Chapter 200 Uncovers All Their Secrets

"Thank you, Lynn, that's so comforting." Gwen rolled her eyes, but the smile on her face didn't disappear.

The car quickly pulled into her school's parking lot. Lynn stopped the car and watched Gwen grab her backpack and sheet music and hurriedly get out. He rolled down the window and called out, "I'll stay here and wait for you."

Gwen turned and looked at him, somewhat surprised. "You're staying?"

"Yeah." Lynn leaned back in her chair and took out her phone. "I need some time to catch my breath too."

Gwen squinted at him for a few seconds, then smiled. "Fine, whatever. But don't run away; I need your feedback on my performance afterward."

"No problem." Lynn waved to her.

Gwen ran towards the school auditorium, while Lynn leaned back in the driver's seat, his eyes fixed on the scenery outside the window. His fingers tapped lightly on his phone screen as he dialed Hans's number.

The phone rang a few times before being answered. Hans's voice came from the other end, still sounding tired: "It's you again, Lynn. What new trouble this time?"

"It's not trouble," Lynn said calmly. "I just wanted to confirm if you have any new leads."

"No," Hans sighed. "I just had a fight with the guys at the lab. They still haven't figured out the source of the technology behind that mutant. However, they mentioned a possible supplier—a private research institute called 'Kronos Labs'."

"Kronos Labs?" Lynn repeated, his brows furrowing slightly.

"Yes. Their names often appear in certain government shady projects, but we don't yet have enough evidence to prove they are connected to the Holy Blood Alliance."

"Continue the investigation," Lynn said in a low voice. "I need to know exactly what the Holy Blood Alliance's relationship is with these people."

"Understood." Hans hung up the phone.

Lynn put away his phone and looked up towards the auditorium. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting dappled patterns on the ground, and students in their performance costumes came and went at the entrance. At that moment, he felt a rare sense of peace.

The school auditorium was filled with a tense yet excited atmosphere. Students were busy with their final rehearsals, the conductor stood below the stage waving his batons, and the band's music alternated between rapid and soothing. A group of parents sat in the back row whispering, waiting for the performance to begin. Lynn stood against the back wall of the auditorium, hands in her pockets, quietly watching Gwen in the front row. Gwen sat at the piano, her hands dancing lightly across the keys, her gaze focused, seemingly completely immersed in the world of music.

For Lynn, it was a brief respite. Although the image of the Holy Blood Clan still lingered in his mind, he tried to focus on Gwen's performance. The music slowly stopped, the conductor called out "Very good!" and then gave the band a five-minute break, which was followed by a burst of relaxed whispers and laughter in the auditorium.

Lynn's phone vibrated. He glanced down at it; it was a text message from Hans: "We've found some background information about Kronos Labs. We'll talk about it when you get back."

Just as he was about to reply, a sudden commotion erupted around him. Lynn looked up and saw a commotion at the front of the auditorium. A tall boy suddenly rushed to the center of the band, overturned two chairs, and roared like a wild beast. His eyes were bloodshot, his face was twitching, and his muscles were unusually tense. He grabbed a harp stand and smashed it hard against another student next to him.

"Kevin! Are you crazy?!" a girl screamed, dodging the attack. The boy who had been hit cried out in pain, clutching his shoulder as he fell to the ground. Lynn's gaze immediately turned cold and sharp. He quickly took a few steps from the wall and rushed through the crowd towards Kevin.

Meanwhile, the other students screamed and scattered in panic, creating chaos. Gwen stood up from the piano bench, her face filled with shock and confusion.

"Back off!" Lynn whispered, his tone carrying an undeniable command. His voice cut through the noisy crowd, and Gwen quickly pulled a few classmates back.

Kevin's actions grew increasingly violent. He grabbed another instrument stand and slammed it to the ground with a deafening metallic clang. Lynn wasted no time; he swiftly approached Kevin from the side, ducking to avoid the swinging metal stand, then decisively grabbed Kevin's wrist and twisted it forcefully. Kevin let out a painful roar.

The iron frame in his hand fell to the ground with a clatter.

"Enough, calm down!" Lynn tried his best to restrain Kevin's movements, but the other's strength was surprisingly great, almost unlike that of an ordinary high school student. His body twisted wildly, trying to break free from Lynn's control, the bloodshot in his eyes became more and more obvious, and he let out a low, incoherent roar.

"What are you doing?" Gwen called from behind, her face full of worry.

"Stay in the back, Gwen!" Lynn snapped, then quickly twisted Kevin's arm behind his back.

Use your knee to push his leg down and force him to the ground.

Kevin struggled on the floor, banging his head against the ground, veins bulging on his face, clearly having completely lost his mind. A trickle of white foam even escaped from the corner of his mouth, which immediately put Lynn on edge.

"This is not a normal berserk state."

