Chapter 101 Bishop White Frost

Chapter 101 Bishop White Frost

Early morning, Hekou Town.

Several pioneering knights and ducal nobles who had come to resupply were walking among them.

"If I remember correctly, the Duke of Jianling didn't send a regular army to explore the area, did he?"

Looking at the patrol team in Hekou Town marching in unison, and feeling the powerful aura of these soldiers holding shields and spears, Simmons sighed.

Although the Viscount Hadric family runs a white steel business in the Duchy of Northern Frost and wields considerable influence.

However, being far from the front lines and without the need for war, the family's focus was on business rather than military training.

Simmons compared the two in his mind and was surprised to find that the imposing presence of his family's regular army could not compare to that of the patrol team in front of him.

Beside him was the Byrne Knight from Rhodes' alliance.

The knight of the kingdom laughed and said, "Of course not. This is a unit trained by the Knights of Rhodes themselves. A few months ago, these soldiers were just ordinary serfs."

To be honest, Byrne didn't really know anything about his comrade, nor did he know about the training of these shield and spear soldiers.

But it doesn't matter, because the two sides have a vested interest in each other due to trade in Hekou Town.

In front of the duchy's nobles, one should naturally praise one's own people to the fullest extent.

Byrne directly acknowledged Rhodes's ability to train troops.

Simmons exclaimed, "It seems the rumors are unreliable. This Rhodes Knight truly lives up to his reputation as a sword-wielding knight, inheriting the military prowess of that duke."

Duke Jianling rose to power through war, and his fame spread throughout the northern continent during the expansionist war thirty years ago. He is a renowned royal family with military achievements.

Considering Rhodes's background, Simmons could accept it.

Having witnessed it firsthand, I found the rumors I had heard from the kingdom quite amusing.

Despite his outstanding achievements as a second-generation scion, the Duke's son is rumored to be jokingly referred to as a gardener.

It seems the political struggles in the kingdom are far more intense than those in the duchy.

Simmons sighed inwardly.

Seeing the amazement in Simmons' eyes, Byrne, who was on the same side, couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction.

But then, the Knight of Carmen walked over from the opposite side, a smug smile on his face.

"Gentlemen, I've just received news that Knight Kelvin has once again defeated the White Frost Order's army and liberated the entire baronial territory!"

"As expected of a knight of honor among the twelve seats of the Round Table, true strength is the only way! Interested in joining us for a celebratory drink?"

Byrne and Simmons gave a perfunctory compliment and declined his invitation.

Knight Carmen didn't care.

The war to quell the rebellion has been going on for more than a month, and Kelvin's outstanding performance has earned him the recognition of many pioneer knights.

In contrast, this Rhodes Knight, though somewhat capable of training troops, was no longer of any interest to him.

If one's own strength is insufficient, one can never pose a threat to a truly powerful individual.

Sand Dune Fortress is located on flat ground five kilometers away from the city.

An old man stood still, silently gazing at the distant sand dunes.

The old man wore a gray-white robe, with a white fox fur shawl draped over his shoulders. In his withered hands he tightly gripped a scepter, the blue crystal at the top of which gleamed with a cold light.

Even more striking were the troops waiting behind him.

The barbarian soldiers, numbering over four thousand, had bloodshot eyes.

They stared menacingly at the distant city, constantly emitting low growls of hunger.

These are all soldiers of the White Frost Order.

And unlike those unarmed roving groups, they were equipped with sophisticated gear.

Surrounding the old man were hundreds of orcs, all clad in full armor and wielding massive double-bladed battle axes, their imposing presence terrifying.

An officer beside the old man looked towards Sand Dune Fortress and said with some concern:

"Archbishop, are we really going to attack the city? Those traitors from the North and the kingdom's outcasts have chosen to cooperate, and we are at a disadvantage in terms of troop numbers."

The officer's concerns were not unfounded.

Sand Dune Castle served as the operational center for suppressing the rebellion, and was garrisoned by Joyce, a nobleman of the duchy, and Kelvin, a pioneering knight.

After the two sides cooperated, along with the private armies of other nobles, the number of troops in the city exceeded six thousand.

Moreover, there are also many skilled knights from various knightly orders gathered here.

On paper, their strength far surpasses that of their White Frost Order.

