Pirates: Martial Arts Masters on the Straw Hat Ship

Chapter 5 Luffy and Zoro get into a horse stance

After a brief farewell to the residents of Star Point, Ronan's small boat, carrying the four of them, slowly departed from the coast.

From behind came the townspeople's heartfelt farewells.

Nami turned her gaze from the sea to Ronan, her tone tinged with a mixture of confusion and regret stemming from her greed:

"Hey, Ronan, the captain of the Rending Sail Pirates is a notorious pirate with a bounty of three million Berries. Are you just going to give away your spoils and bounty to the townspeople like that?"

Ronan watched the town recede into the distance along the coast, his eyes calm:

"Their town was so badly destroyed by pirates, let them use this money to rebuild their houses."

Nami pouted, muttering with a hint of dissatisfaction:

"You're quite generous..."

Then, she sighed deeply, revealing her longing for wealth:

"I thought I'd make a fortune from seeing the pirate ship, but I ended up getting nothing. Even their pirate ship was broken!"

"When will I ever save enough money like this!"

Zoro, with his keen ears, turned to look at Nami, half-reclining on the boat, and asked, "What's wrong? Are you short of money?"

Nami snorted and crossed her arms, saying, "None of your business!"

Ronan didn't get involved in their argument. He turned to Luffy, who was sitting energetically at the bow of the ship: "Hey, Luffy, where are we going now?"

Upon hearing Ronan's words, Luffy's eyes lit up, and he clenched his right fist, declaring loudly, "Of course it's—the Grand Line!"

No sooner had Luffy finished speaking than Nami put her hands on her hips and shouted, "Entering the Grand Line like this is too reckless!"

Nami looked serious and focused, but Luffy seemed to have only heard the key words, swallowing the apple core he had just finished eating and asking in confusion:

"That's right, we still need to eat meat!"

"I can't just eat apples!" Zoro said, resting his head on his hand in a relaxed, reclining position, but his eyes were wide awake. "I really want to drink!"

Ronan sighed as well, weighing the broken stick in his hand, which was less than a third of its original length.

"I also need a good iron spear; wooden sticks are just too lousy."

Zoro, drawn in by Ronan's words, turned to look at him again, his curiosity evident.

"Speaking of which, the move you used with a wooden stick that had such great power, that was a gun technique, right?"

That's quite rare; it's the first time I've ever seen someone use a gun.

Ronan nodded: "Yes, it's my family's thirteen-spear technique of Xingyi."

"What are you talking about!"

Nami was furious at the sight of the three men who were talking to themselves and not listening to her at all.

She grabbed an apple and smashed it hard on Zoro's neck.

"Boom!"

The apple bounced off, but Luffy stretched out his arm, caught it instantly, and stuffed it into his mouth.

"We're not just short of manpower," Nami said angrily, pointing to the nautical chart, highlighting our current predicament, "we're also short of ships!"

She calmed herself down, pointed to a spot on the map, and suggested to the group:

"A little further south, there's an inhabited island. If we could get a decent boat there, that would be great!"

"Alright! Let's go eat meat!" Luffy immediately grasped the key point and shouted happily.

"And my wine!" Zoro perked up and sat up straight.

Ronan's eyes were resolute as he added, "Go get a rifle!"

"I'm telling you guys...!" Nami was utterly speechless and helpless, and could only look at the group of crew members full of goals, rubbing her forehead and sighing.

......

The East China Sea, a certain sea area.

The sea was calm and shimmering, like scattered gold, with small boats sailing slowly on it.

On the ship, Ronan had already entered a meditative state.

In the cramped space, he stood in a standard horse stance, with his back straight, knees not buckling outward, hips relaxed, and breath drawn to his lower abdomen, coordinating with rhythmic breathing.

[Perseverance] Although the system did not grant training bonuses when not in combat, Ronan could clearly feel his body growing stronger in a slow but steady manner.

Meanwhile, Zoro and Luffy were also standing next to Ronan, practicing their horse stances in a very professional manner.

Despite having only studied for one day, under Ronan's careful guidance, their postures were already quite standard.

Using the breathing techniques taught by Ronan, the two men were radiating heat. They had been holding on for a full half hour, but they still gritted their teeth and persevered.

Nami, sitting on the edge of the boat enjoying the sun, with her hands behind her head, watched the three men practicing horse stance and couldn't help but sneer:

"What three idiots! Such beautiful weather, instead of enjoying the sun, they're sweating on the boat!"

Ronan and his two companions ignored her taunts.

When he felt that his practice had come to an end, he slowly stopped and exhaled a long breath of turbid air.

Zoro and Luffy also exhaled a breath of hot air almost simultaneously, finished their training, and stood up.

Zoro wiped the sweat from his brow and looked at Ronan with eager eyes:

"Ronan, your stance is really good! I can clearly feel my strength gradually increasing, especially my lower body, which is much more stable than before!"

Luffy grinned and shouted, "Yeah, yeah! Even though I can't move while practicing this, I feel like I've gotten a little stronger!"

Ronan gave a confident smile: "Of course. This is a fundamental skill for strengthening the body and is the foundation of Chinese martial arts."

He looked at Zoro with a serious expression of his mission: "In a few days, I'll teach you a few more martial arts techniques to strengthen your bodies."

Upon hearing this, Zoro's eyes gleamed with excitement:

"OK!"

He knew very well how precious these special cultivation methods, which could systematically improve physical fitness, were; they could not be measured in money.

He was naturally happy and grateful to hear that Ronan would also teach him boxing techniques.

However, Luffy scoffed and immediately shouted, "Ronan, I want to learn right now!"

Ronan looked helplessly at the cramped deck around him: "On such a small ship, it's difficult to even stretch out an arm, there's no room to maneuver." Upon hearing this, Luffy had no choice but to give up.

A short while later, Nami suddenly sprang up from her lying position, pointed to the sea ahead, and shouted excitedly, "Hey! I can see an island!"

Ronan, Zoro, and Luffy all looked in the direction of the sound.

Sure enough, on the horizon not far away, the outline of a lush, green island was slowly emerging.

"We've finally arrived," Ronan thought with a thrill.

With land, he could not only unleash his skills, but more importantly, he could get a handy iron spear!
