Chapter 176 The Club's Secret!
Chapter 176 The Club's Secret!
Lynn's heart skipped a beat; he knew he hadn't misread it! Jack was indeed connected to that mysterious organization! He quietly took out his phone and snapped a picture of the scene as evidence.
However, just as he was about to leave, he accidentally stepped on a loose floorboard, making a creaking sound. Everyone in the meeting room immediately became alert. Jack pushed open the door and saw Lynn standing outside.
"Lynn? What are you doing here?" Jack's face darkened, and his tone revealed a hint of displeasure.
Lynn's heart tightened, but he quickly calmed down and said with a forced smile, "Oh, it's nothing. I just happened to be passing by and heard some noise inside, so I came to check it out out of curiosity."
Jack looked at Lynn suspiciously, seemingly not believing his story. But he didn't say anything more, only giving a cold snort.
He then turned and went back to the conference room.
Lynn knew he had alerted the enemy. He had to tell Hans as soon as possible to discuss the next steps.
However, just as he was about to leave, he suddenly realized his phone was missing! A chill ran down his spine; he knew something terrible had happened. That phone contained the evidence he had just taken!
Lynn stood at the end of the corridor, his heart filled with mixed emotions. He thought he had been careful enough, yet he had still inadvertently alerted Jack. What worried him even more was that his phone, containing crucial evidence, was nowhere to be found. Just as he was filled with regret...
As he was about to return to his office to look for it, a familiar figure came into his view.
"Lynn, here's your phone." Jack walked over and handed him the phone, a barely perceptible smile on his face.
Lynn froze, taking the phone with a puzzled look in his eyes. He quickly unlocked it and checked its contents. To his surprise, the photos, videos, and even the one he had just secretly taken were all perfectly intact.
"You—you didn't read what was inside?" Lynn looked up at Jack and asked tentatively.
Jack shrugged, looking completely innocent. "Of course I didn't look. I'm not the kind of person who likes to pry into other people's privacy. I just saw your phone was on the ground, so I picked it up and gave it back to you."
Lynn pondered to himself. Jack's words seemed reasonable, but his intuition told him that things were far from simple. He decided to confront Jack directly and see how he would respond.
"Jack, I have a question for you." Lynn took a deep breath, staring intently into Jack's eyes. "What does that dinosaur tattoo on your shoulder mean?"
Upon hearing this, Jack's face showed a fleeting, almost imperceptible look of surprise, but he quickly regained his composure. He chuckled softly, seemingly somewhat taken aback by Lynn's question.
"Oh, that? It doesn't have any special meaning. It's just the logo of a soccer club I joined in college, called the Manhattan Dinosaurs," Jack said casually, as if it were nothing out of the ordinary.
"Manhattan Dinosaurs?" Lynn frowned. The name sounded unfamiliar, but he didn't show it. "Can you tell me more about this club?"
Jack shrugged, seemingly unwilling to elaborate: "There's not much to say, really. It's just a bunch of young people who love football getting together and giving themselves a cool name. That dinosaur logo, we designed it ourselves; we thought it was pretty cool."
Lynn nodded, feigning sudden understanding, but inwardly he was even more puzzled. He knew that things were rarely as simple as they seemed. Was this Manhattan Dinosaur Club truly just an ordinary football club? Or was it intricately connected to that mysterious organization?
"Jack, how long have you been in that club?" Lynn continued to probe.
Jack thought for a moment and replied, "It's been about four or five years, I can't remember the exact time. What, are you interested in this?"
Lynn shook his head and smiled, "It's nothing, just asking out of curiosity. You know, I'm quite interested in football too."
The two chatted for a few more minutes before returning to their respective offices. Lynn sat at his desk, his mind racing. He opened a search engine, trying to find information about the "Manhattan Dinosaur" club, but the results were disappointing. There was very little information about the club online, not even a single decent photo.
"It seems I'll have to go there myself." Lynn made up his mind; he decided to investigate this mysterious football club personally.
Let's see if it's related to that mysterious organization.

There was very little information about the club online, not even a single decent photo.

Let's see if it's related to that mysterious organization.
After get off work, Lynn didn't go straight home, but instead drove to the address of the football club Jack had mentioned. However, when he arrived, he found it was just a deserted vacant lot, overgrown with weeds, and not a soul in sight.
"What's going on here?" Lynn was filled with doubt. He looked around, trying to find some clues, but it seemed that no one had been here for a long time.
Just as he was about to leave, a strange voice suddenly rang out behind him: "Are you looking for the Manhattan Dinosaur Club?"
Lynn turned around abruptly and saw a burly, weathered middle-aged man standing in front of him, with a dinosaur head tattooed on his shoulder!
"Who—who are you?" Lynn looked at the man in front of her warily, her heart filled with vigilance.
The man smiled slightly, seemingly unconcerned by Lynn's wariness: "Don't be nervous, I'm a member of the Manhattan Dinosaur Club, and also the person in charge here. You can just call me Old Dinosaur."
"Old Dinosaur?" Lynn frowned. The name sounded strange. "Why are you here? Wasn't the club already...?"
The old dinosaur shook his head, interrupting Lynn: "The club hasn't disbanded; we've just encountered some trouble recently, so we've temporarily moved our activity location."
"Trouble?" Lynn keenly caught the word. "What kind of trouble?"
The old dinosaur sighed, his expression turning serious: "Actually, our club has always been watched by a mysterious organization. They want to swallow us up and use our resources and influence to expand their sphere of influence."
Lynn's heart skipped a beat; he knew he had finally found a clue! He asked eagerly, "Then do you know what this mysterious organization is all about?"
