Chapter 77 The Easter Holiday is Coming
Chapter 77 The Easter Holiday is Coming
Wave~
Ron pulled out the white cloth strip, the tip stained dark red with blood. He tossed it aside with disdain and boasted smugly, "Malfoy's got a sharp tongue, saying the Weasleys were poor and Neville was brainless. Heh, I punched him a few times and he's screaming like a baby. His eye's still black and blue. Neville was brave too; he took on Crabbe and Goyle by himself. But he was knocked unconscious and's in the school hospital now. Don't worry too much, Madam Pomfrey said Neville'll be fine."
After saying that, he laughed loudly at the ceiling, looking like a complete idiot.
"Never mind him, tell me, what did you two do after the match?" Hermione asked.
Robin cleared his throat and briefly recounted how he had followed the owl into the Forbidden Forest, eavesdropped on the conversation, rescued the owl, and fought the black spider.
When Hermione heard that the spider's claws were about to sever someone's head, she gasped, her worried and concerned gaze sweeping over the two men's necks.
When Ron heard that the spider had been burned to a crisp, his eyes showed envy and regret. Fighting the black spider versus beating up Malfoy, the former was obviously more exciting and challenging. Fred and George could also use this to scare them when they bullied others.
"Um, next time something like this happens, remember to call me. Also, judging from Snape and Quirrell's conversation, Snape knew Quirrell wanted to steal the Philosopher's Stone and even warned him, but the fact that he never told the headmaster is quite thought-provoking."
"Snape mentioned Quirrell's 'secret trick,' so besides Fluffy, there might be other mechanisms under the Living Plank protecting Nicolas Flamel's Philosopher's Stone," Hermione speculated.
"What do you think about telling the Headmaster and Dean McGonagall that Quirrell is trying to steal the Philosopher's Stone?" Harry suggested.
Robin shook his head in disagreement. "I don't recommend doing that. First, we have no evidence; all our conclusions are based on personal speculation. Second, Snape, who indiscriminately hates everyone, won't testify for us; his attitude is clear: he wants to settle this privately. Third, Quirrell has hundreds of reasons to refute us, and doing this would only alert them."
"I completely agree with Robin's point of view. I think what we should do is keep this a secret for now and pay close attention to the movements in the rightmost corridor on the fourth floor. If necessary, we can take turns monitoring Quirrell, and if we find any evidence that could kill Quirrell, we should expose him to Professor McGonagall."
Hermione's suggestion was approved by all three.
Harry frowned, looking at the owls snuggling together and sleeping on the table. "What do we do with them?"
"Let's send them to the hunting grounds. Hagrid loves keeping small animals," Robin suggested.
With everything temporarily settled, the group cleaned up the table and quietly slipped back to their dormitory to rest.
In the following weeks, the group would make up various excuses to go to the rightmost corridor on the fourth floor, and then press their heads against the wooden door to listen for Louie, the three-headed dog, to see if he was breathing heavily.
If it is, it means it is still alive and still carrying out its mission of guarding the Philosopher's Stone. If not, keep knocking on the door until you can hear Luwei's roar.
The old bat's behavior did not change because of the secret talks in the Forbidden Forest. He strode around the castle all day, and whenever he encountered a non-Slytherin student he didn't like, he would find fault with them and deduct points from their grades.
Quirrell was the same; he walked close to the stone wall, kept his head down throughout class, and if he happened to catch a glimpse of someone's mouth, his legs would go weak and he would collapse to the ground, crying out in anguish: "No, don't eat me!"
Thus, the students unanimously believed that Quirrell was cowardly, timid, and easy to bully. However, Robin and his group, who knew Quirrell's true nature, did not think so. When Fred and George threw mud at Quirrell, Harry would stand up to stop them, worried that Quirrell would use dirty tricks to retaliate against them.
Ron knew how rebellious his twin brother was, so he advised Harry not to interfere with Fred and George, because the more he interfered, the more they would bully Quirrell.
Besides Quirrell and the Philosopher's Stone, Chili Pepper is also worried about her final exams. Her notebook is filled with study plans, class notes, and after-class summaries, all marked with different colors according to the importance of the knowledge points.
Harry and Ron thought the final exams were still a long way off, and that Hermione was being too anxious about something so far in the future, just like Wood. Hermione, however, held up her hands in rebuttal: "Ten weeks until the exams? For Nicolas Flamel, who has lived for over six hundred years, that's just the time it takes to have afternoon tea."
Harry and Ron disagreed with her statement. First, Nicolas Flamel had lived too long and was too far removed from them to be used as an example. Second, Robin, who had consistently outperformed Hermione in class quizzes and homework grading, had not been studying.
In response, Luo Bin said: Bro, have you ever heard of the term "secret involution"?
However, the teachers seemed to share the same idea as Xiaolajiao. They not only increased the difficulty of the quizzes but also assigned a lot of homework. If anyone dared to complain, the teachers would come over and point out how important the knowledge points were.
In late March, the four-day Easter holiday arrived.
Holidays should be synonymous with relaxation and fun, but the teachers assigned a huge amount of holiday homework, and Hermione, a workaholic, forced the three of them to spend the whole day in the library.
Inside the library, a four-person table by the window.
Bang!
After finishing his last holiday assignment, Luo Bin casually tossed his quill pen onto the table and turned to stare blankly out the window.
The weather is lovely today. A few fluffy white clouds float in the azure sky, and a gentle breeze blows through the window, bringing a refreshing coolness.
Tsk, with this weather, it's a real shame not to talk about love.
"Robin, can I borrow your Charms workbook?" Ron whispered.
"You can copy now, but can you copy during the exam?" Hermione said sternly.
"Hmph, you live by the sea, huh? You're really nosy!"
After Ron finished his sarcastic retort, he continued to speak to Robin in a flattering and pleading tone: "Just one look, just one look."
"good!"
Under Chili's angry glare and Ron's expectant gaze, Robin slowly opened his Spells homework, and a second later, snapped it shut.
Robin.
Ron stared resentfully at his mischievous roommate with his eyes as blue as the sky.
Robin shrugged. "It's not my fault. You said it yourself: just one glance, just one glance!"
"Well done," Hermione exclaimed.
"Thank you for the compliment!"
Suddenly, Robin caught a glimpse of a large, blurry figure out of the corner of his eye. He called out to the empty bookshelf not far away, "Is that you, Hagrid?"
"Hagrid is a gamekeeper, what's he doing here?"
Ron said irritably, still angry that Robin had tricked him.
Tap tap! Tap tap!
Hagrid slowly walked out of the bookshelf, wearing a heavy, out-of-place mole-skin coat and with his hands behind his back, as if he had something he didn't want others to see.
"Hi, what a coincidence!"
