Chapter 137 [Buddha Becomes Demon, Demon Becomes Buddha] (Please Subscribe)

The relationship between Tongtian Jiaozhu and Lingbao Tianzun is similar to that between Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao. The Heavenly Dao is Hongjun, but Hongjun is not the Heavenly Dao.

Similarly, the Tongtian Sect Leader is the Lingbao Heavenly Venerable, but the Lingbao Heavenly Venerable is not the Tongtian Sect Leader. Only the Lingbao Heavenly Venerable during the final tribulation is the true Lingbao Heavenly Venerable. The Lingbao Heavenly Venerables in other timelines, even if they are the Tongtian Sect Leader, are merely reflections of the Lingbao Heavenly Venerable's Great Dao!

Kong Xuan nodded as if he understood, and was about to take his leave when he saw "Xuan Yin" step into Biyou Palace without the slightest bit of guilt.

"Five-Colored Divine Light!"

Without the slightest hesitation, he sent a message directly to "Xuan Yin": "Fellow Daoist, didn't you want to know if I'm a male or female peacock? Then today, I'll personally display my feathers for you to see!"

"Holy crap!"

Mi Tian's face immediately showed a look of horror: "You've mistaken me for someone else! I'm not Xuan Yin!"

Just as Mitian was about to be enveloped by the five-colored divine light, the Tongtian Sect Master made his move, and an indescribable power directly froze time and space.

"He is definitely not Xuan Yin!"

The Tongtian Sect Leader explained, "He is a protector of my Jie Sect, the Six-Eared Macaque, whose Daoist name is Mitian. He is only temporarily assuming Xuan Yin's identity!"

"Yes! Yes! Yes!"

Although Mi Tian was still shaken, he quickly said, "I'm really not Xuan Yin! If that guy hadn't given me a top-grade acquired spiritual treasure and made me impersonate him to cover up his secrets, I wouldn't be stuck on Jin'ao Island looking like this!"

He never expected that on Jin'ao Island, in Biyou Palace, and in front of the Tongtian Sect Leader, impersonating Xuan Yin would carry the risk of being beaten by a Da Luo.

"Feel sorry!"

Kong Xuan quickly apologized to Mi Tian.

In fact, he did not expect that Xuan Yin would be so cunning that he would need to find a Taiyi on Jin'ao Island to cover up the secrets of heaven for him!

He turned and bowed to the Tongtian Sect Leader, saying, "May I ask, Master, where is Senior Brother Xuan Yin's cave dwelling? Since I joined the Jie Sect under Senior Brother Xuan Yin's guidance, why not become his neighbor?"

"Right below Purple Ganoderma Cliff!"

The Grand Master of Heaven smiled slightly: "However, he shouldn't be back anytime soon! Be careful during the duel!"

Upon hearing this, Kong Xuan bowed again, left Biyou Palace, and flew towards Zizhi Cliff.

"Kong Xuan?"

Mi Tian looked at Tongtian Jiaozhu with curiosity: "Jiaozhu, when did you recruit this formidable figure into the Jie Sect? Judging from his appearance, it seems he intends to cause trouble for Fellow Daoist Xuan Yin!"

"It's alright!"

The Master of the Heavens waved his hand and laughed, "Who told that guy to be so foul-mouthed? In the Undying Volcano, he asked Kong Xuan if he was a male or female peacock... Even if he got beaten up, he deserved it, as long as he wasn't killed!"

Although Xuan Yin gave him a "surprise", he felt that if he didn't find someone to keep him in check, he would probably go further and further down the path of courting death!

Letting Xuan Yin suffer a little loss occasionally is actually a good thing!

Mi Tian didn't understand, but was greatly shocked: "You disciples of the Jie Sect really know how to play!"

"However, since you've made me take the blame, I'll have to get something in return next time!"

……

Underworld.

After meeting Zhao Gongming at Taozhi Mountain, Xuan Yin went to Bazhong Mountain.

He was very curious about how Kinnara and Ksitigarbha, two beings who had a profound influence on Buddhism, would deal with the current trend of the Heavenly Way.

"Fellow Daoist Kinnara, Fellow Daoist Ksitigarbha, are you there? I am a descendant of the Jie Sect, and I have taken the liberty of visiting you!"

Before they arrived, their voices preceded them. Even before they stepped into Mount Baizhong, Kinnara and his companion, who were meditating on Buddhism and Taoism, had already heard Xuan Yin's voice.

