Chapter 309 You are now just a monster!

Ichigo was startled and turned to look at Zero Two. Zero Two's head was lowered, her arms trembling slightly, and Ichigo could clearly see bright red blood on her clenched fists.

"No, Zero Two, I'm not lying to you. Jing Chen, that's right, he must have gone to find you!" Goro quickly explained.

Zero Two suddenly raised his head, his eyes gleaming red as he glared at everyone, and shouted, "Shut up!"

Jing Chen walked to the dormitory alone, looked at the big trees, the grass, and the greenhouse hidden in the woods, and took a deep breath.

"Phew... In this filthy world, to still have a place with fresh air like this, I don't know whether to call it luck or misfortune," Jing Chen said.

Entering the dormitory, it was completely quiet. Considering the time of day, there shouldn't be anyone there. Besides, Mei and the others had been preventing them from meeting, so if Ling Er was here, Jing Chen couldn't possibly not hear anything.

Walking up to the third floor, I found Zero Two's room by memory and knocked on the door: "Zero Two, it's me. I'd like to talk to you about something. Can you open the door?"

The walls were covered with marks resembling sword or knife wounds, and the pillows and sheets were also badly damaged. Taking two steps forward, Jing Chen stepped on something, squatted down, picked it up, and saw that it was the mirror he had given to Ling Er.

However, the mirror is now covered in cracks and several pieces are missing. It's no longer the same mirror it was when it was given to Zero Two.

The glass might have been broken accidentally, but what about the crack in the window? "Oh no!" Jing Chen exclaimed and turned to run out of the dormitory.

In the ward, everyone had been knocked unconscious, and the room was filled with Zero Two's unrestrained laughter. Zero Two was grabbing Ichigo by the collar, lifting her into the air, and mockingly said, "Humans are so weak. Now you understand, right? Don't get in my way anymore!"

"Zero Two!" Jing Chen's voice rang out from outside the ward.

Ling Er turned her head and saw Jing Chen leaning against the door frame, panting heavily. "Darling."

Jing Chen could clearly see that Ling Er's eyes were glowing red, and that Ling Er's left hand was still holding up a strawberry. "What are you doing?"

"Finally, I've met you, Darling. I have something I want to say to Darling." With that, Zero Two slowly let go of Ichigo's hand and then tossed Ichigo aside.

"Strawberry!" Jing Chen shouted, gritting his teeth as he used teleportation to catch Strawberry before she hit the ground.

Ling Er's eyes slowly widened, and then she looked incredulously at Jing Chen, who was holding Mei in his arms.

"Jingchen, run!" Mei said to Jingchen after coughing for a while.

Seeing Mei's current state, Jing Chen gritted his teeth and asked Ling Er, "Why did you do this?"

"Why? Darling, you said you should speak up no matter what. But these guys keep getting in my way, so I..." Zero Two stared wide-eyed at Mei lying in Jing Chen's arms.

Jing Chen stared intently at Ling Er, while one hand protectively held Mei in her arms. Ling Er's gaze softened considerably, and she said, "Darling, let's talk this out. Even now, we can definitely understand each other."

Jing Chen chuckled lightly. "Now? Mutual understanding? Zero Two, is something bothering you? The Zero Two you are now is a monster! The Zero Two I don't know at all!"

Ling Er looked at Jing Chen in disbelief, but quickly recovered and remained silent as she watched Jing Chen protecting Mei.

The next day, a transport plane flew towards the thirteenth city. Meanwhile, in the pilots' quarters, Zero Two, wearing her old coat, stood by the window looking out. Behind her, two people were helping her pack. After they finished, Zero Two turned around and followed them out of the room. After taking a few steps, Zero Two saw a small basin on the bed containing a shattered mirror, many pieces of which had fallen. The small shards in the basin were fragments from that broken mirror.

Everyone was rubbing the wounds inflicted by Zero Two in the living room when the door opened. Two people dressed in black, each carrying a suitcase, stepped out first, followed by Zero Two. Zero Two's red horns had grown much longer and he looked even more ferocious.

The girls stood in the corridor outside the building, watching Zero Two leave. The other three remained expressionless, though Xin seemed to want to say something but swallowed it back. Jing Chen had also been discharged from the hospital. His body had recovered, but his soul power... Just as Jing Chen reached the door, the two men in black brought Zero Two out. Watching Zero Two walk past him expressionlessly, Jing Chen, too, showed no expression. It was as if the two were complete strangers.

"That's good, Jingchen." Mei came out of the dormitory, stood next to Jingchen, and said as she watched Ling Er walk away.

"Hmm." Jing Chen nodded expressionlessly.

"Are you willing to part with it?" Mei asked, standing in front of Jing Chen.

Jing Chen chuckled and ruffled Mei's hair, saying, "So what if they're willing to part with me? So what if they're reluctant? To them, I'm no longer of any use. What reason do they have to waste their top-tier frontline forces here with us?"

Mei was stunned for a moment, seemingly not expecting Jing Chen to see things so clearly... But...

Jing Chen noticed Mei's worry and said with a smile, "Don't worry, I've never been taken advantage of. I'm going to settle accounts with them for everything that's happened over the past ten years, one by one!"

Mei smiled, cupped Jing Chen's face, and kissed him. Jing Chen was a little stunned; this unexpected kiss left his mind blank for a moment.

On the tarmac, the entire 9' crew was gathered. A blond-haired boy, one hand on his hip, said to Zero Two, "Welcome back, 9'." He then turned and pointed to the two rows of operators at the transport plane's entrance, saying, "Look, these are all prepared for you by the Doctor. Use them however you like."

Zero Two walked past them expressionlessly, showing no intention of paying them any attention.

Mei slowly released Jing Chen, gazing at him tenderly. Jing Chen smiled and asked, "What's wrong? Why so suddenly?"

"I just want to kiss you, is that not allowed?" Ichigo stood up straight, put her hands on her hips, and puffed out her cheeks as she spoke.

Jing Chen smiled helplessly. Before the two noticed, Wu Lang came downstairs. The door was still open, and Wu Lang, standing at the top of the stairs, saw the two flirting.
