Chapter 80 Fire Dragon Cub, You're Very Hard!

Chapter 80 Fire Dragon Cub, You're Very Hard!

"Come on, everyone, gather around here."

Hagrid walked to the low table and called out. On the table lay a dragon egg with a deep, vertical crack.

The dragon cub seemed quite restless, rolling around in the egg and making interesting clicking sounds coming from inside.

To prevent the dragon egg from rolling to the ground, Hagrid had built a wall of thin branches around the table. Robin moved his chair closer to the table, his eyes wide as he closely watched the dragon egg's movements.

Suddenly, with a cracking sound, the dragon egg split open and broke into two halves. The little dragon cub, about the size of a wooden basin, flapped its wings and made a sound like a lamb.

The three little ones were astonished. They pressed their elbows against the tree branch wall and leaned forward, while Robin leaned back slightly and even tried to move the stool further away because he was disgusted by the appearance of the Norwegian Spinosaurus cub.

Luo Bin thought that the dragon cub looked just like a black umbrella that had been run over countless times by a truck—dark and wrinkled.

The dragon cub was very thin and small, so thin that you could clearly see rows of ribs, but its spiky wings were very large, large enough to cover three dragon bodies.

Its head was very small, about the size of a fist, but its nose was unusually large, with white nostrils, and an ugly horn on the top of its head.

Oh, right, its orange-red eyes bulge out like a bald, smelly old man's; I wonder if it has hyperthyroidism.

A sneeze!

Its nose itched, it sneezed, and a few bright yellow sparks flew out of its white nostrils.

"It's absolutely gorgeous, isn't it?"

No one would dislike their own child for being ugly, and Hagrid was no exception. After praising it, he reached out to touch the dragon cub's head.

The little dragon twisted its neck to dodge, then it pounced in front of Robin, picked up a thin twig, and tried to poke his wrist.

Luo Bin: ? ? ?

"Oh my god, look, it's holding a grudge."

Hagrid said excitedly and proudly.

Luo Bin: (ー_ー)!!, Uh, you haven't even had a sip of milk and you've already learned how to take revenge, little girl, you're really something!

Question: What should I do if my baby is too naughty?

Robin's answer was, "Just beat him up."

Luo Bin ripped the twig out of the fire dragon cub's mouth, gripped its upper and lower jaws with one hand, and slapped its bottom with the other, bang, bang, until its orange eyes were misty and it made a whimpering sound like a puppy.

Hagrid was terrified by the scene. He hugged the dragon cub and comforted it gently. But the dragon cub was the kind of creature that never learns its lesson. After only a few minutes of being still, it pounced in front of Robin again, blinking, breathing, and sticking out its tongue, full of provocation.

Luo Bin: Good grief, you've got your hands on me, huh?

When the fire dragon cub stuck out its tongue for the eighteenth time, Luo Bin quickly grabbed the tip of its tongue. To be honest, although it was unsightly, the feel of a certain part of its tongue was top-notch.

It's warm, smooth, and soft; if it didn't have barbs, the texture would be almost premium.

"Robin, stop! You're making it cry."

Hermione pointed it out, and Robin noticed a crystal tear hanging beneath the orange-red gem. Well, making the little dragon cry seemed rather embarrassing.

"Hey, stop crying. I won't tease you today, okay?"

Robin pulled out his wand, ostensibly casting a fire spell, but secretly activating the "Crimson Flame" skill. Three seconds later, a red flame the size of an apple emerged from the tip of the ebony wand.

belch!

After the fire dragon cub hiccuped, it stared longingly at the red fire. Wherever Robin moved his hand, its eyes followed.

"Hey, little black rascal, do you want to eat it (red fire)? If you do, imitate a few cow moos for your big brother!"

Luo Bin coaxed the naive little female dragon.

"Robin, it's a dragon, it can't emit that power."

Moo! Moo! Moo!

A few crisp mooing sounds 'hit' Ron's little face, making it sting painfully.

"Good boy/girl, here you go."

Robin flicked his wrist, and the red flame left the wand. The dragon cub opened its mouth wide, caught the red flame, ate it, and then happily squinted its eyes, its tail banging against the low table.

"Um, it seems 'Raising Dragons for Recreation and Profit' is a bit outdated. I clearly remember that 'fire' wasn't in the Norwegian Spinosaurus hatchling diet. Wait, who's there?"

Hagrid's bright red face suddenly turned white, and he leaped up and strode towards the window.

"Who is it?" Hermione asked.

The curtains in the window were still swaying slightly, indicating that someone had opened the window, lifted the curtains, and was peeking into the room.

"He ran too fast, I didn't see his face clearly, but I'm sure it was a boy. Oh, and by the way, his hair was light blonde," Hegel said, looking preoccupied.

Upon hearing the words "pale gold," the group immediately guessed that Draco Malfoy was peeking through the window. He had seen the dragon cub; what kind of trouble would he cause?

"If I had known Malfoy would follow me and peek, I would have punched him in the eye this morning," Ron said viciously, clenching his fist.

"Never mind him for now, we need to get back to the castle quickly, or we'll be late for Charms class," Robin said.

After saying goodbye to Hagrid and the dragon cub, the four turned and headed towards the castle.

For the next week, at Hermione's insistence, Robin and the others took turns monitoring Malfoy's movements. Meanwhile, aside from eating, sleeping, attending classes, and doing homework, they spent all their time at the hunting lodge, explaining the facts and reasoning, and citing ancient texts to persuade Hagrid to send the dragon cub away.

At first, Hagrid was extremely stubborn, insisting on sending away the dragon cub as if it were his life. In the later stages, his attitude gradually softened, and he became less clenched.

In the end, it was Robin's words, "If we send it away voluntarily, the fire dragon cub will at most suffer the pain of separation. But if the Ministry of Magic comes, it's hard to say what kind of grievances it will suffer," that made him painfully decide to send the black dragon cub away.

"Nober, come to your mother."

After Hagrid made his decision, the way he looked at the dragon cubs became even more maternal, and he even called himself "Dragon Mom."

The little dragon carried a bunch of hydrangeas to Robin's arms and then happily went off to find Hagrid.

In just one week, it had grown to three times its original size. When it ran, its paws pounded the ground. Judging from the chicken feathers all over the house and the empty bottles scattered on the floor, Hagrid had been giving it extra food.

"Nober, I looked through many naming books before I came up with this name. I know I can't keep Nober forever, but... it's too weak. It can't survive on its own in the wild. I can't just abandon it in some valley."

Hagrid choked back tears as he spoke.

"Hagrid, no one in the house would just throw Norber away. We can take him to the Fire Dragon Research Base."

"There's a small dragon research facility on one of the islands in Cornwall, and I happen to know one of the people in charge there. You know, my parents are magical creature researchers. Maybe I can write a letter and ask Roland Rubler if he'd be willing to take in a dragon cub," Robin suggested, twirling the stem of a hydrangea.

Although the little fire dragon's appearance wasn't exactly what he wanted, it was cute and knew how to be affectionate. For the past week, Robin had spent a lot of time playing with it and having fun. Of course, he also used the "Crimson Flame" skill quite often.
