Chapter 110 Battle with the Shadow Man
After thoroughly searching the interior of the bank, Lynn used a heat ray to kill a rhinoceros-man who had ambushed him, and then discovered a pile of papers on the table.
After glancing at a piece of paper, Lynn determined that it was a formula for some kind of chemical agent.
If nothing unexpected happens, this should be part of a new drug formula.
With that in mind, Lynn put away the formulas, intending to take them back for analysis on Friday.
After doing all this, Lynn teleported away from the factory and arrived next to Peter Parker.
Watch as Peter dodges the rhinoceros's attacks, while Lynn flies through the air, constantly releasing his heat vision.
As the thermal vision swept across the rhinoceros-men like a cutting machine, the ground was soon littered with their mangled corpses.
Retracting his heat vision, and seeing that only a few rhino-men remained and were preparing to escape, Lynn used his force field energy to control them.
"Just leave these few behind and find out where that mad scientist is hiding."
"What should we do here?"
Looking at the shattered and mangled remains of the Rhino Man on the ground, Peter Parker asked,
"Don't worry, someone will come and clean it up!"
After saying that, Lynn led the struggling rhinoceros-men back to the Illuminati base.
The next morning.
After breakfast, watching Peter vividly recount the previous night's battle to Tony Stark, Lynn asked, "Peter, did those rhinoceros-men turn back into normal people?"
In response to Lynn's question, Peter Parker shook his head: "Not yet. Unlike the other rhino-men, the ones we caught last night haven't turned back after being put into the cube."
"Moreover, through last night's battle, I discovered that these rhinoceros men are much stronger than the rhinoceros men I've captured in recent days."
"Not only that, the rhino-men from last night had red eyes, while the rhino-men I caught on the street all had normal-colored eyes!"
Upon hearing Peter's words, Lynn said, "It must be because they drank something different. Perhaps these Mexicans drank the latest invention of that mad scientist."
Just then, Lynn's phone rang.
Lynn picked up the phone and saw that it was Alice calling, so he walked aside and answered the call.
"Boss, you need to go back to the station. Mr. Cecily Michael, who recently returned from space, has something very important to discuss with you."
"And judging from his expression, things must be very serious!"
"knew!"
After hanging up the phone, Lynn said to Tony Stark, "Tony, I'm going back to the FBI headquarters now."
"I've already had the drug formula I found at the factory last night analyzed on Friday, and then..."
"no problem!"
Before Lynn could finish speaking, Tony Stark shrugged and said, "This is no challenge for the greatest genius of this century!"
Half an hour later, inside the FBI building in New York!
"You're finally back, Mr. Hall! You have to save me! My God, I can't believe this is happening! This is just...!"
The moment he saw Lynn return, Cecily Michael rushed forward in a panic.
"Calm down, Mr. Michael, what happened?"
Upon hearing Lynn's question, Cecily Michael swallowed hard: "Mr. Hall, do you remember how many astronauts went into space to carry out missions six months ago?"
In response to Cecilia Michael's question, Barbara, who was walking over with a cup of coffee, said, "There are three astronauts in total: you, Mr. Abel Willis, and Ms. Ariel Pansy."
Upon hearing Barbara's answer, Cecilia Michael took a deep breath, then said to Lynn in a trembling voice, "Mr. Hall, if I told you there were six astronauts in total, would you believe me?"
"The other three are Benjamin Connors, Robert Kenny, and Aaron Needham."
"Although I only remember Benjamin Connors, I only heard the other two names from Benjamin on the phone, and I didn't believe it at first."
"But this morning I discovered that Benjamin had disappeared, and nobody remembered him; even the media and newspapers had no mention of him!"
"etc!"
Upon hearing Cecily Michael say this, Lynn suddenly recalled yesterday's memories.
It seems that a man named Benjamin Connors came to the FBI in New York yesterday seeking his help!
This memory is very vague; it seems like it happened yesterday, or it seems like it happened in the very distant past.
He couldn't even remember what Benjamin Connors looked like.
But as Lynn closed his eyes and tried to recall, Benjamin Connors's panicked appearance gradually became clearer.
Seeing Lynn suddenly close his eyes and start thinking, Barbara was a little puzzled, but she didn't say anything to disturb him.
Even Cecilia Michael, who had been looking tense and anxious, quieted down.
"Barbara, pull up all the surveillance footage from yesterday, and also have Alice come over!"