The old man, Archbishop White Frost, said disdainfully:

"They're just a bunch of rabble. The fact that the White Frost Order's elite forces weren't deployed earlier probably gave them the wrong impression that the White Frost Order is easily defeated."

"Just wait, once they discover our arrival, they will come out of the city and charge us head-on."

After the archbishop finished speaking, he remained aloof and silent.

Sure enough, not long after, the gates of Sand Dune Fortress were opened.

A large group of soldiers surged out in a chaotic mass, crowding together in a dense, jumbled mass.

After the infantry left the city, the cavalry followed closely behind.

According to their respective noble affiliations, they were scattered into more than thirty cavalry units, ranging in size from dozens to hundreds of men.

Despite the chaos, the leading knights couldn't hide their excitement.

To their surprise, the biggest fish in the White Frost Order actually delivered itself to their doorstep, running outside Sand Dune Castle.

Almost before Joyce and Kelvin gave the order, the two sides inside the city were eager to leave and launch an attack.

Having easily defeated the White Frost Order before, the knights were full of confidence.

The cavalrymen overtook the infantry and immediately charged towards the enemy.

Upon seeing the charging knights, the archbishop sneered and raised his scepter high.

"Bloodline Berserk!"

A chill emanated from the crystal at the top of the scepter, transforming into a wide-ranging battlefield halo that enveloped the soldiers.

The soldiers surrounding the White Frost Order roared to the sky.

Faced with the charging cavalry, the fear in their eyes faded, and they charged head-on with a roar.

Even as comrades were repeatedly pierced by lances, their scalding blood splattering on their faces.

Faced with this horrifying scene, they were not afraid at all; on the contrary, they were even more excited.

He swung his scimitar and battle axe haphazardly, making a clanging sound against the cavalry's armor.

Even though they had no strategy whatsoever, these outer soldiers managed to stop the charging cavalry by relying on their fearless and frenzied attacks.

After their charge was thwarted, their warhorses were cut down.

The trapped enemy cavalrymen screamed in agony as they died under a hail of blades.

"Something's wrong with these enemies!" a knight cried out in alarm.

The lack of unified command erupted at this moment.

The various knightly orders were trapped in different parts of the enemy's territory. Although their combined strength far exceeded that of the enemy, they were unable to coordinate effectively and were entangled by the chaotic forces of the White Frost Order.

"Damn it, we have to take down that cult leader!" Joyce and Kelvin both realized the problem.

They looked toward the archbishop at the center of the White Frost Order, their eyes fixed on the scepter in his hand.

The two then led their knights in a change of direction, preparing to finish off the old man in one fell swoop.

"Stop them," the archbishop said calmly to the orc soldiers beside him.

Then he raised the scepter once more.

"The cold snap is the wrath of my lord, and now that wrath is concentrated in the scepter in my hand. Traitors of the Northern Frost, lowly subjects of the kingdom, feel the might of the Lord of Winter! Ha ha ha!"

An avatar appeared behind the archbishop, a huge silver-maned wolf roaring to the sky.

As fully armed Extreme Knights, Joyce and Kelvin are traversing enemy lines.

These orcs were powerful, but they were not taken seriously by them.

But suddenly a chill ran down their spines, and they quickly looked at the archbishop.

They noticed that the roar from the giant wolf's avatar had taken shape and could be unleashed at any moment.

"Impossible! How could it be so fast? Oh no, get out of here! Get out of here!" the two shouted in panic.

Normally, a bloodline artifact requires at least half an hour of charging before it can be used.

Aside from sieges, it's difficult to use on the main battlefield.

But what's the enemy like? They just unleash a powerful attack without any regard for rules!

At this point, the two men disregarded chivalry and turned tail with their men, fleeing for their lives.

However, the next second, a blast of cold air was spat out from the giant wolf's mouth and hit the two of them.

The steel armor shattered, and Joyce and Kelvin coughed up blood.

Their men quickly caught them, and the knights cleared a path for them as they made their difficult retreat.

The archbishop watched them leave with a cold eye, without giving chase.

Although the cold wave filled the scepter with energy, allowing him to skip external charging and release the skill directly.

However, its power is greatly reduced as a result.

More importantly, the Berserk Aura is about to expire, and his soldiers will be weakened for a period of time.

Having achieved his objective, the archbishop turned his gaze northward from Sand Dune Castle.
