Chapter 52, Section 052: Arrival

Mirror Image Magic Card Book.

This is a peculiar magical artifact in the wizarding world. This artifact can connect with the user's soul and spirit, allowing a part of the user's soul and will to enter it and experience and see the stories recorded in the book.

It's somewhat similar to watching a movie on Earth, but the experience is much more realistic.

"Let's look at this one, The Witch and Her Seventeen Kingdom Knights." Rosie picked up a card that immediately piqued her interest.

Ni asked suspiciously, "What's this? Is it interesting?"

Luo Xi said, "I don't know, let's see."

"Okay."

The two adjusted their positions, with Rosie lying down on the bed and Nicole lying in his arms.

"Preparing diligently to view a Mirror Image Magic Card Book, time points +3 days."

Nicole then took out a hardcover book with blank pages. This was the Mirror Magic Card Book itself. After opening the cover, there was a square card slot on the title page.

She took the card that Rosie had just chosen and placed it in the card slot. Immediately, she saw a glint of light appear on the card, and the card quickly disintegrated and melted away as if turning into powder.

The disintegrating cards turned into scattered grains of sand that swirled upwards like a mini tornado, rushing towards Rosie and Nicole. In an instant, their gaze and thoughts were focused on those grains of sand.

Through these grains of sand, it's as if you're seeing another world.

The next second, Rosie and Nicole seemed to have truly entered another world, transforming into two transparent ghosts floating above a lush forest.

"Clatter, clatter! Clatter, clatter!" The hurried sound of horses' hooves rang out.

A troop of brightly dressed, cursing cavalrymen sped through the forest, heading towards a castle that stood tall in the distance.

The souls of Luo Xi and the other man also uncontrollably followed the cavalry.

The story then unfolds.

The King Returns cruise ship traveled westward, passing through station after station.

Many of the sites are quite unusual; some are simply large rocks, while others might be an old lighthouse or even a stranded shipwreck.

The shipwreck left a deep impression on Rosie because it was so huge, seemingly thousands of meters long and as tall as a dozen stories. It could no longer be called a ship; it was more like a sea fortress.

It is said that this is a wizard warship left over from the time of Siglamar. Judging from the style, it does look like that. At that time, this powerful civilization had mastered a high level of alchemy skills and created many powerful wizard tools to conquer and seize resources. This wizard warship should have been used to conquer the ocean world.

Thousands of years have passed, and this battered metal monster has long lost its former majesty. Wizards and some sea creatures have instead settled here and started doing business, forming a sizable market.

The train stopped here for more than half an hour, but since Rosie was unfamiliar with the area and worried about accidents, she didn't go down to explore with Nicole. Instead, she bought a few local specialties when some frogman vendors came to her window to sell things, including a kind of flatbread made from small fish, shrimp and starch.

Although this world is dominated by wizards, there are other intelligent beings as well, such as humans, dwarves, elves, orcs, sea creatures, and so on. Each race has developed its own unique and diverse civilization.

These civilizations may have little contact with each other and existed independently due to factors such as geographical distance and different physiological mechanisms, but they were mostly connected by shamans.

For example, the Kingdom Returns, which Rosie and her companions were on, had many passengers of different races: dwarves going to work in the Grayridge Mountains, minotaurs hired by wizards to carry mines, merfolk hitchhiking home, and even humans who accidentally wandered into the wizarding world and stayed there because of their adventures.

These species live in habitats thousands of miles apart, and each exists almost exclusively in the legends and stories of its own civilization. Yet, on this train, they can sit at the same table and eat together.

It has to be said that this is indeed a magical scene, but it is also one of the charms of the Wizarding World.

This world is above all things, and at the same time encompasses all things.

After more than twenty days of sailing westward, the Kingdom Returns finally arrived at Shell Beach, their destination.

This is a beach made up of countless small seashells. At its widest point, it is only about 20 or 30 meters wide, but it is one or two thousand meters long. It is crescent-shaped, like a runway, and stands alone on the sea.

The wizards' reach ends here. To reach the human world, they will have to find their own way. The Visona Islands are a region rarely visited by wizards, so there are no fixed means of transportation.

Those with magical tools or great strength can return easily, while those without either will need to use their wits.