Both of them were completely baffled!

They were all very curious as to why Xuan Yin, a disciple of the Jie Sect, would suddenly come to them.

"Greetings, fellow Daoist!"

The two immediately revealed themselves.

Xuan Yin nodded slightly and went straight to the point: "Greetings to both of you fellow Daoists. May I ask your views on the current situation?"

Ksitigarbha shook his head: "If I had known, I wouldn't be hiding from karma here!"

Behind him was another Di Ting, but this Di Ting seemed extremely shy and did not utter a single word from beginning to end.

Seeing that Xuan Yin's gaze had fallen on his Di Ting, Ksitigarbha quickly explained, "Because Di Ting cannot control his innate supernatural powers, he always hears things he shouldn't hear, causing unnecessary karma. This humble monk is teaching him to practice the meditation of silence, so please forgive my presumption, fellow Daoist!"

"It's alright!"

Xuan Yin made no attempt to conceal his intentions, summoning Di Ting from the spirit realm: "Thanks to the grace of Goddess Nuwa, I also have a Di Ting by my side. Let these two of our kind have a chat!"

"I wonder if you two fellow Daoists would be willing to discuss the Dao with me here?"

He gave Di Ting a look and walked towards Di Zang and Di Ting. Di Ting looked at Di Zang behind him and smiled.

Ksitigarbha and his companion would naturally not refuse.

Xuan Yin expounded on the profound methods of the Jie Sect, his words also containing a few hints of demonic truth.

With a Mani jewel atop his head and a staff in his hand, Ksitigarbha embodies the profound mysteries of Buddhism. As a disciple of a sage, his understanding of Buddhism is extremely deep.

The same applies to Kinnara.

His understanding of Buddhist and Taoist teachings is no less than that of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. However, for some reason, when explaining the mysteries of Buddhism, he always seems somewhat absent-minded, as if his mind is clouded by dust.

On the contrary, upon hearing the hint of demonic essence mixed in with Xuan Yin's explanation of the Jie Sect's wondrous methods, an excited expression appeared on his face.

"As expected of the Buddha Wutian, his demonic roots are deeply ingrained; he actually dares to question the Great Dao of a sage!"

Xuan Yin took everything in view. After obtaining the Twelfth Grade World-Destroying Black Lotus, he gained a remarkable understanding of both demonic and Buddhist mysteries.

The difference between Buddha and demon is but a thought!

As the saying goes, a Buddha can become a demon, and a demon can become a Buddha; the transformation between Buddha and demon is just a matter of a single thought.

Many of the great Buddhist masters in the Lonely Garden had entered the demonic path. For example, Ananda once transformed into a demon Buddha at a certain point in time.

There's no need to elaborate on Kinnara before us. In the time of Buddha, he was Kinnara Bodhisattva; in the time of Mara, he was the infamous second-generation Rahu!

Even Cihang of the Chan Sect, the future Guanyin, transformed into the murderous Guanyin in one of her lifetimes!

Looking at the two people before him, Xuan Yin couldn't help but sigh, "Without madness, there is no life; without madness, one can hardly attain the Buddha's true enlightenment!"

Kinnara's expression immediately changed.

Although Ksitigarbha appeared calm, the prayer beads in his hand betrayed his true feelings.

The rosary in Ksitigarbha's hand has a total of 108 beads, representing 108 kinds of afflictions. Buddhist monks turn the rosary when chanting sutras to help them concentrate their minds.

If the prayer beads in a monk's hand stop spinning, or the frequency of their spinning becomes unstable, it means that the monk's state of mind has changed!

"Fellow Daoist, be careful with your words!"

Ksitigarbha quickly retorted, "How can the teachings of Buddhism be confused with those of demonic forces?"

Xuan Yin laughed and said, "The difference between Buddha and demon is just a thought away, so why do you deny it, fellow Daoist? Isn't this what your two sages from the Western Sect said?"

"Jin Chanzi must endure eighty-one tribulations to become a Buddha, but if one first becomes a demon, one can instantly become a Buddha simply by laying down the butcher's knife!"

"Which one is simpler and obvious? Don't you two think it's easier to infiltrate the Great Thunderclap Temple than to inherit the position?"

As he spoke, Xuan Yin's gaze fell unabashedly on Kinnara: "On this point, Buddha Wutian should have a lot to say!"

"In those past twenty reincarnations, Maitreya spent nearly a thousand eons to ascend from the Future Buddha to the leader of Buddhism!"

