Chapter 64 The Invisibility Cloak Makes a Dazzling Debut
A chilling gust of wind suddenly brushed past Quirrell's ear, sending shivers down his spine. He swallowed hard, then looked back with trepidation. A hideous, crimson monster's head was charging toward his face, its gaping maw wide open.
Ah ~
A piercing, ear-piercing scream echoed throughout the entire floor!
It is said that Filch found Quirrell, who was incontinent, while on patrol. He even found a broken plank and dragged Quirrell to the school hospital on the first floor.
However, there is another extended version of the story: the disabled but determined Lady Lorice, with her half-meter-long fur, patrolled the castle. When she came down from the third floor, Filch smelled the stench on her fur. He followed the water stains on the floor and found Quirrell, half-outside and half-inside, lying in a urinal.
Regardless of which version is true, Quirrell's embarrassing incident of urinating incontinence has spread throughout the castle.
When Ms. Pomfrey gave him permission to leave the school hospital, he covered his face with a handkerchief and walked along the stone wall of the corridor with his head down.
The students in the corridor, disgusted by Quirrell's smell (which had actually dissipated), quickly walked away from him, hugging the stone wall on the other side of the corridor.
Of course, there are always exceptions, such as the toad Rafer, who happily hops around with its owner in the breeze.
Leif jumped in front of Quirrell, puffed out its vocal sac, and made a croaking sound. When it saw that Quirrell was standing still and wouldn't move aside, it got angry and opened its mouth wide, bouncing on Quirrell's forehead.
Looking at the wide, gaping mouth of the toad, Quirrell couldn't help but recall the crimson monster from the previous night. He then hiccuped and passed out.
Meanwhile, Rafe, who had won his first battle, lay on Quirrell's face and croaked loudly.
"Lyleford, sob, don't leave Professor Quirrell!"
Kind-hearted Neville picked up Rafer and tried to wake Quirrell, but no matter how many times he shook him, Quirrell wouldn't wake up.
At this point, Pansy Parkinson gave a bad idea: "He's so bored, take off his face cloth and headscarf."
"Oh, right, it's so boring!"
Neville clumsily untied his veil, and Quirrell's gaunt, skeletal face startled him, causing him to gasp. As he shakily tried to remove the headscarf, his wrist was suddenly gripped tightly.
"Ah!!" he cried out, only to realize that Quirrell had grabbed his wrist. "Professor, you...you're awake?!"
Quirrell's ears were ringing; he couldn't hear what Neville was saying. All he could see was the boy's mouth opening and closing, and the image of the crimson monster opening its mouth to eat people flashed through his mind again. He pushed Neville away with all his might and stood up, leaning against the stone wall.
"I...I'm fine, no...don't worry about me!"
He held onto the stone wall with one hand and protected his headscarf with the other, his figure slowly disappearing around the corner of the corridor.
Quirrell seems afraid of his mouth?
Hermione, who had watched the whole farce, frowned and asked in confusion.
Robin: ←_←, tsk, no wonder he's the one I chose, he's got a smart head. Quirrell, seeing the reactions of Toad's big mouth and Neville's mouth, clearly has PTSD, the kind that causes hallucinations.
"He went to the kitchen to steal food and got caught?" Ron asked, equally puzzled.
"Ron, Quirrell doesn't seem like the type to be obsessed with talking," Harry said.
"We'll find out what Quirrell is up to sooner or later. Hermione, have you packed everything for your train tonight?" Robin asked.
"All done! Here, this is the list I made. When you three are on vacation, go through the books listed by themes and titles and see if they mention Nicolas Flamel. If you find anything, send Fatty to tell me."
Hermione pulled out a list and placed it in Robin's hand.
"Um, forgive my bluntness, but this big fat thing looks like a pig. Can it even fly?"
Ron couldn't help but complain whenever he thought of the round owl.
"Who do you think you are? During the holidays, you're all going to spend your time in the library!"
Amidst his roommates' wails and indignation, Luo Bin stuffed the note into his pocket.
With the holiday approaching, Luo Bin kept his word and dragged the two of them to the library every afternoon. As for the morning, he coughed and couldn't get up.
In the evenings, those who stay on campus for the holidays gather in the common room to play a wizard-style chess game where the pieces move, talk, and even raise their chins to criticize the players' poor skills.
Robin wasn't interested in Wizard Chess; after watching just three games, he would yawn and feel sleepy.
Ron really enjoyed playing this game. He defeated Harry, Seamus, Fred, and George in a row, and declared that he would participate in international competitions when he grew up.
Since being diagnosed with PTSD, Quirrell has locked himself in the faculty dormitory. However, with the help of Lu Dan and the time limit of Murphy Eli's drug, Robin is unsure how long Quirrell's "mental damage and daydreaming" state can last.
Christmas was approaching, and when the three of them woke up in the morning, they found an oversized red stocking at the foot of their respective beds.
"Merry Chrismas."
Ron, clutching the stockings, grinned like a complete idiot.
I wish you happiness too.
After offering his congratulations with sleepy eyes, Luo Bin rolled from the head of the bed to the foot, picked up his stockings, and looked through them to see what gifts were inside.
The first one was a small, thick paper package with the words "Kodak and Rothschild (Gringotts employees) to Robin" written in bold strokes. Inside the package was a finely crafted pocket watch with a chain. When opened, a round mirror was embedded in the inside of the lid. After examining it, Robin discovered that it contained no magic; it was just a Muggle watch.
The second was a bulging paper package with no sender's name on it. Inside was a thick, bright red sweater with the letter L printed on it. Without a doubt, it was hand-knitted by Ms. Molly.
The third was a thin envelope from Ginny Weasley, containing a handwritten greeting card and a laminated butterfly specimen. Although not a rare species, its colors were vibrant, its antennae lifelike, and all its scales aligned in one direction, showing how much care Ginny had taken.
The rest were all automatically dispensed candies, cheeses, chocolates, etc.
Meanwhile, Ron and Harry were also unpacking gifts from stockings.
"My mom knits us a sweater every year. Mine is... well, a dark purplish-red, it's terribly ugly."
Ron threw the sweater on the bed and said angrily.
"I also received one. It's bright green and feels very comfortable to the touch."
Harry held the sweater, looking very happy.
"Then put your sweater on!" Ron retorted.
"It's too thick, I'll wear it when I go out to play in the snow."
Harry folded the sweater and put it on the blanket before continuing to unpack his gifts. Before long, the stockings were completely soaked through.
He picked up the last paper package. Perhaps the bottom of the package wasn't sealed properly, because a silvery-gray, thin, liquid-like substance slid from the bottom of the package onto the floor and piled up. It was shimmering with scales and was clearly not an ordinary item.
"This is."
Harry picked up the paper-thin object and asked in confusion.
"I read in a book that, if I'm not mistaken, it should be an extremely rare and precious—an invisibility cloak!"
Luo Bin suppressed his excitement and replied.
The Holy Relics, the Deathly Hallows.
An invisibility cloak, who wouldn't get excited when they see it?
"An invisibility cloak?"
"Whether it is or not, you'll know once you try it on."
Harry draped the Invisibility Cloak over his left shoulder, and then the entire left half of his body disappeared.
Ron's eyes widened, and he shouted, "It's the Invisibility Cloak! I've heard of it, Harry! Who gave it to you?"