Based on prior research, after getting out of the car, Rosie pulled Nicole southwards. There was a shallow beach hidden on the seabed, the deepest part of which was only ankle-deep.

After walking south along the beach for about ten minutes, a lush island appeared before Luo Xi and his companion.

This area is part of the outer part of the Visona Islands, dotted with dozens or even hundreds of islands of varying sizes, all connected together. These islands are inhabited by indigenous people whose small boats can easily navigate between the swamps and vines.

I won't go into details about how the shaman came into contact with the natives, but the shaman occasionally had some contact with these natives who lived in the border areas. Their high priests all regarded the shaman as a god, and after Roxi revealed his identity as a shaman, he easily obtained their help.

After two days of traveling between islands resembling tropical rainforests in small boats, Rosie and her companions finally landed at Marua Port in northern Brittany, the largest island in the Visona archipelago, on the morning of the third day.

"We've finally arrived!"

Standing on his hometown soil, Luo Xi looked around at the scenery. People came and went on the road, and the language and clothing of the pedestrians matched his long-forgotten memories. An inexplicable feeling of returning home naturally spread in Luo Xi's heart.

"Waaaaah!" The indigenous people, who couldn't understand the language, gestured wildly at Roxi. Although they couldn't understand what he was saying, they could roughly understand that he meant goodbye.

Rosie nodded in thanks and handed him two magic stones. Wizards believe in equal exchange, and taking something for free is looked down upon.

The natives quickly rowed away in their small boat. Watching them leave, Nicole said, "These savages are quite cute."

Luo Xi said, "That's only because of our special status. If it were an ordinary human, they would have a big pot full of human bones, and they would especially love a delicate young girl like you. They would wash you clean first, and then cut you open and remove your internal organs."

"Stop, stop, stop!" Nicole quickly stopped Rosie, pinching the soft flesh on his arm and saying, "You're not comfortable unless you scare me, are you?"

"This isn't just a scare tactic."

Rosie wasn't entirely trying to scare Nicole. These natives living on the deserted island basically had a habit of cannibalism, as could be seen from the reactions of passersby when he arrived.

When they arrived in their small indigenous boat, almost everyone on the dock focused their attention on them, their eyes filled with tension and wariness. Some of the men carrying swords even instinctively placed their hands on the hilts of their swords.

The indigenous people left in a hurry because they didn't want to have any conflict with them.

"Hey? Look, that guy's here too." Just then, Nicole pointed in a direction.

Rosie turned her head and saw that it was their classmate Joshua.

We had a bit of an unpleasant incident at the train station last time, and although we've bumped into each other a few times on trains since then, we haven't had much of a conversation.

Nicole asked curiously, "Since no natives brought him here, how do you think he got here?"

Luo Xi said, "Who knows? Maybe it swam over."

Nicole laughed loudly: "Haha!"

The thought of a dignified wizard being forced to swim across in a sorry state because he couldn't find anyone to guide him is quite amusing.

Luo Xi said, "Alright, let's not worry about him. Let's figure out how to arrange our trip next. This is your territory, Miss Nicole."

Marua Port belongs to the Kingdom of Milan, which is Nicole's hometown.

Nicole puffed out her chest and said confidently, "A piece of cake."

"I have a cousin who married into this place; her husband is Earl Osset, the lord of Marua Port."

"Da da da!"

As the two were talking, a series of hurried footsteps suddenly sounded on the dock, and dozens of soldiers in full armor rushed over and quickly surrounded Luo Xi and his companion.

Immediately afterwards, a middle-aged man stepped forward, looking at Luo Xi and his companion with a scrutinizing gaze: "Strangers, state your identities."

He paused, glanced in the direction the natives had left, and questioned, "Also, explain your relationship with those savages as soon as possible, if you don't want to be locked up in the dungeon."

Rosie was about to explain when Nicole stepped forward first: "Are you...Knight Karl?"

The man looked at Nicole with suspicion: "Who are you?"

Nicole covered her mouth and laughed elegantly: "Hehehe."

After a burst of melodious, bell-like laughter, she said gracefully, "I'm Nicole."

The knight was taken aback, then his eyes widened: "Miss Nicole!"
