Chapter 253, Section 038: Fragments of Time
The old man said slowly, "After all, I'm also curious about what people will be like thousands of years from now."
Thousands of years later, Luo Xi was stunned.
He exclaimed in surprise, "Could this really be the Sigmalama Dynasty? Have we really traveled back thousands of years?"
The old man smiled and said, "Is there any other explanation?"
Rosie shook her head, stating firmly, "Impossible. How could magic like time reversal possibly exist?"
The most basic time paradox cannot be explained. If he really went back to the past, then if he made any changes here, how would the subsequent history be accounted for?
The old man nodded and smiled, "Not bad, it seems your foundation in extraordinary knowledge is quite solid."
He paused for a moment, then continued to explain.
He raised his hand and gently swiped it in the air, and a picture of a world immediately appeared in the sky, with villages, towns, mountains and lakes. He then dragged both hands to enlarge the world and selected one of the towns, drawing a circle around it.
He said, "Like this, I used the power of magic to select a part of this world and circled it out separately."
As he spoke, he dragged the circle outwards, pulling all the scenery within it outwards. However, the original world remained unchanged, as if it had simply been copied from a portion of the original world.
The old man explained, "The objects inside this circle are the area I chose back then. I used magic to pull this world out of the local area and create an independent space."
Rosie frowned, her face filled with disbelief: "Copy a part of the world? You mean you copied this town? No way?"
Simulating a town is difficult for a wizard, but it's not impossible. However, simulation and replication are two completely different things.
As I walked along and observed, the scenery here was absolutely real, and the people and creatures on the road were completely alive.
To perfectly replicate such a real substance would require an unimaginable amount of elemental energy; even the legendary gods of magic probably couldn't accomplish it.
The old man laughed and said, "If you want to replicate it from the world, that's of course impossible. I don't have that much mental strength, and my friend who helped me complete the magic probably can't do it either."
"But what if we extract it from a specific time period?"
Luo Xi was taken aback: "Intercept time?"
The old man nodded, then drew a line in the air again, and a river appeared in the sky, flowing continuously into the distance.
He said, "Time is like a river, and we are the fish and shrimp living in this river."
The old man then drew a circle in the river. The river continued to flow, but some fish and shrimp were trapped inside: "I cut a section of this river in half, so I don't have to use elemental energy to replicate the world one-to-one. I can just mirror this part of time."
"Time, which flows continuously, will never change. Even if I pull out this fragment of time, it will not change anything in the long river of the world."
As he spoke, he dragged the circle out of the river, instantly forming a small section of the river in the air. The original river did not change at all after a part of it was cut off; the fish and shrimp inside continued to swim, as if they were completely unaware of what had just happened.
Luo Xi was somewhat bewildered. Could it really be done like this?
This was the first time he had ever heard of or experienced such knowledge. The knowledge about time was extremely advanced, representing the pinnacle of the wizarding world, far beyond the reach and comprehension of a mere wizard like himself.
After thinking for a long time without much success, he could only say, "I'm sorry, this is probably beyond my understanding."
"That's normal."
The old man nodded: "After all, there are very few people in the entire Siglama who can comprehend such a level of knowledge. It requires strength. Only after reaching that level can one know the rules regarding time."
He paused, then explained simply: "You just need to understand that what you are in now is not a complete world, but only a part of the original world's time, a fragment of time. Everything you see now, the scenery, people, and living beings, including me, are just a part of this fragment."
Luo Xi seemed to understand something.
He said, "So, you are someone who captured a segment of time from the original world, which is why this place presents the past, and the person I am talking to now is also the person from the past."
The old man nodded: "That's how it is."
Luo Xi opened his mouth, speechless with astonishment.
This explanation was just as shocking to him as the idea of time travel.
It took him quite a while to accept the message.
He then asked, puzzled, "Did you cast this spell? Who are you? And what was your purpose in casting this spell?"
The old man chuckled and said, "So many questions."
He paused for a moment, then gave a noble greeting: "Let's get to know each other first. My name is Felix Andor, and I am the bishop of the northwestern diocese of the Siglama Dynasty."
Rosie returned the greeting, saying, "Rosie Herat, it's a pleasure to meet you."
At this point, he seemed to have thought of something, and looked the old man up and down, his eyes widening: "Felix Sigrama's Undying Flame, Felix, the sixth of the ten great sages of the Eternal Church, and the one who bears the Undying Holy Mark?"
He had seen this name in books; it was a fairly famous figure in Sigurdsmarck, one of the top twenty apostles of the Eternal Church at that time.
Felix smiled with a hint of curiosity: "Oh? So my future self is that famous?"
老天
Rosie opened her mouth again, puzzled, and said, "Really? Isn't this site the property of Priestess Natalia? Even as a subordinate of High Priestess Shia, it shouldn't be possible for her to be involved with you, right?"
Felix's position in the Eternal Church was in no way inferior to that of High Priestess Sia.
Felix said, "Natalia? Heh, Natalia was the one who greeted you and showed you the way. I was indeed planning to recommend her to be Sia's subordinate. So, does that mean Sia's promotion to High Priest was successful?"
Listening to Felix's words, Rosie was a little speechless. So it turned out that the relationship was so complicated. If he hadn't been in this era, he really wouldn't have understood. He just didn't know why the clues to the ruins had completely disappeared. Had Felix been submerged in the long river of history?
As Rosie pondered, Felix's expression suddenly turned serious: "By the way, I just heard you mention the ruins. Can you tell me about the future?"
He asked, slightly nervously, "What does the future hold?"
