When Makino arrived at the Red-Haired Pirates' hideout, she was completely out of breath.

Magino, hands on his hips, took a deep breath and shouted at Shanks, who was on the ship with Beckman, in a voice that sounded like he was about to cry,

"Shanks—Luffy! Luffy's been captured by bandits! He's fighting them in the tavern!"

Shanks dropped the supply list from his hand to the ground, his face suddenly darkening.

"Call everyone."

Beckman looked into Shanks' eyes, paused for a second, then turned and jumped off the ship.

Moments later, all the core officers on the Red Fosse had assembled.

Raki Lu threw away the meat bone in his hand, Yasopp slung his sniper rifle over his shoulder, and Lyme Jones and Benk Punch put away their playful expressions and followed.

No one spoke, but the same flame burned in everyone's eyes.

Shanks walked at the front, his footsteps fast and heavy on the stone pavement.

The brim of the straw hat obscured his eyes, but judging from the curve of his chin peeking out from under the brim—

His expression now is completely different from when he was splashed with wine yesterday.

When Makino ran out of the tavern to deliver the news, Roy was watching the children practice boxing at the training ground in the back mountain with Kuina and Ace.

When Ace heard the news that Luffy had been captured by bandits, the expression on his face instantly changed from shock to rage.

Ace took off running down the mountain.

Roy raised his right hand and gently hooked his index finger.

The telekinetic power unfolded silently, and an invisible barrier stood in front of Ace.

When Ace crashed into it, he bounced back and landed on his backside. He was stunned for half a second before realizing that something was blocking his way.

"Brother Roy?!"

Ace turned and glared at Roy, his eyes full of incomprehension.

"Luffy's been captured! I'm going to rescue him!!"

"What could you possibly do if you rushed over there now?"

Roy's voice was calm, almost indifferent.

He didn't look at Ace; his gaze was fixed on the direction of the tavern at the foot of the mountain. His Observation Haki had already relayed the situation there to him in detail.

Luffy was trampled on the ground, Shanks was on his way, and Higuma hadn't even drawn his sword yet.

"I can fight!"

Ace got up from the ground, his fists clenched, his muscles tense like a bowstring about to snap.

"Luffy is my younger brother!!"

"I know he's your brother."

Roy finally turned to look at him, his eyes holding no disdain, only a certainty that compelled everyone to quiet down.

"But the first lesson you need to learn is—"

Sometimes, being at the forefront isn't necessarily the best choice.

Luffy will be alright.

Kuina stood to the side, her hand already on the hilt of the wooden sword at her waist.

Her fingers were clenched tightly, and her knuckles were slightly white.

She wanted to rush down too.

Although she only knew Luffy for a day, and although that rubber brat was noisy, disruptive, and unserious, he still called her "older sister"!

"Mr. Roy."

Guina's voice was soft, but every word carried a suppressed impulse.

"If Shanks and the others don't get there—if that bandit really attacks Luffy..."

"Watch."

Roy's answer was only two words.

Roy turned his head and looked back towards the port below the mountain.

The faint smile at the corner of her mouth still lingered, but the meaning within that smile had changed—

It's not about playing around or watching a show, but about witnessing.

He was witnessing one of the most important beginnings on this vast sea.

Kuina did not retract her hand holding the knife, but she obeyed Roy's words and stayed where she was.

She looked down at the stone path leading to the tavern, and at the figures of the Red-Haired Pirates.

Like a red arrow, I sped through the village toward the tavern, my heart pounding faster than ever.

The sea breeze blew in from the direction of the harbor, carrying a salty, damp smell and the faint sounds of battle cries.

The battle has begun.

When Shanks arrived, Higuma's foot was still on Luffy's back.

Luffy's face was pressed to the ground, and the corner of his mouth was scraped, but his eyes were still fixed on Higuma, and the anger in his eyes had not diminished at all.

He was still struggling, bouncing his rubber arms on the ground in an attempt to prop himself up.

Sig saw a red-haired man leading a group of pirates appear at the tavern entrance, and a smile returned to his lips.

"Oh, so the cowards are back?"

He released his foot from Luffy, turned to face Shanks, and placed his right hand back on the hilt of his sword.

"What's wrong? Wasn't yesterday's bottle strong enough? Want another one today?"

Shanks didn't look at him.

His gaze passed over Sig and landed on Luffy, who was struggling to get up from the ground.

Luffy's face was covered in ash, his lips were chapped, and his red vest was covered in footprints, but his eyes lit up the moment he saw Shanks.

"Shanks—!!"

"Luffy".

Shanks' voice was steady, a steadyness that contrasted sharply with the tense atmosphere in the tavern.

Are you alright?

"I'm fine! These bastards called you a coward! I..."

"I see."

Shanks interrupted him, then finally turned his gaze to Sieg with a calm expression.

"You poured drinks on my head, smashed my bottles, and chopped at my friend's bar—these are all minor things."

Shanks took a step forward.

It was just one step, but the sound of that step landing made the air in the entire tavern tremble.

"But, whatever the reason—"

Shanks' voice wasn't loud, but it carried clearly to the ears of everyone present.

I will not let anyone who bullies my friends get away with it.

Sig's lips twitched.

The bandits behind him, who had been so arrogant just moments before,

At this moment, they all felt something indescribable emanating from the red-haired man, something that made their fingers tremble involuntarily.

"Bullshit!"

A bandit drew a pistol from his waist, the dark muzzle pointing directly at Shanks' head.

His hand holding the gun trembled like a leaf, but he still pulled the trigger.

"Bang—!"

A shot rang out.

But the bandit who fired the shot fell down even faster than the sound of the gunshot.

Lucky Roux appeared instantly beside Shanks, chewing on a chicken leg. The crunching sound of him chewing bones almost overlapped with the thud of the bandits falling to the ground.

No one saw how he appeared next to Shanks, nor did anyone see how he made his move.

The smile on Sieg's face finally froze completely.

"Get them! Kill them all!"

Sig drew his long sword from his waist and roared at his men behind him.

A dozen or so bandits drew their weapons and pounced on Shanks—but they couldn’t even get within five steps of him.

Beckman walked forward, a cigarette dangling from his lips, and casually raised his right hand to draw a pistol from his waist.

"Bang bang bang..."

Less than ten seconds.

The dozen or so bandits who had charged at Shanks all collapsed to the ground, some screaming in agony.

Some people had already fainted, and others didn't even know how they fell to the ground.