Lynn muttered to himself. He used one hand to hold Kevin's body down tightly, while the other hand reached for the other's sleeve, quickly pulling it up to look for any possible clues.

On Kevin's arm, Lynn noticed some tiny needle marks, as if something had just been injected. The surrounding skin was slightly red and had an unusual swelling.

"Damn it," Lynn cursed inwardly. His first thought was that the boy might have taken some kind of drug, which was likely the reason he lost control.

Several teachers finally broke through the chaotic crowd, their faces filled with panic. "What happened? What's wrong with Kevin?" One of the teachers knelt down to check on Kevin, clearly still trying to bring him back to his senses.

"Don't come any closer!" Lynn warned in a low voice, his tone stern. "He's not in his right mind right now and could hurt anyone."

"But he's a child—" The teacher was clearly hesitant.

"He's a threat now." Lynn swept his sharp gaze over the teacher, his words carrying an undeniable authority. The teacher immediately shut his mouth and took a step back.

Kevin's struggles gradually weakened, seemingly as the effects of the medication wore off. His breathing became heavy and rapid, and finally, he collapsed limply onto the floor. But his eyes remained vacant, and his lips trembled slightly, as if he were still trying to say something.

Lynn turned Kevin over and gently patted his face. "Kevin, can you hear me? Who told you to take these things?"

Kevin's eyes opened slightly, his lips trembling as if he wanted to speak, but in the end he only managed to utter a single, indistinct word: "...they...the medicine...took...me—".

"Take them away?" Lynn frowned, leaning closer. "Who took you away? The Holy Blood Alliance?"

Kevin didn't answer. His body completely relaxed, as if he had passed out.

The chaos in the auditorium gradually subsided, but the students and teachers around still whispered with fearful expressions. Gwen ran to Lynn's side, her gaze sweeping between him and Kevin. "What's wrong with him? He's not usually like this!"

"He was injected with a drug." Lynn stood up, wiping the sweat from his forehead. "This drug temporarily enhanced his strength and ferocity, but it also made him lose control."

"Medicine?" Gwen's eyes widened. "How is that possible? Kevin is just an ordinary student..."

How could he—”

"That's exactly what I need to find out." Lynn interrupted her, his gaze cold. "Gwen, you and the other students leave here. Let the teachers handle the rest of the mess. I need to take him to the hospital and check the composition of the drugs in his system."

"The hospital?" Gwen wanted to say something more, but seeing the determination in Lynn's eyes, she finally nodded. "Okay. But be careful."

Lynn didn't answer. Instead, he called over a teacher and asked them to help stabilize the situation before dialing Hans's number.

"It's you again." Hans sounded like he was still chewing on something when the call connected. "Don't tell me you've run into some trouble this time."

“Yes, and it’s a big problem,” Lynn said quickly. “I just encountered a boy at Gwen’s school who suddenly went berserk. He had obvious injection marks on his body, and I suspect it’s related to the Holy Blood Alliance.”

"Injection marks?" Hans's tone immediately turned serious. "Are you sure?"

"I'm sure." Lynn said in a low voice as he quickly left the auditorium, "I'm going to take him to the hospital to find out exactly what's in his blood."

"I'll contact the lab and have them prepare." Hanston paused, then added, "Lynn,"

This doesn't sound like a random event. If the Holy Blood Alliance has already started targeting ordinary people, our situation could become much more complicated.

"I know." Lynn hung up the phone, a cold glint in his eyes. He glanced down at Kevin's pale face, a bad feeling creeping into his heart.

Lynn placed a small cooler containing a blood sample on a metal workbench in the FBI headquarters lab.

He glanced down at his watch; it was one in the morning. He had already spent far too much time investigating this case, but this time, he felt he was getting closer and closer to the truth.

"Is this the sample taken from that student?" Rosa, the lab director, stood opposite him, wearing gloves and goggles, her eyes showing a hint of doubt.

“That’s right,” Lynn said, his voice steady. “I suspect it’s related to mutants. His behavior, his strength, and the injection marks are all abnormal.”

Rosa raised an eyebrow. "Mutants? You think the Blood Brotherhood is using ordinary people for some kind of experiment?"

"That's exactly what I need to figure out," Lynn replied coldly. "First, a blood test to see if we can find any crucial clues."

Rosa nodded, asking no further questions, and turned to transfer the sample to the analytical instrument. An automated analyzer slowly started up, its robotic arm precisely extracting blood and beginning a series of complex chemical and genetic tests.

Lynn stood to the side, hands in his coat pockets, his eyes glued to the progress bar on the screen. His thoughts, however, were far from calm. If the Blood Brotherhood truly intended to inject mutant genes into ordinary people, it wouldn't just be a conspiracy against society, but a biological catastrophe.

A few minutes later, a series of complex data began to appear on the screen. Rosa frowned, her eyes fixed on the display. "This can't be—" she whispered, a hint of shock in her voice.

