Hogwarts: Nagini captured at the start

Chapter 8 What happened to the promised billion-dollar inheritance?

Chapter 8 What happened to the promised billion-dollar inheritance?

At the end of the stone corridor was a steep downhill path. The path was wet and slippery, and Luo Bin held onto the handrail to avoid slipping.

Below the steep slope, there is a railway track!

After going downhill, Rotzte whistled, and a small, rusty cart rushed up to them along the tracks, urging them to get on quickly.

The two climbed onto the cart, gripped the handles, and with a whoosh, the cart hurtled down the tracks!

There are many railways underground in Gringotts, winding and crisscrossing, making it harder than climbing to the sky to remember the tracks of the trolleys.

The cold, damp air whistled past Robin's ears, making his earlobes and eyes ache. But he still forced his eyes open, unwilling to miss the chance to observe the underground structure of the famous Fairy Bank in the magical world.

Dark blue earthen walls, tangled railway tracks, a fiery dragon chained by thick iron chains, and an underground lake with stalactites and stalagmites hanging from its ceiling.

After a long while, the cart stopped in front of an open space. Robin flipped over and landed steadily on the ground, staring expressionlessly at the vault door not far away!

"Young sir, that's quite impressive. It's rare to see someone like you get off in a trolley without blushing, out of breath, or trembling. Come along. Vault 714 is a bit special; it doesn't have a keyhole."

"If any unlucky soul were to curiously tap it, he'd surely be sucked into the magic door, and what awaited him would either be a trial by the Ministry of Magic or starvation. Hey, young master, why are you standing still? Hurry up and catch up!"

Robin: ...

Do you think I don't want to leave?

But my legs feel like they're filled with a thousand pounds of lead, I can't lift them!

My ears were buzzing like a dozen bees had gotten into them!

My head feels like it's been hit countless times with an 80-pound sledgehammer; it hurts like hell!

I'm in pain, but I'm not going to say it!

Robin stared at Rothschild for three minutes with a stern face before finally walking awkwardly to the door of vault number 714.

Rotz shook his head, thinking to himself that youth is indeed an advantage, as people are more concerned with saving face than old men. Then, he strode after him.

"How do I open it if there's no keyhole?"

Luo Bin asked the question knowing the answer already.

"It's not difficult, but it's not easy either; all you need is..."

As he spoke, Rotzit extended his long, wrinkled index finger and rhythmically tapped on the vault door.

With a series of loud knocking sounds, the door gradually disappeared.

A thick white fog billowed out from inside the door. After the fog dissipated, the scene inside... well, okay, there was still a dark, peeping-proof magic barrier blocking their view.

"You may go in now, Mr. Lestrange. I'll be waiting in the trolley!"

After Rotzte left, Robin took a deep breath and walked inside.

Robin gasped as he stepped through the black magic barrier and saw what was inside!

Vault 714 is unlike the vault left by Harry Potter's father, which has piles of gold coins, silver bars, and mountains of copper coins, or the Weasley family vault, which has a few scattered silver shicos and a small pile of copper knuts!

Vault 714 contained only a single piece of paper, a piece of paper floating in mid-air, 10cm long and 1cm wide!

Luo Bin reached out and grabbed the note, which read: Struggle is power, determination is wealth!

play?

Are you kidding me?

How did the promised vast fortune turn into nothing more than a worthless piece of paper?

Who could stand that?

Tesm had told the original owner countless times that the wealth accumulated by the Lestrange family over generations was stored at Gringotts headquarters, and that even if they squandered it for more than a dozen lifetimes, they still wouldn't be able to finish it.

So, it's all just for kids?

Undeterred, Robin knocked on the door repeatedly, and after confirming that there was indeed only a note with a "wise saying" in the 3×3×3m vault, he collapsed onto the floor, utterly dejected.

I'm a complete idiot, a bit slow, a bit clueless, and a bit clever, but even in this other world, I can't escape the fate of digging for gold.

The dream of getting rich overnight is shattered, but life goes on, right? There are still two little guys inside the Rubik's Cube that need to be taken care of!

Click!Click!

Luo Bin tore the note into pieces and tossed them casually into the air!

Just as I was about to get up and head to Diagon Alley to find a summer job and earn some money to buy textbooks, uniforms, and equipment, the shredded paper suddenly emitted a strange green glow.

Oh dear, could it be that it senses I don't agree with the idea that "struggle is power, and determination is wealth," and is planning to retaliate against me?

With a whoosh!

The shredded paper transformed into countless green dots, each the size of a grain of sand. These green dots merged, differentiated, and flowed, eventually forming a single sentence.

"Haha, kid, scared out of your wits? I was just kidding!"

Robin: ...

Uh, this joke isn't funny at all.

The green dots dispersed again, drifting to every corner of the vault, and then fell like raindrops, hitting the ground with a "poof" sound, turning into a dense cloud of green mist.

Soon, the entire vault was shrouded in green mist. Robin folded his clothes three times to cover his mouth and nose. Who knew if his ancestors, whose "mischievousness" had reached its peak, had been up to something with the green mist?

However, his worries were clearly unnecessary, because the green mist was dissipating at a visible rate.

After the green mist dissipated, the true face of the vault was revealed.

The bulging, off-white burlap sacks, stacked one on top of the other, took up half the space of the vault.

The remaining half contained four large wooden crates and a pile of scrap metal.

Robin curiously opened one of the boxes, which contained rolls of parchment. He unfolded one of the rolls, which had the recipe for a 'baldness hair regrowth' potion written on it.

A potion recipe?

Is it

He reached into the box and opened more than a dozen scrolls in a row.

Instant sleep potion, body odor eliminateant, pet fur shine and smoothing agent, nearsightedness improvement agent. Aphrodisiac?!

Oh my god, I'm rich! I'm rich!

If used properly, these potion recipes can bring in immeasurable wealth!

The famous Potter family, didn't they start out with potion recipes?

Pay-to-win is on the horizon!

Luo Bin couldn't help but smile as he excitedly opened the other three boxes.

The second and third boxes, like the first, were filled with scrolls of potion recipes. The fourth box was filled with gold coins.

Robin picked one up and took a bite, leaving a row of teeth marks. There was a golden taste in his mouth; it was definitely a Galleon!

The box was huge and packed full, probably containing tens of thousands of items. With this box of stuff, they wouldn't have to worry about textbooks, uniforms, or equipment for seven years.

Luo Bin walked up to the pile of sacks. He was curious whether they contained grains or herb seeds. After opening one sack, his deep, dark eyes reflected specks of golden light.

It turned out that the sack was filled with gold dust!

He opened several more bags, all filled with fine, warm-to-the-touch gold dust. Holding a handful of gold dust felt like holding a flying broom; the sensation was indescribably wonderful.

The boxes and sacks are priceless, so the pile of things in the corner must be more than just scrap metal!
