Simultaneous Transmigration: From Douluo Continent to the Pinnacle

Chapter 330 The Astonishment of the Konoha Youngsters

As night fell, the moonlight was obscured by thick clouds, leaving only a few sparse, pale rays that shone on the uneven rooftops of Konoha Village.

Deep within the Sarutobi clan's territory, in a Japanese-style room with its doors and windows tightly shut, candlelight flickered, casting uneasy shadows on the walls. Three elderly men sat around a low table, their faces so somber they seemed to drip with gloom. On the table lay a map of Konoha Village's defenses, marked in vermilion ink with the locations of the Anbu sentry posts, the rotation times for patrol routes, and the duty schedules of the barrier squads.

Chief Sarutobi took a deep breath, his voice hoarse and suppressed: "That crazy woman Tsunade is really trying to drive us to our deaths. Root is gone, Danzo has become a rogue ninja, and the Anbu are monitoring our clan territory 24/7—the next step is to raid our property."

Mitomon Homura sat opposite him, his aged fingers gripping the teacup tightly, knuckles white from the force. His voice held an almost desperate madness: "We can't just sit here and wait to die. Once Danzo is captured, he'll definitely reveal everything about our collusion with him in order to save his own life. Then, none of us will escape."

"Then what do you suggest we do?" Koharu's voice was sharp and trembling slightly. "We're being watched by the Anbu, and it's even difficult for us to leave the house. What can we possibly do?"

A ruthless glint flashed in Mitokado Homura's eyes: "Since she won't give us a way out, then we'll carve one out ourselves. We'll emulate the Uchiha clan of yesteryear—launch a coup, forcibly overthrow Tsunade, and reinstate the Hokage."

A brief, deathly silence fell over the room upon hearing this. Chief Sarutobi and Koharu Utatane stared wide-eyed, their faces etched with shock. They knew this was a path of no return. Success might preserve their clan's glory; failure meant utter destruction.

But they had no choice.

They knew all too well that their long-standing collusion with the Root organization had tainted them with countless shady dealings. With Danzo's capture, those secrets would inevitably be exposed sooner or later. Rather than wait to be killed, they chose to take the risk.

"Done." Chief Sarutobi gritted his teeth and squeezed out the two words.

However, the unusual movements of the three races had already been reported to the secret service.

Inside the Hokage's office, Tsunade stood by the window, listening to the intelligence report from the Anbu kneeling on one knee, her expression growing increasingly cold. Her hands were behind her back, her fingers slightly clenched, the knuckles making a soft cracking sound.

"A coup? Ha." She sneered, her voice carrying a chilling edge. "As expected, a bunch of power-hungry old foxes. Even now, they refuse to accept their fate and want to drag the entire Hidden Leaf Village down with them."

She turned around, her gaze sharp as a knife: "Pass down the order—the Anbu will monitor the movements of the three clans around the clock, not allowing a single fly to escape. At the same time, order the heads of the neutral elite clans, including the Hyuga, Ino-Shika-Cho, Inuzuka, and Aburame, to assemble at the Hokage Building immediately."

"Yes!" The figure from the Dark Division flashed and disappeared into the night.

Tsunade walked to her desk, picked up a top-secret file she had prepared beforehand, and slowly scanned the pages. This file was one she had fabricated to completely set things right—a top-secret undercover file about the truth of Uchiha Sasuke's four-year defection.

The file states: Uchiha Sasuke, acting on the Fifth Hokage's secret orders, infiltrated Orochimaru's base four years ago under the guise of defection to gather evidence of Shimura Danzo and Root's collusion with Orochimaru in conducting human experiments. After four years, he successfully completed his infiltration mission and has now returned to the team, awaiting orders to participate in the top-secret operation to eliminate the S-rank rogue ninja Shimura Danzo.

Tsunade put down the file, a slight smile curving her lips. With this file, Sasuke could not only clear his name of treason, but also become a sharp blade in her hand. And that blade was currently waiting for her summons in the underground training room of the Hokage Building.

Meanwhile, deep within the Hidden Forest of Konoha.

Moonlight filtered through the sparse branches, casting dappled shadows on the ground. Over thirty top-tier Jonin clad in black combat suits, along with twelve young faces—the Konoha Twelve—were all gathered here. No one spoke; only the rustling of leaves in the night wind and the occasional chirping of insects filled the air.

This is a top-secret operational meeting.

Tsunade stood in the center of the crowd, clad in the Hokage robes, her long golden hair swaying gently in the night breeze. Her gaze swept across the entire room, her voice steady and powerful: "I have gathered you all here tonight to announce an S-rank top-secret mission—to hunt down the former Root leader, the S-rank rogue ninja, Shimura Danzo."