The old dinosaur shook his head: "I don't know the specifics of their situation, but I know they are very powerful and extremely ruthless. Several members of our club have already been assassinated by them."
Lynn took a deep breath, his heart filled with shock. He hadn't expected to be unwittingly drawn into such a complex conflict. But he also understood that once he embarked on this path, there was no turning back.
"Old Dinosaur," Lynn looked firmly into the old dinosaur's eyes, "I'm willing to help you fight this mysterious organization. However, I need more information and clues."
Upon hearing this, the old dinosaur's eyes flashed with surprise. He grasped Lynn's hand tightly and said gratefully, "Thank you, Lynn. With your help, we will definitely be able to defeat that mysterious organization!"
Night fell as darkness as the city's hustle and bustle gradually subsided, leaving only the faint glow of streetlights swaying in the cold wind. Lynn and Hans drove through the narrow alleyways, their destination the "Manhattan Dinosaurs" football club, hidden deep within a dilapidated industrial area. Filled with both curiosity and anticipation, their goal was to uncover the secrets behind this football club.
"Are you sure this is where we're going?" Hans asked Lynn suspiciously as he turned the steering wheel.
Lynn nodded, his eyes resolute: "This is the address the old dinosaur gave me. He said it's their new training base. And, I checked, this club's performance has improved by leaps and bounds since ten years ago, it's almost like they've been under a spell."
"Magic?" Hans chuckled. "You believe in that kind of thing?"
"I don't believe it." Lynn shook his head. "But I believe there must be some unknown reason behind this. Perhaps it's related to that mysterious organization."
The car stopped in front of an abandoned warehouse. The two men got out and looked around. The place looked extremely desolate, a far cry from the image of a football club. However, when they pushed open the warehouse door, they were surprised to find a completely different world inside.
The spacious area has been transformed into a modern training ground, brightly lit and equipped with all kinds of training facilities. On the field, several players are training hard, their movements agile and powerful, as if every action contains boundless strength.
"Welcome to Manhattan Dinosaurs." A familiar voice rang in their ears, and the old dinosaur had appeared behind them without them noticing.
"This place—" Lynn looked around, his eyes flashing with surprise, "is unbelievable."
The old dinosaur gave a wry smile: "We had no choice but to choose this secluded place in order to avoid being tracked by that mysterious organization."
However, this is good, at least I can concentrate on training.
Lynn and Hans exchanged a glance, their conviction growing stronger as they realized the club's connection to the mysterious organization. They decided to investigate further to see if they could find more clues.
As night fell, the streets of Manhattan shone brightly, bustling with activity. Inside a bar called "Dinosaur's Nest," Lynn and Hans, dressed as football fans, mingled among a group of enthusiastic soccer enthusiasts. Their sole objective was to get close to Saka, the star striker of the Manhattan Dinosaurs soccer club.
"I heard Saka will be here tonight to celebrate his victory. We need to seize the opportunity," Lynn said to Hans in a low voice, while his eyes scanned the surroundings warily.
Hans nodded, clutching a glass of beer tightly in his hand, though he barely took a sip. He was both nervous and excited; they had been preparing for this moment for far too long.
The atmosphere in the bar gradually heated up, and amidst cheers, Saka finally appeared. He was wearing a cool jersey with the Manhattan Dinosaurs' logo printed on it, and the slightly bulging muscles on his shoulders were particularly eye-catching under the lights.
"Saka! Saka!" The fans cheered and crowded around him as he walked toward the bar.
Lynn and Hans exchanged a glance and followed without a word. They squeezed next to Saka and began to chat enthusiastically.
"Saka, you played brilliantly today! That goal was a stroke of genius!" Lynn exclaimed, feigning excitement.
Saka smiled, a hint of smugness in his eyes: "Thanks for the compliment, brothers. I was in good form today, and had some luck too."
Hans seized the opportunity to interject, "Saka, we're your biggest fans. Could you tell us how you developed such amazing speed and strength? We'd like to learn from you."
Saka's smile stiffened slightly upon hearing this. He glanced at the two men warily, seemingly assessing their intentions. After a moment, he chuckled softly, "Brothers, this isn't something you can learn overnight. Besides, some things—are innate."
Lynn and Hans felt a chill run down their spines; they knew there was a deeper meaning behind Saka's words. But to avoid alerting him, they continued to feign admiration.
"Saka, you're our idol! Can you give us a chance to train with you? Even just for one day!" Lynn pleaded.
Saka thought for a moment, then finally nodded: "Alright, since you're all so enthusiastic, I'll make an exception this time. Come find me at the club tomorrow afternoon."
Lynn and Hans smiled at each other, knowing that the first step of the plan had been successful.
The next afternoon, the two arrived at the Manhattan Dinosaurs Soccer Club's training ground on time. Saka was already there waiting for them, accompanied by several teammates.
"Welcome to Dinosaur House," Saka greeted with a smile. "Today, I'll show you what real training is all about."
Over the next few hours, Lynn and Hans trained intensely with Saka and his teammates. Although they were also highly skilled, they paled in comparison to Saka. Saka's speed, strength, and reaction time were superhuman, as if his body were enhanced by some mysterious force.
After training, Saka invited the two to his private lounge to talk. Lynn and Hans knew this was a crucial moment for them to uncover the truth.
"Saka, we have a question for you." Lynn took a deep breath and decided to be direct. "Are you a mutant?"
Upon hearing this, Saka's expression changed drastically. He widened his eyes and stared intently at Lynn and Hans, as if trying to see through their thoughts.
"Why would you think that?" Saka's voice was low and wary.
Hans added, "We've noticed your performance in the games, as well as your speed and power in training. These are things that ordinary people can't do. And we've heard that there are some secrets hidden within the Manhattan Dinosaur Club."
