A mage? A spell engineer!

Chapter 578 Opening the Heavens

Chapter 578 Opening the Heavens

What does that mean? Is he the reincarnation of Xiaoqiang?

Rorschach hesitated for a moment before picking up the hand that sealed the memories.

Prior to this, Rorschach had already figured out the pattern of how the Tower Spirit extracted memories: the first layer was to mobilize the past behavior of ancient sages and package them into a "person"; the second layer was a network of knowledge that could answer and analyze some questions to a limited extent.

The deepest connection is to the part of his hands that is currently sealed.

It's not entirely accurate to say that the ancient sages completely refused to let anyone see; otherwise, they wouldn't have gone to the trouble of sealing it inside an artificial soul. They left behind a clever restriction that allows the tower spirit to provide specific answers based on the sealed memories and knowledge.

However, such an answer would only make Rorschach feel uncomfortable.

Give me one reason not to explore it.

"I don't know. The seals were placed by the sage himself, and they will disappear if you insist on breaking them." The tower spirit's eyes gleamed. "The secret will be revealed, very soon."

At this moment, it seemed no longer the tower spirit was speaking, but the ancient sage himself: "You have already obtained knowledge and memory, asking for nothing in return, only requesting that you respect my wishes."

Rorschach studied it for a moment, then reluctantly accepted: "I will, I will wait for that day to come."

"Yes, but don't get your hopes up too high; that day won't be a 'good day'."

"The third step will take three minutes to reach the designated location."

"The first step of the assembly is complete, and all tests are normal."

"The ladder to heaven is ready."

Attention all units

The sound of the "Amplification Technique" echoed throughout the space center. Moreover, communication devices connected to the magic towers in the sky and in various locations were also emitting sounds.

Finally, everyone at the space center held their breath, and a somewhat cold and rigid voice rang out: "Ten, nine, eight."

"Three, two, one, fire!"

The starship did not originate from the launch tower, nor was it erected pointing towards the sky. Until the moment of ignition, this cigar-shaped behemoth remained prostrate on the ground.

Before it lies the "Zero Ring Step," a vertical portal on the ground, behind which are layers of reinforced push-back walls.

Between the portals are concentric arched pillars. These "ribs" are arranged to cover the starship itself and its path on the ground, with the levitation force field outputting to its maximum until the pressure on the support structure under the starship reaches zero.

Flames and white mist roared out, and the zero-ring spatial membrane completely covered the area within the ring, as the ladder to the stars unfolded towards Starship One.

It began to sprint and accelerate, instantly disappearing into the portal.

The distorted spatial membrane disappeared along with the tail flame, and the entire center twisted for a moment. Fortunately, the supporting structure of the ring did not deform or disintegrate this time.

The spellcasters present ceased casting spells; they were no longer needed to cool down or maintain the shields.

But this is only step zero.

Moving from zero to one is the most difficult because the starship itself and its direction of movement must be twisted from horizontal to vertical by the teleportation array.

Even though both theory and testing have proven it to be feasible, the thought of a creature over 100 meters long passing through it still makes people nervous.

Tick-tock, tick-tock, after the starship disappeared from Teleportation Array Zero, the second hand struck twice, and the [Amplification] loudspeaker sounded again to announce:

"First stage cleared!"

Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock

"Second stage passed!"

"Reaching translattice laminar flow!"

The end of the ladder is directly aligned with the center of the laminar "vortex," so the starships that emerge from it almost never need to adjust their attitude to successfully align with the "bullseye," the weakest and most turbulent point of the prime material barrier.

Compared to the original ship that Cavendish's team was aboard, the more technologically advanced later ship was much more composed as it slowly approached the deadly cloud of debris.

Its sturdy, rounded bow began to light up with runic loops, and the fairing of the storage compartments opened in the midsection.

Inside is Rorschach's redesigned transmutation dust collector.

The thrusters increased their power slightly, slowly and steadily plunging the ship into the chaotic fragments of the divine realm. The shields rubbed intensely against these turbulent, unique entities, and then powerful suction forces altered their flow.

The new type of collector is stacked in three sections into a column shape, partially buried and partially hung on the four sides of the starship, which is a group of twelve units.

They have now been activated and detached from the main starship.

The four cylindrical boxes were left behind by the starship, and they began to unfold to a horizontal position, forming a cross shape with the main body as the center point.

At the same time, these units devoured the transmutation dust in large gulps. These troublesome, dangerous fragments, containing endless secrets and energy, turned into dust, and what was taken from them was squeezed and rushed into the magic circle pointing to the boundary.

The circuits of the terminal array were activated to their limit, yet they remained unscathed amidst the surging tide of magic. From the center of the hexagonal core, tiny golden roots sprouted and grew, gradually filling all the circuit grooves within the collector's cavity.

There is still no gap to form a barrier because the new collector is not deployed in the correct location.

A figure suddenly appeared amidst the rapidly changing laminar flow.

With current engineering technology, it is still difficult to fix these data acquisition units in the correct position, because the shielding effect of the mixed divine power here can even disconnect communication spells.

So the solution is for Rorschach himself to take action. Or rather, to create a clone.

He waited at the border early on, and after the "goods were delivered," he took on the work of a "space knight."

The transmutation dust and the body created by Rorschach brushed past each other without causing any harm. Rorschach used the [Mage's Hand] to intervene in the posture of the machines one by one and adjust their folded frames.

[The Mage's Hand] grasped the frames of the two machines and then swept them across, perfectly fusing the metal structures into one. Finally, Rorschach assembled the twelve machines and their supporting structures into a single unit.

The "Laminar Flow Ripper," or "Astral Gate," is still circular, and its diameter is similar to that of the steps of the Stairway to Heaven.

The twelve machines are positioned at a 60° angle to the normal at the point where they connect to the ring. Some of the converted energy will enter the engine units at the tail end. Originally part of the starship's propulsion, they now provide the spin drive for the Astral Gate.

At this point, the astral plane was fully opened to the material plane, albeit as a tiny "point" compared to the celestial sphere.

The first ship, which had been adrift for months, was already cruising at the edge of the great eddy, and Cavendish was constantly observing the center of the eddy through the porthole and telescope.

"It's the first ship! It's out! It's adjusting its attitude! It's now sideways!"

Cavendish shouted excitedly, and the other two crew members were also very excited, floating towards the porthole.

By this time, they had already shut down the gravity trap and retracted the magically expanded cabin space.

"This is Captain Smollett, the first ship. Calling the first ship. Please respond."

The communication equipment, which had not been used for a long time, suddenly had a signal, and the eyes of the three pioneers were slightly moistened by this small thing.

"This is the first ship, this is Captain Cavendish, you have been called."

The other party immediately sent another message: "Starting immediately, we will take over from you to complete the next exploration and research mission."

On behalf of all members of the guild and staff of the Aerospace Association, I extend my greetings and highest respect to you.

"Ship Squadron 1, please proceed through the Stargate back to base. We wish you a safe journey home!"
