San Francisco, Chinatown, Daddy's Antique Shop.

The wooden door of Old Man's Antique Shop was ajar. When you pushed it open, you could hear the wind chimes overhead making a clear "ding-a-ling" sound.

Lin Yao leaned back in the rattan chair behind the counter, his long legs casually draped over the smooth wooden surface.

He was fiddling with a bronze coin he had taken from the shelf, tracing the blurred patterns on it with his fingertips, his eyes glazed over, a classic picture of slacking off.

Sunlight streamed through the glass windows facing the street, casting dappled shadows on him and elongating his slightly languid silhouette.

"Oh dear, Lin Yao."

A slightly angry shout broke the tranquility of the shop.

The old man, wearing his signature Tang suit and carrying a yellowed magic book, strode out of the inner room.

His gray eyebrows were tightly furrowed, his eyes were wide open, and his face was full of disappointment and frustration.

"There are so many antiques in the shop that need organizing, but you're just slacking off here."

Upon hearing this, Lin Yao put away the ancient bronze coin in his hand, stood up, and said softly:

"Dad, I just finished working, I'm taking a short rest, you know, it's good to balance work and rest."

"rest?"

The old man slammed the magic book down on the counter with a loud "thud".

"I see you've been resting since this morning."

He pointed to the porcelain covered in a thin layer of dust on the shelf, and then to the wooden crates piled up in the corner.

"Those porcelain pieces need to be wiped clean, and the antiques in the wooden boxes need to be categorized and registered. How many items did you do?"

As he spoke, Dad was about to make his familiar starting stance.

Seeing this, Lin Yao, who didn't want to suffer the same treatment as Jackie Chan, replied repeatedly, "I'll go right away, I'll go right away."

Looking at Lin Yao's stubborn and unyielding nature, the old man sighed helplessly.

He knew that Lin Yao was not a bad person at heart, but he was sometimes too lazy and lacked patience.

Then, remembering that this was a child left behind by his younger brother's lineage, he shook his head and stopped scolding him.

He turned around, picked up the magic book from the counter, and then took a ceramic jar filled with various herbs from the shelf next to him.

"I'm going to the backyard to brew some potions. You keep a close eye on the shop and don't you dare slack off again."

After saying that, the old man picked up the pottery jar and the magic book and slowly walked towards the small gate in the backyard.

Before leaving, she didn't forget to turn back and glare at Lin Yao, the warning in her eyes was self-evident.

Lin Yao watched his father's figure disappear behind the door, the transition was extremely smooth, and immediately slumped back into the rattan chair to continue slacking off.

At the same time, he used his mental energy to keep an eye on his father's situation.

In the backyard, Dad was intently studying a magic book.

He was wearing reading glasses, his fingers slowly sliding across the pages of the book, muttering to himself as if he were chanting some kind of incantation.

Then, he carefully took out a few dried herbs from the earthenware jar.

He crushed it little by little with a mortar and pestle, and then poured the powder into a crucible that emitted a pale blue flame.

The liquid in the crucible churned, emitting a peculiar odor that was sometimes strong and sometimes faint.

Lin Yao became interested, got up and walked to the backyard gate, leaned against the door frame, and carefully observed his father's movements.

He watched as his father precisely controlled the size of the flames, methodically adding various materials.

Lin Yao also tried to remember his father's steps and incantations.

But those obscure incantations and complicated proportions vanished without a trace after circling in his mind.

After struggling for more than ten minutes, Lin Yao rubbed his throbbing head and shook his head helplessly.

He realized that magic is not something you can learn just by looking at it; it requires extremely strong talent and patience.

Lin Yao felt that the price-performance ratio was not high.

Instead of wasting time here, why not go out and stroll around Chinatown and experience the Chinese culture in a foreign land?

Having made up his mind, Lin Yao turned around and went back into the shop, left a note for his father, and then pushed open the door and walked out of the antique shop.

It was already past midnight, but San Francisco's Chinatown was anything but quiet; instead, it was bustling with activity.

The shops on both sides of the street were brightly lit, and the neon signs flashed with colorful lights, illuminating the entire street as if it were daytime.