Lynn opened his eyes in an instant, his expression becoming somewhat serious.
"Yes, boss!"
Seeing Lynn's very serious expression, Barbara immediately took action.
"Mr. Michael, is the Benjamin Connors you're talking about someone who's 1.82 meters tall, has thick lips, and a black mole under his eye?"
Upon hearing Lynn's words, Cecily immediately exclaimed excitedly, "That's right! That's right! My God, Mr. Hall, you actually remember Benjamin Connors?"
"This is unbelievable! Thank God, I've told everyone about this, but they don't believe me. I..."
Seeing Cecily Michael almost crying with excitement, Lynn comforted him for a few words, but his brows remained furrowed.
If Cecily Michael hadn't reminded him, he would have completely forgotten what happened yesterday.
This memory seems to have been concealed by some kind of energy or the power of some kind of rule.
Lynn was quite certain that no one had invaded his brain to erase this memory.
But the strange thing is, I just couldn't remember it!
This feeling is so strange!
Just as he was thinking, Barbara and Alice walked in at the same time.
"Boss, you called me?"
Looking at Lynn, Alice asked.
"Alice, do you remember what happened yesterday afternoon?"
In response to Lynn's question, Alice nodded and said, "Of course I remember. Yesterday afternoon, after you returned to New York from England, you had a cup of coffee in your office and said that there were Rhino people at the Illuminati that needed to be dealt with, and then you went straight to the Illuminati foundation."
Seeing that Alice didn't remember the Benjamin Connors incident from yesterday afternoon, Lynn asked Barbara to play the surveillance video from the station yesterday afternoon!
In the surveillance video, Alice was seen standing in the lobby yesterday, talking to herself. When she entered the elevator, she deliberately waited for a few seconds, as if to let someone she couldn't see enter.
In the corridor leading to Lynn's office, Alice comforted Air the entire time, and even pointed at Air and introduced him to Barbara when they met.
Seeing this, Alice frowned and said, "Boss, what's going on? I have absolutely no recollection of this."
Alice then looked at Barbara: "Barbara, do you remember her?"
When Alice asked, Barbara shook her head: "I don't remember it at all either."
The surveillance video continued to play, showing Alice leaving Lynn's office.
Open the door to the lounge and then gesture to the air for "him" to come in.
After entering the lounge, Alice sat in a chair, sometimes talking to herself and sometimes playing with her phone.
She didn't leave during the whole time, and when it was time for dinner, Alice had two more portions delivered, and one of them was placed opposite her.
Seeing that the dinner across the table hadn't been touched, Alice was still urging the other person to eat quickly.
Upon seeing the contents of the surveillance video, Alice immediately rubbed her arms: "Boss, this is too weird! I don't remember anything happening yesterday! God, I've got goosebumps."
Hearing the fear in Alice's voice, Lynn sped up the video playback.
At double speed, the video quickly progressed to the latter half of the night.
Just after midnight, Alice, who was sitting in a chair in the video, suddenly froze.
He got up and looked around, his expression full of confusion, as if he didn't understand why he was there.
Seeing this, Lynn said to Alice, "Do you remember this scene?"
In response to Lynn's question, Alice nodded: "Also, around midnight last night, I suddenly felt a surge of energy and then found myself inexplicably in the lounge."
"Although I felt something was wrong for a moment, my subconscious told me that it was because I hadn't been resting well lately, which is why I stayed at the station to rest."
Lynn nodded after hearing Alice's words.
"That's it, Mr. Hall, that's it!"
Looking at Lynn, Cecily Michael said with a look of horror, "Last night, around midnight, Benjamin called me crying and said he was about to disappear, and then told me I absolutely had to find you."
"And then this morning I discovered that Benjamin really has disappeared, and the whole world has forgotten him!"
As they were talking, Cecily Michael's expression suddenly changed, and his face turned deathly pale.
Meanwhile, Lynn's spider sense began to issue frantic warnings.
In an instant, Lynn focused his gaze on what was behind Cecily Michael, released a force field, and a utility knife flew up and stabbed towards Cecily Michael's back.
"Pfft..."
The sound of a knife piercing flesh and hitting bone rang out, and a series of blue blood dripped from the air. Seeing this, Alice immediately drew her pistol and aimed it at Cecily Michael's back, while Cecily was so frightened that he hid under the table.