"And Fellow Daoist Kinnara, leading his demonic army, directly attacked the Western Paradise, forcing even the Buddhas of the past and present to choose Nirvana!"

"Doesn't that say it all?"

Xuan Yin looked at the two of them and said seductively, "Fellow Daoists, since you have already begun to question Buddhism, why don't you dare to face your own hearts?"

"My two fellow practitioners, haven't you ever considered opening up another path of Buddhism that truly delivers all sentient beings from Mahayana and Hinayana Buddhism?"

Yes!

That was his real purpose in coming here.

As a studious person, he considered the Western Two Sages' predestined great method and the art of undermining others to be comparable to the three great supernatural powers of the Jade Void Palace.

I absolutely must learn!

He had already begun to grasp the basics of the Jade Void Palace's techniques of summoning people, ganging up, and calling parents. How could he possibly miss the opportunity to test the Western Two Sages' techniques of predestined affinity and undermining their members?

Since the two Western Saints could undermine the Chan and Jie sects, why couldn't he do the same to the two Western Saints?

Kong Xuan was just the beginning!

Ksitigarbha and Kinnara also possess immense potential and are quasi-saints.

How could we possibly miss it?

Of course, he wouldn't openly poach them; instead, he would try to sow discord between them, causing them to question the original tenets of Buddhism.

If Laozi of Taiqing could convert barbarians to Buddhism and divide the fortunes of Buddhism, couldn't he also instigate Ksitigarbha and Kinnara to establish their own lineages separately?

The reason why the conversion of barbarians to Buddhism was successful was because Taiqing Laozi saw the difference in the philosophies of Jieyin Daoren and Zhunti Daoren.

Now, Ksitigarbha and Kinnara's questioning of Buddhism has given Xuan Yin an opportunity to take advantage of the situation.

Ksitigarbha and Kinnara, like Xuandu, are all of childlike innocence, not vying for power or profit, making them outliers within the Buddhist system.

However, precisely because of this, once their worldview collapses and they begin to doubt the Buddhist doctrines, two more great demons will appear in the Primordial True World.

The purer and more steadfast their beliefs, the greater the impact on their Dao heart when those beliefs crumble.

Ksitigarbha remained silent for a moment, then slowly spoke: "Although Buddhism has its shortcomings, its original intention to guide people towards goodness is genuine!"

"How can this be confused with the demonic path?"

Even though he saw some of the unsavory aspects of Buddhism in those twenty eras, it did not change his yearning for Buddhism!

In fact, during this era, he did not make any grand vows; he simply wanted to promote change within Buddhism by participating in Buddhist affairs.

He recommended Kinnara to become the Western Demon Emperor in order to avoid tragedy and give Kinnara a chance to change his fate of abandoning Buddhism and becoming a demon!

However, he hasn't figured out how to change Buddhism as it is now!

Furthermore, his current strength is insufficient to change the minds of his fellow disciples, let alone the minds of the two sages!

Ksitigarbha sighed and looked at Xuan Yin, saying, "Fellow Daoist is a person of great wisdom! I wonder if you have a method to bring great prosperity to the West?"

"The great prosperity I'm referring to is the West's own efforts, not forcibly converting beings in the East, nor is it the predestined great Dharma of Uncle-Master Zhunti!"

Upon hearing this, Xuan Yin fell silent. The western land veins were incomplete, and without the help of the creatures of the east, it would be difficult for a great prosperity to emerge!

However, nothing is absolute!

There's no proper way, but he does have an unorthodox one, which might require those two Western saints to make a sacrifice.

Thinking of this, he immediately said, "I don't have a good idea, but I do have a bad one... I just don't know if you two fellow Daoists would like to hear it?"

"Speak freely!"

Ksitigarbha immediately revealed a smile.

Upon hearing this, Xuan Yin immediately concealed the secrets of heaven to prevent the sages from prying into them: "As far as I know, innate deities can freely change their gender! And the stronger the cultivation and the higher the realm of a being, the more powerful the talent of their offspring, such as the ten golden crows born from Di Jun and Xi He! If nothing unexpected happens, the demon race will be able to produce ten more quasi-sage powerhouses in the future!"

"But how can Di Jun and Xi He compare to the two sages of the West?"

"If the Sage Cundi were to transform into the Cundi Buddha Mother and have a celestial marriage with the Sage Amitabha, perhaps they could give birth to a child destined for Western destiny!"

"What do you think, fellow Daoist?"