"What's impossible?" Lynn quickly moved closer, his gaze sweeping over the screen.

Rosa looked up, removed her goggles, and her face was filled with disbelief. "His blood contains some kind of—highly abnormal gene fragments. These fragments clearly don't belong to the normal human genome; they were artificially spliced in."

"Mutants?" Lynn asked, his voice as low as a muffled thunderclap.

“Yes,” Rosa nodded. “The characteristics of these gene fragments are highly similar to some of the ability genes we’ve seen in mutant cases. Especially these gene sequences,” she pointed to a portion of the data on the screen, “they were clearly extracted from a mutant with superhuman strength.”

Lynn's brow furrowed even more. "Extract mutant genes and then inject them into ordinary people—what the hell is this?"

Rosa pondered for a moment, then said, "This couldn't have been done in just any underground lab. It requires highly specialized bioengineering technology, and it seems they didn't just replicate genes, but rather enhanced them in some way, perhaps even accelerating the adaptation of the genes to the host. This explains the boy's sudden increase in strength and his emotional breakdown."

"They're making weapons," Lynn said in a low voice, his tone chilling.

“That’s right,” Rosa nodded, “but this kind of experiment is extremely risky. An ordinary person’s body cannot fully withstand the genetic side effects of mutants, which is why such violent and out-of-control situations can occur.”

Lynn raised his head, his gaze as cold as a knife. "The question is, why would the Holy Blood Alliance do this? What is their ultimate goal?"

"That's the scariest part," Rosa said. "If they find a more stable way to implant these gene fragments into ordinary people—can you imagine? They would create an army that ordinary people couldn't fight."

"And we might not even know where their lab is." Lynn gritted his teeth, his fists clenched tightly. Rosa glanced at him, then gently patted his shoulder. "I'll continue analyzing this data to see if we can trace the origin of the genes. Maybe we can find some clues."

"Hurry, I need to find their weakness as soon as possible," Lynn said, then turned and left the lab.

At two in the morning, Lynn sat in his office, his desk piled high with files on the Holy Blood Alliance cases. His phone lit up; it was Hans calling.

"Why are you still awake?" Hans's voice sounded tired, but still carried his usual languor. "Don't tell me you're still studying that boy's blood sample."

"Just came out of the lab." Lynn leaned back in his chair and rubbed his temples. "There are indeed traces of mutant genes in my blood, and they were artificially implanted."

Hans was silent for a moment on the other end of the phone, then muttered a curse under his breath, "Damn. How did the Holy Blood Alliance get their hands on mutant genes? This stuff isn't something ordinary people can just extract; someone must be supporting them behind the scenes."

"Rosa said this requires highly specialized technical support." Lynn nodded. "The Kronos Labs we mentioned earlier is very likely an accomplice behind this."

"You think it's them?" Hans asked.

"That's the most likely lead right now," Lynn replied. "They've been accused of illegal human experimentation in the past and have close ties to some military projects. If the Blood Alliance wants mutant genes..."

They might choose this clandestine channel.

"It sounds like a dead end," Hans sighed. "These labs have resources, covert funding, and military connections. It's going to be hard for us to find a breakthrough."

“But we have to try.” Lynn’s voice was low but firm. “The Holy Blood Alliance won’t wait for us to find them. They’ve already started, and Kevin is just the first victim. If we don’t track them down quickly, they’ll soon find their next target.”

Hans paused for a few seconds, then said, "I will continue to track the flow of funds at Kronos Labs."

See if you can find any clues. Be careful on your end too, don't let these bastards push you too far.

"You too." Lynn hung up the phone, tossed it onto the table, and took a deep breath. He stared at the messy documents on the table, his mind replaying the scene of Kevin losing control and the increasingly unsettling actions of the Holy Blood Alliance.

A few hours later, Rosa sent him a message asking him to return to the lab immediately.

Lynn practically ran into the lab, where Rosa was already waiting by the microscope, her eyes sparkling with excitement and nervousness.

"I've found something," she said, turning the screen to Lynn. "In these gene fragments, there's a very unique marker sequence, a marker typically used in scientific experiments to trace the origin of genes."

And I found its registration record—this is a unique mark of Kronos Labs.

"Damn it." Lynn cursed under his breath, tapping his fingers lightly on the table.

"This proves," Rosa continued, "that they not only have connections with the Holy Blood Alliance, but may actually be a direct technology provider for them. They are funding this horrific genetic experiment."

"That's enough." Lynn straightened up, his gaze as sharp as a knife. "We need to find the location of the Kronos Laboratory and uncover all their secrets."

Rosa looked at him and nodded. "Be careful, Lynn. If they really were involved in these experiments..."

They may be far more dangerous than you think.

Lynn didn't answer, he simply turned and left. He knew this clue might be their only breakthrough, their only chance to stop the Holy Blood Alliance's operation. He wouldn't let it slip away.
