Simultaneous Transmigration: From Douluo Continent to the Pinnacle
Chapter 343 begins the story, annihilation.
The world of the Lotus Lantern.
Heavenly Court, South Heavenly Gate.
The majestic South Heavenly Gate stands high above the clouds, carved entirely from white jade, its imposing presence reaching into the sky.
Above the lintel, the lifelike relief of dragons and phoenixes symbolizing good fortune radiates a faint golden light.
On either side of the gate stood two rows of celestial soldiers clad in silver armor, holding long halberds, standing solemnly.
Clouds and mist surged beneath my feet, and cranes soared in the distance, creating a scene of celestial beauty.
Lin Yao stood in the ranks, holding a long halberd and wearing silver armor, looking no different from the other heavenly soldiers.
But upon closer inspection, one can see a faint lotus flower mark between his eyebrows, appearing and disappearing, emitting a faint light.
Reborn into this world, he strives to cultivate himself into an immortal and a god. After a hundred years of hard work, he finally becomes a celestial soldier and general.
To put it nicely, they were heavenly soldiers; to put it bluntly, they were just lowly soldiers.
In the Heavenly Court's organizational structure, Heavenly Soldiers are at the lowest level, responsible for standing guard, patrolling, maintaining order, and occasionally participating in the suppression of demons and monsters in the mortal realm.
But most of the time, they are merely a backdrop to the majesty of Heaven.
Fortunately, Lin Yao possessed the protection of a lotus flower, making him no ordinary soldier.
That lotus flower mark was an opportunity he received from his previous life, containing a mysterious power that made his path of cultivation much smoother than that of ordinary people.
He thought he could live a long and peaceful life, but he found himself reborn in the world of the Lotus Lantern.
The Lotus Lantern.
The story of Chenxiang rescuing his mother. The Third Holy Mother was imprisoned under Mount Hua by her brother Erlang Shen because she fell in love with a mortal.
After experiencing numerous hardships, her son Chenxiang finally split the mountain to rescue his mother and led a group of relatives and friends to attack the Heavenly Court, engaging in an earth-shattering battle with the Heavenly Court.
As for Lin Yao, a celestial soldier, he would likely become one of the motley crew members swept away when Chen Xiang rescued his mother and led everyone to attack the Heavenly Court.
The aftershocks of a battle between such powerful beings are enough to annihilate ordinary heavenly soldiers.
He didn't think his silver armor could withstand Yang Jian's three-pointed double-edged sword or Chen Xiang's daylily axe.
Lin Yao felt helpless at this moment.
He wanted to run away, but he had already been incorporated into the Heavenly Court's organization and couldn't escape.
The Heavenly Court's organizational structure isn't something you can just enter and leave as you please.
Those who abandon their posts without authorization will be stripped of their celestial status at best, and cast into the cycle of reincarnation at worst.
Moreover, he bears the mark of the Heavenly Court's celestial register, meaning that no matter where he goes, the Heavenly Court will track him down.
Unless some chaotic situation arises, to the point that even the Heavenly Court is too preoccupied to take care of itself, it will be possible to escape.
But if they didn't have enough strength to break away at that time, things would probably be even worse.
Fortunately, Lin Yao activated his cheat system, the Star Palace, gaining access to a multitude of powers.
In the Star Palace, he met versions of himself from various worlds and shared their cultivation experiences and power systems.
Now, he possesses the earth and fire essence of Groudon, the dragon factor of WarGreymon, the ancient power of Ultra Dreadmon, and the five elements power from the Qilin in the world of the Classic of Mountains and Seas.
These forces intertwined and merged within him, transforming into a powerful foundation that continuously enhanced his potential and talent.
Lin Yao felt that he was terrifyingly strong.
However, due to inertia, Lin Yao had not yet left his post, still guarding the South Heavenly Gate and passing the time while integrating the power within his body.