The entire room fell silent; no one showed any surprise. Everyone present knew this day would come sooner or later.

Tsunade continued, "For this operation, Jiraiya will serve as the captain-in-chief and Kakashi as the vice-captain, with full authority over the operation."

Jiraiya and Kakashi stepped forward simultaneously, bowing to accept the order.

Then, Tsunade uttered the name that shook the entire room: "The second vice-captain—Uchiha Sasuke."

She turned to the side, her gaze falling on the shadows behind the crowd. A tall, slender figure slowly emerged from the darkness. He wore a black ANBU uniform and a half-mask, revealing only his black eyes. He walked to Tsunade's side, stopped, and then slowly removed the mask.

Beneath the mask lay a handsome yet aloof face. The years had weathered its youthful innocence, replaced by a composure and sharpness that combined to create an aura of strength. His gaze was calm as still water, seemingly unmoved by anyone present.

Uchiha Sasuke.

The entire audience erupted in uproar.

Of the twelve Konoha 12, Naruto's eyes widened, his mouth agape enough to fit an egg. Sakura covered her mouth, tears welling in her eyes. Shikamaru raised an eyebrow, a knowing glint in his eyes. Kiba and Shino exchanged a glance, both seeing shock in each other's eyes.

The Jonin, meanwhile, whispered amongst themselves. Many of them still remembered the boy who had defected four years ago. Now, he had returned to Konoha in this way.

Tsunade raised her hand, silencing the murmurs in the room, and announced loudly, "Uchiha Sasuke, four years ago, under my secret orders, disguised himself as a defector and infiltrated Orochimaru's stronghold to gather evidence of Shimura Danzo and Root's collusion with Orochimaru in conducting human experiments. After four years, he has successfully completed his infiltration mission."

"After investigation and confirmation by the Hokage's office, it has been determined that Sasuke Uchiha's claim of defection is entirely fabricated. The information he obtained made an indelible contribution to exposing the crimes of Root and eradicating the scourge of Konoha."

"Effective immediately, Uchiha Sasuke is officially reinstated as a Konoha ninja. Due to his years of meritorious service while in hiding, he is promoted to Jonin without prior appointment."

The audience erupted in uproar once again. But this time, the discussions were tinged with a sense of relief and admiration.

Naruto was the first to react. He rushed forward and hugged Sasuke tightly, his voice filled with barely suppressed excitement: "Sasuke! You're back! I knew it! I knew you weren't a traitor!"

Sasuke was a little breathless from the hug, frowned slightly, pushed him away a bit, and said softly, "Yeah. I'm back."

Sakura also stepped forward, her eyes red and her voice choked with emotion: "Sasuke-kun... welcome back."

Sasuke looked at her, nodded, and said nothing.

Just then, Sasuke suddenly spoke. His gaze swept between Naruto and Sakura, his voice calm and clear: "Naruto, you like Sakura, right?"

Upon hearing this, the entire room fell into a deathly silence.

Naruto's face flushed bright red instantly, his mouth agape as he tried to retort, but found his throat felt as if something was blocking it. Sakura was also stunned, her expression freezing instantly.

Sasuke continued, his tone still calm: "Sakura, I know you like me. But I don't like anyone right now. I just want to become stronger, and I just want to build a better Konoha. So, please don't drag me into this emotional vortex."

His words were like a bucket of cold water poured over Sakura's heart. Her eyes reddened even more, but this time, not from excitement, but from disappointment. However, she quickly composed herself and forced a smile: "I understand, Sasuke-kun... I will respect your choice."

Naruto, meanwhile, grumbled with displeasure, "Sasuke, you... you come back and immediately start showing off in front of Sakura..."

Sasuke glanced at him but didn't reply.

Having weathered the trials of time and broken free from the entanglement of Indra's destiny, Sasuke's mind had become exceptionally rational and insightful. Looking at Naruto, he seemed to see a reflection of his younger self—the boy driven by hatred, bound by fate, and swayed by emotions. He wondered if Uchiha Yao could help Naruto in this world resolve the "curse" issue. But he didn't speak, intending to first accumulate some merit before requesting Uchiha Yao's assistance.

Jiraiya stepped forward and restored order: "Alright, we can catch up after the mission. Now, everyone listen up—depart immediately!"

More than thirty elite ninjas, like ghosts in the night, silently passed through the secret passages of Konoha, bypassing the barrier at the main gate, and hurried out of the village. Their destination was the Fire Country Bridge—the only route Danzo could take back to the village.

