Chapter 657, First Cause

Chapter 657 The First Cause (The End)

Everything returned to chaos.

The Mother Goddess is like a gentle mother, in whom all her children melt into her embrace. Those who believed in and worshipped her in the past only saw a partial view of her power or received erroneous and distorted enlightenment.

It's okay, it's all over.

All the contents of this universe converge toward the center point. The greater the mass of the convergence, the faster the acceleration of the matter in the rest of the universe. They squeeze, interweave and merge together.

The result of the entire process should be the merging of the world into a single cosmic egg, which can also be called a singularity.

But there are two exceptions.

First, there are the escapees who travel to other worlds. They are completely unaware of the disaster that befell their homeland and have no idea that "Great Demon King Rorschach" has prematurely detonated the End of Time. They are exploring the Promised Land and their future home with trepidation.

Another exception is Rorschach, whose boundary is in the void beyond the void, where the material and symbolic realms have long since collapsed, throwing him out but not far away.

There are also two intelligent entities inside: the composed Rorschach and the despairing ancient sage. It's hard to say that the latter possesses a complete soul, after all, the key to activating the divine soul—those few volumes of the Lord of Order's memories—is still firmly in Rorschach's hands.

Rorschach was prepared. When the universe collapsed, all souls were not buried and mixed together with the collapse of the symbolic realm, but were drawn to the boundary. Like snowflakes in a gale, these crystalline spots of light swept across the trunk of the Tree of Law, swarming into the great library that opened for them, and were collected into the corresponding books.

The master of the borderlands was confident that, during the migration of civilizations toward the astral plane, almost everyone plunged headlong into the "magic web" he had woven. No one could survive in the astral plane and other harsh and extreme planes without relying on magic and alchemical creations. Therefore, Rorschach's register of all souls should be complete.

When the forces of yin and yang clashed and merged, the book in Rorschach's hands lost its special power; the golden light and the restrictions on it vanished. Also vanishing was the light in the eyes of the ancient sage's phantom, which slowly and deeply said, "You have won."

The victor flipped through the memories left behind by the Lord of Order, letting out a cold snort. His own bold fabrication might contain many errors, but the Lord of Order's purpose and intentions had indeed been guessed with near accuracy. He wanted to become the ruler of creation, the sole being. He had done so in the past; in a sense, he had already accomplished it when the Church of Order unified the continent of Feloren.

Unfortunately, they have now all turned into the most basic particles. Even these indivisible particles have lost their independence and are merging together under immense pressure and strong mutual attraction.

Looking out from the void beyond the void, the vast and boundless universe appears as nothing more than a tiny marble-like dot, having achieved a temporary balance and flowing silently.

The boundary is a special existence. It is isolated from the universe because the laws of the original world of Rorschach resisted the impact of the Mother Goddess. The so-called pollution is the form of the end coming, and this "safe" is strong enough to withstand the test and was not attracted or swallowed up. However, it is not completely isolated from this universe. The connection with the past still exists faintly. At least it is not like the world that the immigrant ship arrived in, which should have been severed from this universe at this moment.

What Rorschach wants to do is project himself and everything into this egg. He will infuse it with information, paradigms, order, and laws. Just as Rorschach accelerated the destruction of the world, he also wants to accelerate the birth of the world.

It's as "simple" as flicking a marble.

Time began to flow again, space began to expand again, energy erupted first, and matter began to cool, differentiate, and clump together.

Rorschach was not the creator; everything in this universe existed naturally. However, it was Rorschach who first observed it and first projected his consciousness and order into it. The universe itself was like a newborn child; it received information from Rorschach and then began to organize its own order and laws in imitation.

In other words, Rorschach is the first cause of the new era and the new world.

At the same time, according to his will, some matter gathered together and condensed into a physical body belonging to Rorschach, thus making him also the originator of this universe.

Under Rorschach's guidance, the spatial membrane at the boundary shattered, releasing the Tree of Law.

Magic was born. It was no longer in a pervasive state, but naturally maintained a polarized state, condensing into infinitely long magic strings. With the Tree of Law as the core, it was connected with its roots to weave an invisible net.