He goes to work and leaves work on time every day, keeps his eyes straight ahead while on guard duty, and is meticulous when patrolling. He looks like an ordinary heavenly soldier.
No one noticed that the lotus mark between his eyebrows was brighter than before.
All the various powers within his body transformed into a foundation, enhancing his potential and talent.
Groudon's earth and fire elements make its physique incredibly strong, with every move exuding the steadiness of the earth and the explosive power of fire; WarGreymon's Dragon Beast Factor pushes its fighting instincts to the extreme, as if it were born to fight; Ultra Dreadmon's ancient power makes its vitality extremely vigorous, allowing it to heal quickly even when severely injured; and the Five Elements power from the Qilin in the Classic of Mountains and Seas makes its power more balanced and comprehensive.
These powers materialized within Lin Yao's body, granting him not only the Lotus Protection skill but also even more powerful killing moves. He named these moves—"Dragon Slayer," "Five Elements Palm," and "Lotus Prison Suppression"—which, while sounding somewhat childish, were undeniably formidable.
However, Lin Yao remained focused on his cultivation, refraining from making any moves. He preferred a low-key approach – after all, even the gods of the Three Realms and the Four Laws, and Erlang Shen, were suppressed by the Heavenly Court; what trouble could a mere celestial soldier like himself cause? It was best to stay low-key. He knew that in this world, humility was the key to survival. Those who were too high-profile rarely lived long.
As Lin Yao stood guard at Nantianmen day after day with this thought in mind, he never expected that Nantianmen would become unusually lively the next day.
That day, Lin Yao was standing on the left side of the South Heavenly Gate, gazing blankly at the sea of clouds in the distance, utterly bored. Suddenly, he heard a cacophony of sounds coming from below—shouting, the clash of weapons, and screams, all mixed together, growing ever closer.
He peered down and saw a streak of light shooting upwards from the lower realm, heading straight for the Heavenly Gate. Within the light, a young man, wielding a massive divine axe, charged menacingly at the forefront. Behind him followed a diverse group of figures—monks, Taoists, demons, and wandering immortals—all exuding murderous intent, as if they intended to overthrow the Heavenly Court.
Agarwood.
Lin Yao instantly understood—this was the first climax of "Chenxiang Saves His Mother". After going through many hardships, Chenxiang finally grew up and now led a group of relatives and friends to attack the Heavenly Court, forcing the Heavenly Court to release his mother, the Third Holy Mother.
The other celestial soldiers and generals were directly blasted away, knocked to the ground like objects being smashed. Those usually imposing celestial soldiers were like paper before Chenxiang's Xuanhua Divine Axe, flying at the slightest touch. Some were smashed into the clouds, some were slammed against the pillars of the South Heavenly Gate, and some were simply knocked down to the mortal realm. In an instant, chaos erupted in front of the South Heavenly Gate, with screams echoing everywhere.
Seeing this scene, Lin Yao understood—his heavenly soldiers and generals were merely the backdrop for this climax. In the eyes of those powerful beings, they were nothing more than props to highlight the protagonist's might, tools to drive the plot forward.
Thinking of this, Lin Yao wanted to slip away. He quietly took a step back, then another, preparing to escape in the chaos. But after only two steps, he stopped—he had received a salary from the Heavenly Court for so many years, though it wasn't much, it was still a salary. Besides, he was a Heavenly Soldier after all; it would be too unbecoming to just run away without even lifting a finger. He had to at least make a show of it.
So, he took a deep breath, turned around, and aimed at the most robust-looking one among Chen Xiang's group—a burly monster wielding a spiked club, wreaking havoc in the area. Lin Yao raised his hand and struck out with a palm.
"The nemesis of dragons!"
He only used one-tenth of his strength in that palm strike. In his opinion, one-tenth of his strength should be enough—after all, he only wanted to make a token effort, not really fight Chen Xiang and the others to the death. However, he underestimated his current strength.