As soon as the spider-sensing warning disappeared, the utility knife immediately fell to the ground.
"Alice, put the gun away. The enemy has disappeared. Also, take the utility knife to the lab and have the research department analyze the blue liquid on it!"
"yes!"
Upon hearing Lynn's words, Alice immediately nodded.
"Mr. Hall, you saw it too, someone really wanted me to disappear. It really came out from under the table," Cecily Michael immediately grabbed Lynn and kept begging for help.
"Now, tell me all about your experiences in space."
Looking at Cecilia Michael in front of him, Lynn's expression was very serious: "If you don't want to end up like Benjamin and the others, then don't hide anything!"
Hearing Lynn's solemn tone, Ceci hesitated for a moment before recounting everything they had encountered in the universe.
Inside the Illuminati base.
"This sounds absolutely ridiculous!"
Looking at Cecilia Michael, who was terrified in the lounge, Tony Stark shrugged and said, "Even if the aliens they encountered had the ability to make a person disappear, or even make the whole world forget them."
"But those aliens can't possibly erase all traces of their past lives, like images and photos!"
As he spoke, Tony Stark pulled up a video on Friday of an interview he gave six months ago before the astronauts launched into space.
Looking at the group of people in the video, Tony Stark continued, "Look, there's no Benjamin Connors or anything like that here. Even the group photo in the newspaper is just them!"
Hearing Tony say this, Steve chimed in, "Perhaps it's magic? Like Stephen Strange's magic!"
"After all, we've seen magicians, fought aliens, and even defeated a guy made of electricity."
"So even the most absurd things won't surprise me!"
"That's right, it's not surprising at all. After all, even someone frozen for nearly seventy years can be brought back to life!"
Listening to Tony's rant, Lynn looked at Cecilia Michael, who was trembling with fear in the lounge behind the transparent glass, and said, "Steve's words did give me a wake-up call."
"Perhaps it really is some kind of oblivion magic. We'll find out once we bring Strange here!"
As he spoke, Lynn took out his phone to call Stephen Strange.
Lynn remembered the kind of forgetting spell or magic that Strange used in the movie to make everyone in the world forget Spider-Man.
Just as they were about to dial Stephen Strange's number, a golden magical portal appeared in front of them, and then Strange walked out of the portal.
"Phew... I knew you guys needed help!"
Before Lynn could even speak, seeing Stephen Strange emerge from the portal, Tony Stark exclaimed, "Wow, that's really convenient magic! If you learned this kind of magic, wouldn't you be able to appear wherever you want?"
"What if some voyeur uses this magic to appear in someone's bedroom and want to watch a live stream?"
Before Tony Stark could finish speaking, Stephen Strange interjected, "This kind of arcane magic isn't something just anyone can learn, and Kamar-Taj is very strict about accepting apprentices!"
"For example, you're not qualified to learn magic!"
"Really? I don't think it's that strict, considering even you were admitted!"
Hearing the two of them greet each other as soon as they met, Steve, standing to the side, looked at Lynn and shrugged!
Seeing the two bickering as soon as they met, Lynn interrupted them, saying, "Now is not the time for you to argue."
"Strange, do you even know what's going on?"
"This is a very advanced form of black magic."
In response to Lynn's question, Stephen Strange said, "Legend has it that all black magic was created by the god of black magic, Hisos, and its opposite is the Vishanti."
"Although the god of black magic, Sisos, does not exist in the real dimension, countless races in the universe worship Sisos."
"Six months ago, this group of astronauts accidentally discovered a 'meteor' while on a mission in space, and even brought back fragments of this 'meteor' that had automatically disintegrated in space."
"But in fact, it was not a shooting star, but a sacred object of the planet Uttar."
"You must know that the Uttarians waged war after war in order to collect the shattered relics from three thousand years ago!"
As Strange was speaking, Thor, carrying Mjolnir, walked over: "What are you guys talking about? Uttar? I thought it was that legend."
Hearing Thor say this, Steve asked curiously, "You know about this planet too?"
"Of course, my mother was raised by witches, and she learned a lot from them."
I also got to know people from many other planets, including the Uttarians.
"When we were little, my mother always lied to us, saying that children who didn't go to sleep at night would be captured and eaten by the shadow people on Uttar."
At this point, Thor shrugged: "Uttar is located outside the Nine Realms. The people on this planet all possess magic, capable of transforming their bodies into something like shadows. My mother says it's invisibility magic, but it still has a physical form!"