The roadside food stalls were crowded with people, selling fragrant steamed buns, steaming noodles, and crispy fried chicken.

The aromas of various delicacies mingled together, making one's mouth water.

Lin Yao strolled leisurely down the street, looking at the familiar yet unfamiliar scene before him, and his mood became more relaxed.

He casually browsed a few small shops, bought some local snacks, and continued walking while eating. Before he knew it, he had reached the edge of Chinatown.

The number of pedestrians gradually dwindled, and most shops closed, leaving only a few streetlights shining dimly.

"Boom!"

Just as Lin Yao was about to turn back, a loud explosion suddenly came from the alley ahead, shaking the ground slightly.

Lin Yao raised an eyebrow, a hint of curiosity rising in his heart.

He quickly walked towards the direction from which the explosion came and peered out from behind a corner.

The alley was a mess, with rubble and debris scattered everywhere, and several people were fighting fiercely.

The man leading the group was a fit and athletic man in a blue jacket; it was Jackie Chan.

He was agile and his punches and kicks were fierce. Every attack he made was accompanied by a strong wind. He was entangled in a fight with several men in black around him.

Next to Jackie Chan, a little girl was nimbly dodging.

They would occasionally lend a hand, using clever little tricks to distract the men in black.

It was Xiaoyu.

The men in black on the other side were clearly members of the Black Hand gang led by Valmont.

Valon stood at the back of the crowd, dressed in a black suit and wearing sunglasses, watching the fight in the arena with a cold gaze.

The fight was intense. Although Jackie Chan was very skilled, the Black Hand gang had a large number of members, each of whom was ruthless, and he gradually began to struggle.

Suddenly, Valon raised his hand and waved, and a man in black took the opportunity to throw him a talisman that was flashing with golden light.

Valon took the talisman with a smug smile on his face and casually stuffed it into his pocket.

"Mission accomplished, retreat."

Valon gave a low shout, and the Black Hand gang members immediately stopped attacking, quickly gathered around him, and turned to run into the depths of the alley, their movements as fast as ghosts.

Jackie Chan tried to give chase, but tripped over some debris on the ground. By the time he regained his footing, Valmont and his group had already disappeared into the night.

He punched the wall in frustration, his face full of anxiety.

Lin Yao, hiding in the corner, watched with great interest. He never expected to encounter such an exciting thing while just going out for a stroll.

Seeing that the fight was over, he slowly walked out from the corner, waved to Jackie Chan and Jade, and greeted them with a smile:

"Uncle Long, Xiaoyu, I didn't expect you to be here too."

When Jackie Chan saw Lin Yao, he was first taken aback, then his face showed a look of surprise, which then turned into helplessness.

He knew that Lin Yao was his father's relative and usually helped out at the antique shop; his skills seemed unremarkable.

"Ah Yao, what are you doing here?"

"I was out for a stroll and unexpectedly ran into you guys."

Lin Yao walked up to the two of them and pointed in the direction where Valon had disappeared.

"Those guys just now, were they from the Black Hand Gang? It seems you got the short end of the stick."

Xiaoyu put her hands on her hips and shouted in a sweet voice:

"It was Valmont and those guys from the Black Hand who stole the talisman. I have to help Uncle Long get it back."

Jackie Chan sighed, looked at Jade, then at Lin Yao, and a troubled expression appeared on his face.

He still had to chase after Valmont and retrieve the talisman, but it was too dangerous for Jade to follow him.

After hesitating for a moment, he patted Lin Yao on the shoulder and said solemnly:

"Ah Yao, could you please keep an eye on Xiao Yu and make sure she doesn't run around? I'm going to chase after Valmont."

Upon hearing this, Xiaoyu immediately became unhappy. She pouted and glared at Jackie Chan:

"I don't want to. I want to go with you to chase Valmont and get the talisman back."

"Xiaoyu, be a good girl and listen to me."

Jackie Chan's tone became serious.

"Valon and his gang are dangerous. You'll only cause trouble if you come with me."

Xiaoyu wanted to argue back, but Lin Yao stopped her. Looking at Xiaoyu's puffed-up face and then at Jackie Chan's anxious expression, Lin Yao shook his head helplessly.