With a single strike, a golden palm shadow shot out, carrying a terrifying pressure, and slammed directly into the monster. A muffled thud resounded, and the monster, before it could even scream, was sent flying, crashing into a large group of people behind it. The palm shadow, undiminished in its momentum, continued to sweep forward, knocking over seven or eight more people before slowly dissipating.
Lin Yao was stunned.
He looked at his palm, then at the people he had sent flying, blinked, and couldn't believe it. He had only used ten percent of his strength... how could he be so powerful?
Chen Xiang and the others were also startled by this palm strike. They all turned their heads to look at Lin Yao, their eyes filled with vigilance and anger.
"You lackeys of Heaven!" Chenxiang roared, charging towards Lin Yao with his divine axe. "Stay here!"
Seeing this, Lin Yao's heart skipped a beat, and he knew he was in trouble. He had only intended to make a token escape, but he had overdone it and exposed himself. He quickly summoned a lotus flower to protect himself, and a huge golden lotus flower bloomed around him, enveloping him. Then, he turned to run.
But Chenxiang was much faster than he had imagined. In the blink of an eye, Chenxiang had already rushed in front of him, his divine axe carrying the momentum of splitting the heavens and earth, and cleaved down at him!
Lin Yao dodged the axe blow with a swift movement. He inwardly groaned – looking at Chen Xiang and his group, he could only think, "They truly have connections." They possessed the backing of Erlang Shen Yang Jian and the Jade Emperor; otherwise, this group would likely have been swept away by some powerful deity before even reaching the South Heavenly Gate. Those truly powerful beings, such as the Four Heavenly Kings, the Nine Luminaries, and the Twelve Divine Beasts, could wipe out an army with a wave of their hand. But none of them made a move, or rather, they were restrained by some force, unable to act.
It's a pity, they have connections. Then we lowly soldiers became mere background figures, and almost got arrested.
Lin Yao grew angrier the more he thought about it. Why? Why should they, the lowly celestial soldiers, become cannon fodder in someone else's story? Why should they painstakingly cultivate to become immortals, only to end up as footnotes in someone else's heroic tale? He had dignity too!
With this in mind, Lin Yao held nothing back. He took a deep breath, and the power within him surged forth like a river. The lotus mark between his brows suddenly lit up, radiating a dazzling light. Golden light burned around him like raging flames, dyeing the surrounding clouds and mist a golden hue.
"Lotus Prison!"
He let out a low shout, his hands forming a seal, and a gigantic golden lotus bloomed from beneath his feet, instantly covering an area of several dozen feet in radius. The lotus petals slowly closed, trapping Chen Xiang and the others within. A terrifying suppressive force surged from the lotus, like invisible shackles, binding everyone's movements.
Chen Xiang's expression changed, and he struggled desperately, only to find that the suppressing force was extremely powerful, and he was unable to break free for the time being. The others were in the same situation, all of them pressed down and unable to move, their faces showing shock.
Lin Yao stood in the center of the lotus, looking down at them with a cold gaze. He slowly raised his hand, preparing to deliver another blow and completely suppress them.
Just then, he suddenly felt a gaze upon him.
The gaze came from afar—inside the South Heavenly Gate, behind a massive pillar. Lin Yao caught a glimpse of a familiar figure out of the corner of his eye: a monkey, crouching behind the pillar, holding a banana, munching on it while watching him with a playful look in its eyes.
The Victorious Fighting Buddha, an incarnation of Sun Wukong.
Lin Yao's heart sank.
He instantly understood—it was all a charade. Chenxiang's rescue of his mother and his attack on Heaven appeared to be a grand revolution, but in reality, it was a deeper game of strategy. The Jade Emperor, the Queen Mother, Erlang Shen, and Sun Wukong—these powerful beings were all secretly manipulating everything. Every step Chenxiang took was part of their plan. And he and his fellow celestial soldiers were merely background figures in this grand drama, props used to highlight Chenxiang's bravery and fearlessness.
