze instantly, as if time had stood still on that moment.

On the other side, Hermione's eyes widened in surprise, and she quickly ran over.

At the end of the corridor.

Ino was also a little surprised, not expecting to run into Harry and Hermione here, but before he could think about it, he saw a brown-haired dumpling running over from afar.

"Are you alright? They said you attacked Malfoy, but I believe you! By the way, what are you doing here? Is there anything I can help you with?"

Seeing Hermione's concerned expression, he was somewhat moved and felt a sense of goodwill towards this former fortune-telling customer and library friend.

Although Hermione has a somewhat conflicted personality, just like Pansy's arrogance, and both have their flaws, their personalities are only directed at specific people, and they are always very polite to him.

Thinking of this, Ino immediately smiled and said:

"Don't worry, I'm fine! As for Malfoy, that was just an accident. My purpose in coming here was to visit Malfoy. And what about you?"

As he spoke, Ino glanced at Harry, who was not far away, and the latter gave him a strained smile.

Hermione, however, couldn't care less about all that. Upon hearing that it was an accident, she became overjoyed.

"I knew you wouldn't attack anyone. Harry and I were waiting for someone, and another friend of ours was also accidentally injured."

After letting go of her psychological burden, Hermione also noticed the lilies in Ino's hand. They were pale blue, crystal clear, and elegant, with crisp and delicate leaves that were hard not to like.

Perhaps women are naturally drawn to sparkly things; Hermione was captivated by the lilies at first glance and kept glancing at them unintentionally.

Such an obvious little movement naturally did not escape Ino's eyes, and she immediately said with some amusement:

"Do you like it? Here, Miss Granger, have one!"

After saying that, he casually pulled out a lily made of frozen ice and handed it to Hermione.