In the world of "Jackie Chan Adventures", taking good care of Jade is an epic mission.

This girl is clever and mischievous, with an extremely strong curiosity. She's not one to stay still, and she also possesses great luck.

It perfectly embodies the classic saying, "In adversity, look to Jackie Chan; in desperate situations, look to Jade."

But seeing Jackie Chan's pleading gaze, he nodded anyway.

"Okay, Uncle Long, don't worry, I'll take good care of Xiaoyu."

Jackie Chan glanced gratefully at Lin Yao, said nothing more, turned and chased after Valmont in the direction he had disappeared, his figure quickly blending into the night.

Lin Yao watched Jackie Chan's retreating figure, sighed helplessly, and turned to look at Xiao Yu beside him. Xiao Yu was looking down, kicking pebbles on the ground, her face full of displeasure.

"Alright, don't be angry." Lin Yao patted Xiaoyu on the shoulder. "Uncle Long is only doing this for your own good. Valmont and the others are indeed in great danger."

"I'm not afraid of danger at all." Xiaoyu raised her head and glared at Lin Yao. "I can be of help."

Lin Yao smiled and didn't refute. He knew Xiaoyu's personality; the more he argued, the more unconvinced she would become. "Alright, alright, you're clever." He changed the subject, "But now that Uncle Long has gone after Valmont, there's nothing we can do here. Why don't we go after him and see? Maybe we can be of some help."

Xiaoyu's eyes lit up, and she immediately perked up: "Okay, okay! I knew you wouldn't stop me." She grabbed Lin Yao's arm and ran in the direction Jackie Chan had left.

Lin Yao was pulled along by her, and he smiled helplessly. Actually, there was another reason why he agreed to go with them—just now, his cheat ability had finally activated, and his strength had increased significantly. Now, he was completely fearless in the face of the Black Hand Gang members.

The two walked briskly along the alley. Along the way, Xiaoyu chattered excitedly about the fight they had just had. Lin Yao listened while keeping an eye on their surroundings.

Suddenly, a man dressed in tattered clothes and with a sallow complexion rushed out from the corner. He was holding a pistol, his eyes were unfocused, and there was white powder left at the corner of his mouth. He was obviously a drug addict who had been consuming flour.

"Hand over the money." The man's voice was hoarse and trembling. He pointed the gun at Lin Yao and Xiao Yu, his hands waving incessantly, as if he might accidentally fire it at any moment.

Xiaoyu showed no fear. Instinctively, she was about to rush forward to snatch the gun from the man's hand. Lin Yao reacted quickly and grabbed her.

"Xiaoyu, don't be impulsive," Lin Yao said softly, looking calmly at the drug addict in front of him.

Xiaoyu looked at Lin Yao in confusion: "Yao, why are you stopping me? This guy looks weak and frail, I can handle him."

Lin Yao didn't explain, he just shook his head slightly. He slowly raised his hand, his fingertips pointing at the addict, and a powerful mental force instantly erupted from his body, like an invisible giant wave, sweeping towards the addict.

The addict felt a sharp pain in his head, as if countless needles were piercing it. His vision went black, and he collapsed limply to the ground, dropping the pistol from his hand.

Lin Yao strode forward, picked up the pistol, removed the magazine, emptied all the bullets, and then put the pistol and magazine into his pockets.

Xiaoyu was dumbfounded. Her eyes widened as she looked at Lin Yao in disbelief: "Ayao, how did you do that? That's amazing!" She remembered that when they were at her father's antique shop, Lin Yao seemed ordinary, just like a regular young man. She never expected him to have such powerful abilities.

Lin Yao smiled but didn't explain further: "It's just a little trick, nothing serious." He knew that now was not the time to discuss this; Jackie Chan was still chasing Valmont ahead, and they had to catch up quickly.

The two didn't linger and continued running forward. Before long, they saw a fight unfolding ahead. Jackie Chan was locked in combat with Valmont and several members of the Black Hand gang. His skills remained agile, but he seemed somewhat overwhelmed by the talismans in Valmont's hands.