And now, he, the background character, has actually stolen the spotlight from the main character.
Lin Yao sensed the amusement and scrutiny in Sun Wukong's gaze, and a chill ran down his spine. He knew he couldn't continue acting. Continuing would only make things worse. He might be being watched by one of his three-eyed underlings—Yang Jian, that meticulous man, hated anything unexpected. If he discovered that this lowly celestial soldier could suppress Chenxiang, he would definitely become interested in him. And being interested in by Erlang Shen was definitely not a good thing.
Therefore, Lin Yao chose to withdraw.
He deliberately slowed his movements, weakening the power of the lotus-suppressing prison. Feeling the pressure lessen, Chenxiang unleashed a powerful axe strike, splitting a crack in the lotus petals. Taking advantage of this, Lin Yao withdrew most of his power, then feigned being struck by the aftershock of the axe strike, letting out a scream. His body flew backward like a kite with a broken string, plummeting down the South Heavenly Gate and disappearing into the sea of clouds.
"Ah—I'll be back—" he shouted as he fell, making his performance even more realistic.
Above the clouds, Sun Wukong watched Lin Yao's falling figure, scratched his head, and muttered to himself, "Strange... When did the Southern Heavenly Gate get such powerful heavenly soldiers? How come I, Old Sun, didn't know?"
Lin Yao, who had just fallen to Earth, adjusted his posture in mid-air and landed steadily in a mountain forest. He dusted himself off, looked around, and found himself in an unnamed mountain range.
"Phew...that was close." He let out a long breath and wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. "I almost let that monkey see through me."
He looked up at the sky, and through the layers of clouds, he could vaguely make out the outline of the Southern Heavenly Gate. He knew he couldn't go back for the time being. Chenxiang's attack on the Heavenly Court would definitely cause a huge uproar there. As a "missing" heavenly soldier, no one would probably pay attention to him for a while. But as time went on, it would inevitably attract attention.
"In these turbulent times, we still shouldn't get too close to the Heavenly Court." After a moment's thought, Lin Yao made a decision. "Let's find a place to settle down first, and then we'll talk about it after things calm down."
He extended his divine sense and scanned his surroundings, quickly discovering an unusual place—atop a mountain a hundred miles away, a dense demonic aura rose into the sky like smoke from a wolf's beacon. The demonic aura was also mixed with a trace of blood and resentment, clearly indicating it was not a benevolent place.
"A demon's lair?" Lin Yao raised an eyebrow. "Perfect, I need a place to stay."
With a swift movement, he transformed into a streak of light and flew towards the mountain peak.
The mountain peak was called Black Wind Ridge, where a tiger demon dwelled, calling himself "King Black Wind." This tiger demon had cultivated for hundreds of years and had acquired considerable power. He had gathered hundreds of lesser demons under his command, ruling the mountain as king and causing havoc in the area. He frequently descended the mountain to abduct mortals, killing them to refine treasures and eating their flesh and blood, causing fear and trepidation among the people for hundreds of miles around, who dared not leave their homes.
Lin Yao landed before the gate of Black Wind Ridge, his brow furrowing slightly as he gazed at the massive gate constructed of piled bones. Two strings of human skulls hung on either side of the gate, swaying in the wind and making a cracking sound. A heavy, nauseating stench of blood permeated the air.
"Who goes there!" Two demon guards at the mountain gate spotted Lin Yao and charged over, brandishing their weapons. "How dare you trespass on Black Wind Ridge! You're courting death!"
Lin Yao, too lazy to waste words, raised his hand and waved it, sending out two golden beams that instantly reduced the two lesser demons to ashes. Then, he strode into the mountain gate.
Inside the mountain gate lay a massive cave dwelling. The cave was brightly lit, and human remains and artifacts were scattered everywhere. Some had been made into decorations, some were carelessly discarded on the ground, and some were even used as tables and chairs. Lin Yao's expression grew increasingly cold, and the killing intent in his eyes intensified.