The next day is dawn.

In the dense forest near the bridge in the Land of Fire, all of Konoha's elite troops were in ambush. The thick foliage concealed their figures, and even their breathing was deliberately suppressed, blending into the sound of the wind.

Intelligence from the Anbu indicates that Danzo brought eight elite Root members and two top-tier bodyguards—Aburame Torune and Yamanaka Fu. Both are comparable to Kage-level fighters, making this a highly dangerous mission.

During his infiltration, Hyuga Neji activated his Byakugan, peering through the layers of trees to observe the movements on the distant bridge. His gaze inadvertently swept over Sasuke, and then his pupils suddenly contracted.

He saw the chakra within Sasuke's body—the amount of chakra was as vast as an ocean, unfathomable. The density and purity of that chakra were even comparable to Jiraiya, one of the Legendary Sannin. This meant that Sasuke's strength had already reached the top level of the ninja world, far surpassing all the Jonin present.

Neji took a deep breath, suppressing his shock, and remained silent.

Lee noticed Neji's unusual behavior and followed his gaze to Sasuke. A fierce fighting spirit ignited in his eyes; he clenched his fists and whispered, "After this mission, I absolutely have to spar with Sasuke!"

Sakura, hiding behind a tree, secretly watched Sasuke's retreating figure. She noticed that Sasuke was even more handsome than before. The Sasuke of the past was merely cold, like a block of ice, making people afraid to approach him. But the Sasuke of today was filled with a rational radiance, as if everything was under his control, making people involuntarily want to rely on him.

Why did Sasuke undergo such a change? Sakura couldn't quite understand.

The Ino-Shika-Cho trio squatted under another tree, watching Sasuke's retreating figure, sighing with emotion. They had witnessed the dramatic changes and growth of their former comrade, and silently recognized the changing landscape of Konoha, with its old guard replaced by the new. Shikamaru, chewing on a blade of grass, muttered, "That Sasuke guy... he must have suffered a lot these past four years."

Choji, munching on a bag of potato chips, mumbled, "Um... but he got stronger, which is a good thing."

Ino nodded without saying a word, her gaze fixed on Sasuke's retreating figure with a complex expression.

Everyone was poised and ready, waiting for Danzo to fall into their trap.

In the brief moment, Naruto leaned close to Sasuke and asked in a low voice, "Hey, Sasuke, how come you can change so much? I want to be like you too."

Naruto's idea was actually quite simple—he wanted to act cool like Sasuke and attract Sakura's attention.

Sasuke glanced at him, remained silent for a moment, and then slowly spoke, his voice calm and patient: "You want these things, but I'd rather you don't. Because these things require enduring pain. Cherish everything you have now, and strive to become stronger. Naruto, this is my advice to you."

Naruto was stunned.

Listening to Sasuke's sincere words and feeling the genuine emotion within them, he suddenly realized that Sasuke wasn't just putting on a cool act. He had truly experienced that pain to become the person he was today. From childhood to adulthood, no one had ever taught him these principles. It was only later, with the appearance of the Perverted Sage and Grandma Tsunade, that he learned some things. But how old was he then? He had already graduated from the Ninja Academy and had already risked his life on missions. In terms of understanding principles, he was actually inferior to Sasuke.

He lowered his head and remained silent for a long time.

Not far away, Kiba and Shino watched this scene and whispered sarcastically, "Hey, Sasuke, he used to be so stingy with words, but now he's spouting all this profound wisdom?"

Kakashi stood in the tree, watching Sasuke's retreating figure, a complex mix of emotions welling up inside him. He realized how much Sasuke had changed. So much that Sasuke seemed almost unfamiliar, yet also gratifying. He thought with a slight headache: Why do all the kids these days seem so mature? I, as their teacher, seem rather immature.

Jiraiya looked at Sasuke, stroked his chin, and thought to himself: If Naruto could become like this, that would be wonderful. That's more like the demeanor of a child of prophecy. But then again, Sasuke only spent a short time in another world, and he was already so greatly affected?

Kakashi and Jiraiya simultaneously entertained the same thought. They exchanged a glance, both seeing a certain determination in each other's eyes—after quelling the unrest in the village, they would definitely go to that parallel world's Konoha to witness firsthand just how vast the gap was between the two villages, and also to explore the source of Tsunade's confidence in her forceful reforms.

In the distance, at the end of the Fire Country Bridge, several black figures slowly appeared in sight.

Danzo has arrived.