"Speaking of which, I suddenly remembered that when Loki was a child, he was afraid of being captured and eaten by the Uttarians."
Then she ran to my room to sleep, and often...
Seeing that Thor was going off-topic, Lynn gestured for Strange to continue.
"The people of Uttar worship Sisos and study dark magic. Because these astronauts brought the fragments of the sacred artifact back to Earth, a group of shadow people from Uttar also came after them."
"Given the madness of those people on Uttar, anyone who has come into contact with the fragments of the sacred relic will be slaughtered. Lynn, the Benjamin you remember is just one of them!"
Hearing Strange say that, Lynn frowned, then walked to the side, picked up the phone, and dialed the number.
A few minutes later, seeing Lynn return, Steve asked, "How was it?"
In response to Steve's question, Lynn nodded: "I just called NASA, and they said the 'debris' Benjamin Sethi and his team brought back from space has disappeared, and they're looking for it in Washington."
Hearing Lynn say this, Tony Stark asked curiously, "Doesn't anyone at NASA study those things?"
"How could no one have studied it? It's just that they don't remember whether anyone has studied it or not. I think the researchers who studied this have probably disappeared!"
"So what should we do now?"
Looking at Strange, Steve frowned and asked, "Could those Utylians you mentioned pose a threat to Earth?"
"You don't need to worry about that. The Uttarians only want to take the fragments of the sacred artifact and anyone who came into contact with them. They have little interest in conquering other planets!"
At this point, Strange looked at Lynn seriously and said, "Lynn, anyone who has come into contact with the fragments of the relic will be marked by dark magic, and their soul will be stared at by Sithon."
"If we leave them on Earth, then Earth might attract the attention of Sithon!"
Upon hearing Strange's words, everyone present frowned.
Steve, standing nearby, chimed in, "So, according to you, we're just going to stand by and watch these astronauts get slaughtered by the shadow people of Uttar?"
"Strange, you're an arcane sorcerer, you should know how to break this!"
Faced with Steve's question, Strange hesitated for a few seconds before nodding: "Unless we can eliminate the residual aura of the sacred artifacts on them, only then can the Utylians stop hunting them down!"
"However, I can't do that right now; they need to be taken to the Vishanti Temple!"
"Then what are we waiting for?"
Looking at Strange, Tony Stark said, "Where is the Temple of Vishanti? I'll find a way to send him there right away!"
"I agree!"
Steve, standing nearby, nodded: "We absolutely cannot abandon any of our lives!"
Seeing Steve and Tony's resolute attitude, Lynn took out his phone and dialed: "Alice,
Bring the other three astronauts to the Illuminati!
Facing the Illuminati members who had already made their decision, Strange said, "Before that, we need to repel the next wave of Utylians!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Ceci, who was in the lounge, suddenly stood up in a daze.
Then, as if sensing something, he covered his head in terror and hid in a corner, while shouting things like "Don't kill him!"
Upon seeing this, everyone immediately rushed into the lounge.
Lynn, who had teleported into the room, immediately stood in front of Cecilia Michael.
The heat vision shot pierced straight through the chest of the Uttar alien in front of him.
Blue blood dripped continuously from the air, and Lynn, relying on his spider sense, immediately grabbed the shadowy figure rushing towards him from the other side.
"Kapim!"
Without hesitation, he snapped the neck of the Uttar alien, but his spider senses told Lynn that the room was filled with shadow figures.
"Damn it, we can't see them at all. They're magicians. How are we supposed to fight them?"
Tony Stark, who rushed in immediately after donning his armor, saw the empty room and blue blood everywhere Lynn's gaze swept across.
Jarvis was then instructed to perform a thermal imaging scan of the human body.
Jarvis scanned the area but found no enemies.
"It's useless. The Uttarians can use magic to transform into physical shadows; ordinary scanners can't detect them at all!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Stephen Strange immediately released the magic, and the magical light enveloped the entire room in the next second.
As the magical light blazed, the bodies of the Uttar aliens instantly appeared before everyone in the room.
Looking at the bizarrely ugly, blue-skinned Utyl aliens, Thor, hammer in hand, remarked, "These guys remind me of the frost giants of Jotunheim!"
Before anyone could make a move, one of the Uttarians raised his hand, signaling his companions behind him to stop!