These networks are everywhere. At this moment, illusion and reality have no meaning, and therefore no boundaries. The core and canopy of the Tree of Law begin to flicker, and a silhouette, a snapshot of the old world, begins to load and register in this world.

Thus, the entire magic network began to operate across all channels for the first time, and miracles began to be born, replacing the natural processes of movement over long periods of time, and being constructed one by one in imitation of the existence of the old world.

This is the true [World Weaving Technique]! Rorschach watched with satisfaction as celestial bodies formed in the simulated prime plane and various elemental planes.

Next, the Great Library, with its walls crumbling and pillars collapsing, released its books, and the pages began to turn. Everything that the intellect could perceive, every blade of grass and every tree, was retrospectively reconstructed. For example, a starship, when its designers, all its builders, and all those who witnessed and sailed upon it were retrieved, it was not difficult to recreate an almost identical existence.

Other things and life can be replicated in the same way.

The reality that must be recognized is that they are indeed different. After all, this is a new world unfolding, and it is not even the Ship of Theseus. It is a creation that has been completely erased and recreated from scratch.

And most importantly, the distinction between yin and yang forces is no longer clear. Rorschach has incorporated the laws of his own world, merging and transforming them into pure energy, which can be thermal energy, kinetic energy, magic power, and life force. But there is no longer divine power based on authority, nor the existence of the Lord of Order and the Mother Goddess.

From then on, myth was just myth; its core of truth was extracted and crushed by Rorschach.

As the world expands and becomes more complete, Rorschach's consciousness grows increasingly blurred, and weariness and drowsiness intensify. If no more collected souls are released, he will inherit the fate of previous creators—souls will scatter and disintegrate, transforming into the spirituality of all living beings.

Rorschach's soul is no longer needed, but he remains bound to the Tree of Law, wielding almost complete control over the laws of the world and holding all authority. This is immense pressure. The distant yet clear conversation between Feuerbach and him about "God, the Infinite, and the Finite" makes Rorschach understand that he should relinquish his ties before completely dissipating and becoming part of the world.

He had intended to do this all along. Rorschach neither wanted to replace the Lord of Order and realize his ambition to become the Creator, nor did he want to hold onto those powers forever. Just as he had given the warriors of the New World branches and the core of the Tree of Law, Rorschach would also hand over the power to revise the magic system to everyone.

In order to complete all the "replications" and to prevent the forces of Yin and Yang from diverging again and causing the universe to continue to fall into the cycle of creation and destruction, Rorschach took away a portion of the world's original power. This was very easy; with a thought, the roots of the Tree of Law began to draw "nutrients" from the entire nascent universe and bear a fruit.

Rorschach absorbed the fruit, gaining exactly 2% of the world's energy while simultaneously freeing himself from its pull, his consciousness no longer blurred and scattered. The balance of this universe would be broken; it would forever maintain a single trend, with no more reincarnation.

"I wonder if you all in this world can discover the truth?"

All souls return to the "arranged" world and enter their recreated bodies. Of course, almost everyone's memories are altered, and all the reproduced texts and other records point to the "single truth." They will only remember that the Mother Goddess's crisis was successfully resolved, and that from then on, there will be no more gods in this world.

There are no gods, and no one can monopolize magic; miracles will belong equally to everyone.

Of course, Rorschach also had a little selfish motive, which led to a small exception.

He carefully released the last of Caroline's soul, merging it with her new body. A braid of hair draped over her chest, just as Rorschach had seen her for the first time.

Their eyes met under the starry sky, and Luo Xia's voice choked with emotion: "It's over, it's all over. I'm sorry, I lied to you, I wasn't your student, and I didn't keep the promise I made sixteen years ago."

Caroline was taken aback at first, then gently asked, "Would you be willing to tell me the truth?"

"I'm willing." Rorschach felt an unbearable tightness in his throat. Damn it, he was already the strongest being in the universe, he had transcended the mortal realm, so why couldn't he control his heartbeat? "But I'll be telling a very, very long story, and I'll be on a very, very long journey home. Will you... come with me?"

"I do!"

From the peaceful sky, two bright stars met and then disappeared from the world.