Valmont held the golden talisman in his hand, the power emanating from it greatly enhancing his speed and strength. He toyed with Jackie Chan while launching attacks from time to time, each attack carrying a powerful impact, forcing Jackie Chan to retreat repeatedly, leaving him in a sorry state.

Upon seeing Lin Yao and Xiao Yu appear, Jackie Chan's expression instantly turned grim. He knew that with these two arriving, things would definitely become even more troublesome. "Trouble, trouble," Jackie Chan muttered to himself, but his hands didn't slow down at all as he continued to desperately defend against Valmont's attacks.

When Xiaoyu saw Jackie Chan being bullied, she immediately panicked. She broke free from Lin Yao's hand and was about to rush over to help. Lin Yao was also about to intervene, but Jackie Chan stopped him.

"Don't come any closer!" Jackie Chan shouted. "Vallon has a talisman; you're no match for him."

Valmont's face broke into a mocking smile upon hearing Jackie Chan's words. He toyed with the talisman in his hand, looking at Jackie Chan with disdain: "Jackie Chan, don't bother struggling. The power of this talisman is beyond your ability to withstand."

Jackie Chan ignored Valmont's taunts and used his agility to constantly look for opportunities to snatch the talisman from Valmont's hand. But Valmont was too fast; every time he almost touched the talisman, Valmont easily dodged it.

Just then, Lin Yao's phone rang, breaking the tense atmosphere. He took out his phone and saw that it was his father calling.

"Hello, Dad," Lin Yao answered the phone.

"Lin Yao, where are you?" His father's voice came through the phone, tinged with anxiety. "Something's happened at the shop. Come back quickly and tidy up the antique shop."

Lin Yao frowned and glanced at the fight in the arena. Although Jackie Chan was somewhat disheveled, his powerful fighting talent meant he wouldn't be in immediate danger. He thought for a moment and said into the phone, "Okay, Dad, I'll be right back."

After hanging up the phone, Lin Yao shouted to Jackie Chan, "Uncle Chan, Dad told me to go back and clean up the antique shop. Be careful, I believe you can handle it."

After saying that, Lin Yao turned to leave. But Valon had no intention of letting him go. He looked at Lin Yao with icy eyes. During the explosion, he had noticed that Lin Yao was standing not far away, yet he was completely unharmed. He had always felt that something was off about Lin Yao, and now it seemed that this young man definitely possessed special magic, or some other kind of spell power.

"Trying to leave?" Valon hissed, giving a wink to the Black Hand gang members beside him. "Stop him."

Several members of the Black Hand gang immediately surrounded Lin Yao, blocking his path. Valon slowly walked up to Lin Yao, his sharp eyes scrutinizing him: "Young man, you were unharmed in the explosion. It seems you have quite a few secrets. I'm very curious, what special abilities do you possess?"

Jackie Chan tried to step forward to stop him, but was held back by several of Valon's men. He could only fend off the attacks while anxiously watching Lin Yao, his face full of worry.

Lin Yao looked at Valon and the Mafia members around him, a speechless expression on his face. He couldn't help but think to himself: Are all these villains this boring? They clearly have the advantage, yet they insist on wasting time here. They're the epitome of being cocky when things are going well and giving up when things are going badly.

Seeing that Lin Yao remained silent, Valon assumed he was afraid. His smile grew even more smug: "What? Afraid to speak? No problem, I'll take you back and study you properly, then you'll naturally find out."

Lin Yao raised his head, looking calmly at Valon, a faint smile playing on his lips: "Study me? Are you sure you have the ability?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Lin Yao unleashed a powerful aura. This aura was different from the mental energy he had used to deal with the drug addict; it was more violent and oppressive. The surrounding air seemed to freeze. The Black Hand Gang members felt this aura, their faces instantly turning pale, and they instinctively took a few steps back.

Valon's expression also changed; he hadn't expected Lin Yao to possess such immense power.

But he was not afraid. He had talismans in his hand and believed that with the power of the talismans, he would definitely be able to defeat Lin Yao.

"Hmph, putting on airs." Valon sneered, gripping the talisman in his hand tightly. "Let me see what you're really capable of."

Lin Yao couldn't help but laugh when he saw Valon's nervous expression.