He continued his journey, encountering more and more monsters, but none of them were a match for him. He didn't even need to use his soul skills; he crushed them one by one with the strength of his physical body alone. His figure moved through the cave like a ghost, each strike accompanied by a scream and a cloud of blood mist.
When he stormed into the main hall, the tiger demon finally appeared.
It was a gigantic white tiger, standing a full three zhang tall, its body covered in white fur with black stripes. Its eyes, as large as copper bells, gleamed with a scarlet light. A trace of blood clung to the corner of its mouth, clearly indicating it had just finished eating.
"Who are you?" The tiger demon looked at Lin Yao, a hint of fear flashing in its eyes. "You immortals and gods, have you overstepped your bounds? Don't you know who's behind me?"
Lin Yao did not answer, but just stared at it coldly.
Seeing his silence, the tiger demon continued, "You look unfamiliar; you're not some great supernatural being. How dare you invade my cave! You're courting death! Do you know I have ties to the Western Buddhist sect? If you harm me, they will not let you off!"
Lin Yao's gaze sharpened slightly. He could indeed sense a trace of Buddhist energy emanating from the tiger demon—a faint but unmistakable aura of Buddhism. He instantly understood—this was yet another scheme orchestrated by the West. By supporting a demon king in the mortal realm, Buddhism could both control local power and increase its leverage in its power struggle with the Heavenly Court. This tiger demon was very likely one of the pawns planted by Buddhism in the mortal world.
Unfortunately, Lin Yao saw through the possible misunderstanding behind it, but looking at the scene of mountains of corpses and seas of blood before him, the anger in his heart could no longer be contained. In addition, the two sides had already started fighting, and there was no way to retreat—he had killed so many of the tiger demon's subordinates, and even if he wanted to stop, the tiger demon would not let him go.
"I didn't see it, so I let it go," Lin Yao said, his voice as cold as frost. "But I saw my human race being so humiliated by you—killing people to refine treasures, eating human flesh and blood—how could I let you off just because of a few words from you and the people behind you?"
He slowly raised his right hand, his five fingers spread wide, and the power of the five elements condensed in his palm, transforming into a giant hand. That hand displayed five colors, corresponding to the five primordial forces of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth, radiating a vast and majestic aura.
"No matter what, I will kill you."
As soon as he finished speaking, the Five Elements Palm slammed down!
The tiger demon let out a terrified howl, desperately trying to resist. It opened its blood-red maw and spat out an inner core, attempting to block the giant palm. But before the Five Elements Palm, its resistance was like a mantis trying to stop a chariot, instantly crushed. The giant palm continued to fall, slamming the tiger demon to the ground.
"No—you can't kill me—my master is—"
Before the tiger demon could finish speaking, the Five Elements Palm descended, pulverizing it into dust. Its very soul was annihilated by the power of the Five Elements, leaving it no chance for reincarnation.
As the smoke and dust cleared, a huge palm print, several feet deep, was left on the ground. Not a trace of blood remained within the print—the tiger demon had completely vanished from this world.
Lin Yao withdrew his hand, staring expressionlessly at the palm print. He turned, walked out of the main hall, and came to the outside of the cave. He took a deep breath, then raised his hand and struck out with a palm, collapsing half of the entire Black Wind Ridge peak. Debris rolled down, completely burying the cave filled with blood and sin.
From then on, Black Wind Ridge and Black Wind King ceased to exist in the world.
Lin Yao stood atop the ruins, his robes fluttering in the mountain breeze. The lotus mark between his brows shone brightly in the sunlight, as if telling a story.
He knew this was just the beginning. In this world, there were many places like Black Wind Ridge, and many demons like the Tiger Demon. His power alone was limited; he couldn't possibly sweep away all the darkness. But at least, he could do what he believed was right within his capabilities.
As for what to do next—we'll just have to take it one step at a time.
